It was a busy afternoon when DoctorBoom graced me with a phone call. Boom sounded excited when he was talking about some business opportunities that we needed to expand upon, however, I felt like he was keeping something back. To try and confirm my suspicions, I asked him if there was something he was not telling me. This question was met with a slight chuckle as he mentioned he was taking all the crew leaders of Chicago out for a dinner tonight at his favorite restaurant and then, and only then, will he tell me about this “big news”.
 
Bewildered about this statement, I slowly put down the phone receiver. I knew that this was a truly rare occurrence, as DoctorBoom didn't like to splurge money like this, never mind on other people. Whatever Boom has to say, it must be ground breaking.
 
The rest of the day was nothing more than a blur as I couldn't stop thinking about the excitement of DoctorBoom's voice. I was eager to know what he had planned to tell us, how this would effect us here in Chicago and how I would feature in these plans of his.
 
My mind was still racing when I was driving over to DoctorBoom’s favorite restaurant. I felt like I was as giddy as a 5 year old on Christmas morning, and instead of presents, I wanted know what he has planned.
 
Upon arriving at the restaurant, DoctorBoom was at the front door, smiling, whilst waiting for me. By the looks of things, it seemed like I was the last to arrive, even though I knew I was early. Once I got to the front door, DoctorBoom greeted me by wrapping his arms around me for a hug, before walking me inside, grinning from ear to ear. Everyone was seated around the table, the smiles on their faces was just a prominent, as if they all knew what was going on, and I was the last to know. This was slightly worrying, but I shrugged my shoulders and took my seat anyway, as I knew it had to be great news!
 
After some welcoming greetings around the table, and the usual "how are things going over there" talk, we all ordered our meals and were eating up when DoctorBoom cleared his throat and tapped his glass with the nearest knife, as he wanted to make his announcement.
 
"Thank you all for meeting me here tonight, we're all building ourselves a wonderful city here, and I couldn't be prouder of that fact, but it time for a change." He paused for effect and to have a sip of the drink he had in his hand before continuing on.
 
"We all know South Side has been empty since SpikeS granted us permission of moving our operations to Chicago, and well, today I would like to announce who will be taking it." He paused and turned to look at me, as his smile grew even further.
 
"Pine, it's been wonderful having you as my captain here in The Loop, but it is time that you take over running things in South Side. I know that you will be able to bring it up to the very high standards of the rest of Chicago. Congratulations my friend." He raised his glass, and everyone else followed suit, except me, as I were sitting there stunned. With a few seconds to compose myself, and a poke from Maria, I raised my glass as we all toasted to the expansion of Chicago. After which DoctorBoom motioned for me to make some sort of speech. Boom knew I was stunned, but also knew that if I didn't get it out now, he'd be listening to me all night talking about it.
 
After a few seconds of incomprehensible words and slightly babbling, I take a slow gulp of my wine and managed to compose myself enough to say a few words.
 
"Thank you so very much Boom, this is coming as a shock to me, I'm overjoyed that you feel that I deserve my own district in our great city. I will try and do this city proud, by restoring South Side to it’s former glory and once again, bringing it up to the very high standards that the other Chicago districts uphold. Once again, thank you, DoctorBoom."
 
I raised my glass in another toast, but this time to DoctorBoom, the man who has taught me so much, and now has given me the ability to take over my own district and has also given me the opportunity to show Chicago and the other cities what I am capable of.

After the excitement died down, everyone went back to small talk about the future of Chicago whilst finishing up their meals. However, I was sat there, idly talking to everyone, not really paying attention as I now had bigger things on my mind that I needed to put into place in preparation for my big move.
