The night was warm as the men and women met along the lake in the North Side.  Maria had been nice enough to host the party for the occasion.  DoctorBoom had just defeated the Godfather at his home and they were now tossing back a couple drinks, reviling in the moment and reminiscing about the path they had taken to get this far.  Now he had to decide who the next captain would be for the fair city of Chicago. Without having to think too hard on it a name already came to mind. 

They had asked Shogun to join them as they enjoyed the occasion.  All a little too drunk for words, they all almost forgot why they had gone out.  Sitting around the table with smoke in the air DoctorBoom rose and reached into the nearby coat closet.  Inside he grabbed the freshly tailored suit he had custom made for Shogun.  Laying it on the table in front of his Left Hand he unwrapped the plastic and handing him a wrapped box.  He unwrapped them and inside were golden MWE cuff links.  On the back of the collar of the new suit read "Forever The Morningwood Elite".

"My dear Shogun, I want to start by saying thank you for the dedication you have showed my family and our fair city.  You have risen to become a titan among us here and I am proud to call you family forever.  I am overjoyed to see the Yakuza returning to our world to stand beside myself and Morningwood again."

"I know the skills you bring to the table are immense and we are lucky to have you.  I know that you will make everyone proud here in Chicago. Thank you for taking this to the next level.  I know you will do great things for us.  Congratulations my friend you have earned this."

Congratulations to all of Chicago. This is quite the monumental day for everyone. Shogun I know you will do great in your new role. I look forward to seeing you build something great.

If Shogun had been blushing, no one could have told. His full body tattoos - much like his grandfather's - hid his face well. But he was so proud to be given this opportunity. The last few years had been difficult for him since his grandfather's death. His father didn't last long either. After a short spell in Detroit Shogun had moved to Chicago in hopes that an old family friend would help him reclaim his family's stolen glory and honor. At first, he was repressed, and had no knowledge of it. But once the tyrant fell, Shogun was accepted back into the fold, and he could not be more grateful.

"DoctorBoom, I cannot thank you enough for this chance to show you what you already know so well. My loyalty is undying, my commitment to Morningwood is eternal, my motivation to be great is endless. I will make you proud of this, I will stand with you until my last breath."

Raising a glass to DoctorBoom and to Shogun, Pine speaks..

"Congratulations gentlemen, it's been a long time coming for you DoctorBoom, countless sleepless nights working away at preparing for this day have finally paid off. Shogun, I know you will do us proud here in Chicago, don't let this new position get to your head too much. Here's to a bright future for Chicago, under the fine toliage of DoctorBoom, and his newest captain Shogun!" 

Pine laughs as he takes a sip from his drink, clinking glasses with DoctorBoom and Shogun.

Laurel woke up from her drunken stupor and fumbled to grab her messages from her bedside table. Upon realizing her table was not where it normally was, she sat up quickly and immediately regretted it. Grabbing her head, she waiting a moment for the pounding to pass before looking around. She was not in her room at The Morningwood Elite where she'd remembered passing out, though someone had been kind enough to drop her bag on the floor beside her. On top of her purse was a note from Shogun - "Welcome home", he was always quick to get to the point. Laurel sighed as she realized he'd set up in his new headquarters while she was passed out. She almost went back to sleep just to spite him, but then realized what it meant, DoctorBoom had also achieved reaching the esteemed status of Godfather! "I guess I'd better make an appearance," she mumbled to herself before rolling out of bed and heading to the celebration.

When she arrived to Maria's home, she gasped at how organized and beautiful everything was; she had obviously been working for male leaders too long. After finding the group gathered around, she smiled at DoctorBoom. "I hear congratulations are in order, I knew you'd get here soon. Thank you for opening you home to me. You were a great leader, and it was nice not working for a tyrant for once."

"Speaking of tyrants," she began as she moved over to Shogun, "congratulations to you as well. I'm glad you're getting your chance to shine. I've been pouring over my ancestor's journals since you confided in me that you may get this chance, and my mothers were nothing short of impressed with your line. I hope you live up to their expectations, you've got big shoes to fill!"

"Oh! Before I forget," she slugged him in the arm and then glared at him when he didn't even flinch. "That's for having your bodyguards move me in the middle of the night and not even bringing all my stuff! I need to go track it all down, try not to get as drunk as I did last night." 

"Chicago is now in better hands, congratulations to all of Chicago and Shogun especially. Shogun, you will do well in your new role and hopefully something big and better can be built."

Hey I know him. Cool stuff.

As a brother and as a friend I am so pleased to see you given this opportunity. An opportunity earned through merit. The metric we use to measure ourselves - our loyalty, honor, and courage are embodied in you.

Chicago has been in brilliant hands - now we get to see you shine among the other stars in the firmament. I know the Yakuza is in the best of hands. It's your turn now Shogun. The wait is over. Make us proud.

He raised his Flask to Doctorboom and Shogun

To a dear old friend always getting what he deserved and hopefully a new friend in new leadership.

When they ask how long I held DoctorBoom's family dear, it could only be always.

LucaRossi was just leaving the local coffee shops after his conversation with Poopship_Destroyer was interrupted with loud cheering outside. They heard the announcement of Shogun donning the bold suit and leading a crew along side them in The Loop. Luca was very happy to see one of his bloodline's oldest friends get a chance to run a crew along side him. 

"Congratulations dear friend. I hope this run does not end as abrupt as last time. If you ever need anything, please let Poop know."

Ever-so-slightly tipsy from the evening spent celebrating the new Godfather Chairman of Chicago, DoctorBoom, Maria walked over to Shogun and touched his arm lightly.

"Shogun, my dear, congratulations. Chicago grows stronger yet again with the addition of yet another fine leader to her ranks. I know you'll do wonderfully over in The Loop. The good Doctor is lucky to have you by his side. If every you need anything, I trust you will know where to find me."

Maria slides a box of fine Cuban cigars into Shogun's pocket before making her way into the crowds.
