Returning to a Newsstand Near You (soonish) Started by: Shogun on Jun 16, '16 04:18

Shogun was sitting in his office after a long day of battle, weary and sore, yet More motivated now than he had been in weeks. It was odd - how so much destruction and sorrow could bring about a desire to make things better for the people of his world. He wanted to give them something to look forward to every so often, something to take their minds off of their pain and hardship. The life of a mafiosi was not an easy one at all.

Not only take their mind off of things, but a way for them to catch up on the happenings of the world in just a few short minutes. Just grab a paper and enlighten themselves to all the things going on in the criminal underworld. He remembered just being a young boy, no older than ten, reading his grandfather's papers. The Cosa Nostra Times he had called it. It was a hit with the underworld, getting rave reviews and making a ton of money for the family.

For a while now people had been asking Shogun to bring it back; he still held the rights to the company and the old warehouses where it was produced. But he didn't have his grandfather's drive or ambition, you could even say he was a bit lazy. But today's events had driven him to fire up the old presses, and give it a go.

All across the nation, young men were pasting posters up on lamp posts, shop windows, and warehouse doors. Flyers Shogun had printed out himself, not yet having hired any employees for the paper.

Madara's eye catches a glimpse of bright and colourful poster which had been carefully tacked to the back of a homeless man's coat. Madara tried to move closer to read what was written, as it was swaying back and forth with the bum's footsteps but also attempting to maintain as much distance as possible to avoid too much of a wiff of the unpleasant and over powering aroma emanating from him.

Excitement and anticipation gripping them, Madara scanned the required application criteria to become a contributor to this well renowned paper. "I can do that!" they said under their breath as they went through the list.

"Eugh, what?! ..." The joy that had been welling up inside instantaneously disappeared. Madara, a well known advocate of tea drinking reeled back in shock at such a frankly uncivilised request. "Black... COFFEE?!?"

Madara attempted to console them self. "I mean, sure. I know tea isn't everyone's cup of tea, and sometimes it's simply because people don't know any better, I get it. I can accept that some people drink coffee, and that the world takes all sorts and I'd have to keep professional during work hours... but to be expected to throw in with BLACK coffee drinkers!! Eugh.. the very idea, this is a deal breaker!"

Frustrated to have gotten hopes up only for them to be dashed right at the end Madara kicks the bum in the bum and storms off outraged at the very idea.

Wondering why everyone was giving them the old stink eye... Madara replayed their outburst ramblings back in their head.

"EUGH! NO! when i said BLACK coffee drinkers... I didn't mean black people who drink coffee... I meant.. black..."

Madara sighs as people begin huffing and turning away, muttering disapprovingly to themselves and each other as they do.
