I was told awhile ago it is possible to have a computer you use, for Internet, word documents and such without having a operating system but you have like a ram storage system or something.

I want to know your thoughts on this and any more info you have...or am I completely crazy?

This is a very odd topic..However, I must go with the latter("or am I completely crazy?") because an Operating System is exactly what it sounds like...It's what makes the computer work. I am sure there is a way you could make your own OS that is so slim it seems as if there isn't one? I dunno. I've never heard of not using one.

something like that and no Windows or Apple needed but I wouldn't call it a Operating System.

You are talking about a Live CD, I believe. It is still an operating system, it's just kinda like a trial version..sorta. I happen to have one for my xubuntu and it has helped me out many times. Namely when my father took my computer and I used the live cd to get passed his xp password.

If that is what you are talking about, then it exists. However, I shall assume that all live cd OS's are quite lacking. For on mine, I can't install plugins and updates on the disk, and if I did, it wouldn't make any changes to my computer. If that is not what you are talking about, I would assume you are crazy. ;)

Its a cloud operaing system means that everything is going to be stored on encrypted files on the internet. The company google will be the first to intorduce this in the next 24 months.
