Dropping his cigarette Toby exhaled the smoke from his lungs and glanced down at his watch. "Half past ten already." Toby sighed and tapped his foot impatiently. BostonGeorge and Palerider were due here by ten at the latest. Toby had spent all morning canvassing the city looking for a suitable property. "Three fucking days I've been out here looking at dilapidated building for these assholes and they can't even get here on time." Toby impatiently glanced down at his watch again and pulled another cigarette out of his pack. As he took a drag of his cigarette he noticed a car speeding down the road and screech to a halt behind his Cadillac Roadster. In the front seat sat Palerider and BostonGeorge laughing and carrying on; obviously still tipsy from a night out on the town. Toby let out sigh of disbelief and discontent. "Why do I always get stuck doing this shit." Toby tossed his cigarette into the small pile forming next to him. "Let's get this over with already." Toby put on a smile and waved over to BostonGeorge and Palerider. As he approached the car they exited the car and began looking around the graying neighborhood. Toby raised his voice slightly to address the two men. "Well? How about we get this over with then? I've been prowling the streets for three days and keen to get home to Detroit as soon as possible. What the fuck do you want with some shitty building in the middle of LA anyway?" BostonGeorge and Palerider quickly looked at one another before turning their attention back to Toby. With a beaming smile BostonGeorge piped up, "You aren't going back Toby. I've been meaning to tell you. You weren't just sent out here to buy up real estate. We sent you out here to find us a suitable location for a new HQ.” Flabbergasted Toby stumbled over his words. “N-New HQ? What the fuck do you mean? Don’t tell me we are going to be staying in this neighborhood? There isn’t even a speakeasy around for miles!” Without saying anything BostonGeorge’s hand slammed down on Toby’s shoulder and a toothy grin appeared on his face. “No, no my friend. We all won’t be staying in this shit hole neighborhood. I bought a nice new place in the heart of the city. High-rise condo. Fantastic view and all.” Toby let out a sigh of relief before BostonGeorge continued. “You, Pale and BobbyZ will be staying here. I hope the place you got was up to the specifications we requested!” Toby groaned and closed his eyes. I knew this trip would end up being a hassle. Toby motioned for BostonGeorge and Palerider to follow. “Come on… BobbyZ is inside checking the interior structure. This place was abandoned back in 1918 and the city condemned it in ‘27. Apparently there was something wrong with the ventilation, so you might want to prepare yourself for the smell.” Pushing open the graying nondescript door and overwhelming smell of death and charred bone surrounded the men. The light barely penetrated the interior of the building and it took a few moments for their eyes to adjust to the darkness within. After a brief coughing fit BostonGeorge exclaimed, “What the fuck is that! Jesus Christ…” before immediately covering his mouth and nose with his arm. Palerider stood silently and took a deep breath. “It’s perfect! I can’t wait to get everything in here and get to work! I thought you said BobbyZ was already in here?” Almost as soon as he finished his statement the men heard a scream from the back room of the building. Drawing their pistols they moved through the building to investigate. As they made their way down the narrow corridors the scream subsided but the clear sound of a gunshot echoed throughout and left a loud ringing in their ears. Throwing caution to the wind they increased their pace. As they rounded the corner they came to a large metal door with a stone frame. As they hesitantly approached Palerider pointed at the engraving above the door. “Body Storage.” “Come on boys. Let’s see what’s going on.” BostonGeorge pushed the door open with his gun at the ready. As the door swung open on its hinges the three men burst into the room to find BobbyZ gun drawn, red faced and panting standing over a tightly wrapped body. After a quick scan of the room BostonGeorge, Palerider and Toby straighten up and holster their weapons. With a slight chuckle in his voice Palerider turns to BobbyZ. “What the fuck happened mate?” Still panting and practically bent over trying to regain composure BobbyZ started mumbling to himself. “Fucking zombies man. Send me into the fucking haunted crematorium and I find fucking zombies.” Turning to look at Palerider. “I didn’t sign up for this shit man.” Trying to stifle his laughter Toby kicked the dead body and watched as the dust flew up into the air and slowly settled back down onto the ground. “Everything in here has been dead for years brother. What are you doing getting spooked by a dead body? This ain’t your first time is it?” Toby grabbed BobbyZ by the arm and straightened him up. “Come on now. Grab the feet and lets get this over to the furnace. Hopefully they are still operational.” BobbyZ slowly shuffled around the body and looked down at the corpse. As the two picked up the body BostonGeorge pushed the door all the way open and lead them out. “I think I saw some stairs going down to the furnace back the way we came from.” As the men reached the stairs Toby and BobbyZ threw the body down the steps. BostonGeorge put his hand on the shoulder of Palerider. “Well gentleman. I have some other business to attend to so I’ll leave you boys to it.” All three quickly shook BostonGeorge’s hand and watched him disappear down the hallway before turning their attention back to the task at hand. Palerider started down the stairs. “Well. We got some work to do. Welcome to the Crematorium.” |

When WhiteGhost heard the news, she couldn't wait. She arrived as quickly as she can to the old Crematorium building and was early enough to still meet Toby, Palerider, BobbyZ and the body - Congratulations, Palerider! - she shouted - I am so happy! I just heard about it! - Toby and BobbyZ - she turned to other two alive men in this building - I am glad we will be working together! She was nearly jumping with excitement around them, shaking their hands. |

Walter_Junior had just arrived to the city of angels, and felt half-dead after the tunnel marathon he just completed, he found the HQ but still decided to head down towards Palerider and his little crew to greet them all. He was a bit confused when arriving, as noone was to be found at the entrance, which most of all looked like a one way ticket to an accident due to the building looking very deteriorated. Junior slowly walked inside and a horrible smell of death and old furniture met him at the hallway. He covered his nose and quickly ran towards the sound of people talking which he assumed would be Palerider and the rest. Within seconds he had met up with the rest and decided to congratulate Palerider and those going with him. "Congratulations Palerider, and to each and everyone of you, I have worked with you all for quite a while, and you will all be greatly missed, but luckily we are still only minutes away from each other, and I am always here to help you out, even you Palerider. He said with a bright laugh. I am sure you will help expand this lovely city and help rebuild it into something great, best of luck my friend." Junior swiftly pulled out a cigar and handed it to Pale as a sign of respect. |

After taking some time to take care of the business as hand I made my way back to The Crematorium with Whoreable .Opening the back office door to the three I was looking for all together was no surprise. The stench of the bodies we had disposed of was dying down, but I think it was due to all of the celebratory cigars that had been smoked by the three. It doesn't smell half bad anymore, though your gonna have to continue with these cigars I brought or I fear it might come back. I wanted to come back and thank you all for your dedication and hard work preparing for the move. I brought this old bottle of scotch down with us from SpikeS liquor cabinet back in Downtown, I am sure it's spendy. We shall all share a drink to commemorate our time spent in Detroit and to what our future may hold. George popped the cork on the bottle and served the men each a glass, raising his in celebration they followed. |

Syndicate stepped out of his private car. He held his head as the hangover pounded from the party BostonGeorge held the night before. He stared ahead at the building in front of him. He looked down at the address written on the piece of paper in his hand. He checked the buildings address and sighed. A bit of a change from the luxuries of Detroit, but with a little elbow grease this place could look amazing. I wonder if they sell Elbow Grease in this city, Syndicate joked with no one around to hear him. Syndicate made it inside to find Palerider holding a party inside a bus that was inside his new property. This was no ordinary bus, this was one of those short busses. The only difference is that this one was hoppin! Syndicate greeted and congratulated his good friend Toby sitting in the driver's seat, ready to greet his friends with a beer from the cooler at his side. He made his way to the back of the short bus to greet the host of the party, Palerider, the short bus rider. What a night, I'm so proud to see you here my friend. I'd buy you a drink but it seems that Toby is already sponsoring the event. Cheers mate! Syndicate offered up his drink as a cheers as Palerider clinked his glass against his and the mingling of guests began for Syndicate. |
