I joke.. but not really

I think we need something that is able to bring some instability around here within an instant. Something that the most crazy SOB would only use at the most desperate of times.

I propose an option for a Godfather to be able to detonate a bomb in their own city that would kill many if not all people in the city, with a good chance of getting themselves killed in the process.

This would be too awesome. If there was a war and the Godfather played all their cards and knew they were going to lose, it could be a last resort type of thing and obviously the occasional psycho would use it when they no longer cared about life.

This wouldn't happen often enough to be a huge and constant negative impact on life but enough to stir things up a bit.

The RP side of it is the Godfather would know the ins and outs of their own city and surely have some sort of last stand such as Scarface in the mansion.

I really don't see any benefit to this at all. If a Godfather is at war they fight until the end. Not turn in to cowards and suicide taking their whole city with them. Here's one for you to remember CrazyAces

There is nothing cowardice about going out guns blazing, knowing that your life might be taken in the process.

I seem to have misunderstood you, i can see the benefit to wiping out everyone in a given city. however, adding this to the game takes away the skillful art of warring especially successfully as the whole userbase would be damn near wiped out if the godfathers and Godmothers decided to use this.

"bad idea" is not a valid argument and not having any valid argument supports that its a good idea.

Think about it. a Godfather is outnumbered, on their last legs, surrounded by foes and as a last attempt they blow everything up.

In the blink of an eye they could all be dead, leaving everything in chaos. or if they were extremely lucky the outnumbered Godfather could come out on top. It would give a new meaning to being an underdog. This would be in no way a replacement for skill as there would be a good chance of dieing in the process.

I can see why people would first be against it. Dieing sucks but like mentioned above it wouldn't be used often.

Nuclear warheads was obviously a joke, it could be a bomb or a "guns blazing" type thing.

Detonating bombs is something the mob did admittedly do, on a very small basis, though it was certainly not a preferred method of execution. It was only used to send a clear message - enforcers knew there were much more effective ways to mete out death.

However, I'm talking on a small scale. On a big scale, this is such an unfeasibly stupid idea it's untrue. Militant terrorists level entire cities with bombs, Mob Bosses don't. It's not only historically inaccurate, it's impossible to RP.

I agree that a change to introduce an element of instability/unexpectedness would be good - it's been missing from the game since rogues have essentially been coded out, but I don't agree with this particular in the slightest, it's patently ridiculous.

1: When you go to war with another city, the GF is usually the first target, so chances are you won't be blowing it up.

2: I'm pretty sure that there were no bombs that could level entire cities in the 30's.

Overall, in my opinion, a bad idea. Seems like a cheap way to level the the playing feild.

P.S. Yeah, I miss rogues. Makes no sense, but more convenient for them out. Yet, it was cool cracking down on them.

This is probably 1 of the worst suggestions I have ever hard.

1. Nuclear technology was not available in the 1930's. If it had been, it would defiantly not be in the hands of immigrants such as ourselves.

2. A Nuclear weapon has a blast radius of about a half mile. That's the immediate effected area where nothing will survive. Take into account the fallout and everything else, it would still not destroy a city the size of New York or L.A. People tend to over estimate the power of a nuclear bomb and think it can turn an entire country into a smoking hole in the ground.

3. Some plays have guns equal to nuclear weapons today. But they did that through their own hard work, not a feature.

This is the most idiotic suggestion I have read in my time here on MR.

1) No nukes in the 30's,get your shit straight

2) You said a maniac could use it to suicide,so in other words,a Godfather gets tired and wants to go out with a boom(Literally) so he kills all of the crew leaders and every other innocent person in their city? What the hell?

3)I see one point why this could work,all your CL's are dead,the enemy has sent 3 CL's and the Godfather,you are going to die,do it,and kill all of them too...
