Detroit: Rising from the Ashes Started by: Crystalize on Jun 16, '16 04:25

The night was dark and storming, the rain falling from the heavens with quite a bit of force. A woman stood leaning by the balcony, a glass of hard liquor in her hand as she sipped at her. Covered in black from her shoulders down in mourning of those lost in the war earlier that day. People she had considered friends were lost to the horrors of the world but such was the way of the world. All but one of her family had made it through safely and for that she was forever grateful.

Word had reached her that Pine had wanted to talk to her about something and since she was on the balcony, she could see when he would arrive soon. Leaving her post, the woman walked with long steps back in to grab the liquor and an extra glass, not wanting to keep her superior waiting long for a good drink. She had been raised to give good hospitality and she would be damned if she wouldn't give the best of it to the man who gave her the chance to have the position she did now.

Once Pine was inside the home and the two of them were settled in the two of them were sipping at their drinks before she noticed that Pine seemed to want to say something.

"What's on your mind, dear Pine..."

The man chuckled softly before setting down his drink and clasping his hands in front of him, elbows resting on his knees.

"I have good news for the both of us dear, I've just returned from the good Doctor's home where we had a chat..."

Lightning from the raging storm outside flashed and lit up the entire room, before Pine seemed to continue to speak, having thought on his words.

"We will be moving to Detroit. The good Doctor has graced us with such a wonderful opportunity and in turn, I wish to give you yet another one, my dear Crystalize. I wish to have you work alongside me... but from Corktown."

The woman was speechless for a few moments as she took in what had just been offered to her. Crystal blue eyes softened up though as a smile spread across her face, this was the light at the end of the tunnel. After everything they had been through since he'd made her his captain in South Side Chicago.

"Thank you, so much for this opportunity. This means so much to me and I'll do you proud... May we live long and prosper in Detroit to make that beautiful city flourish like a phoenix rising from the ashes..."

She clinked her glass with him as she finished off her liquor before getting up to refill both of their glasses, settling down again to continue talking about their bright future and what it might hold in store for them.

Sinfest was doing some illicit activity when he received word Crystalize wanted to talk to him. Fearing the worst Sinfest rushed over to Crystalize's home just as Pine was leaving. Pine had a twinkle in his eye and winked at Sinfest before taking his leave and Sinfest a little more relieved rushed up the stairs and knocked on the door. Crystalize opens the door and says

"Come in Sin, I've got some great news to share with you."

Sinfest closes the door behind him and follows Crystalize into her sitting room. Sinfest took a seat and was offered a drink.

"No thanks, my dear still have some work to do tonight"

Crystalize laughs and starts up with

"Well cancel all that anyway. We are moving TONIGHT!"

Sinfest sat in stunned belief as Crystalize continues

"What's more I am getting my own district, Corktown, with Pine leading in downtown"

Sinfest finally less stunned looks up and responds with

"I am soooo happy for you. I know we will do great things in corktown making Detroit look good all around. I am excited and can't wait to help you out with your very own district. Our families have been intertwined for generations and this is really awesome. Congratulations my dear and I can't wait for us to get started."

Sinfest hugs Crystalize and rushes out of her house so he could pack

Pine was leaving the residence of Crystalize, after telling her the news of our move to Detroit, clearly getting tipsy from all the liquor he has been consuming. He saw a bright future ahead for their  families, a very bright one indeed.

Pine walked pasted Sinfest coming giving him a smile, before stumble walking to his car, where his driver awaited to take him home.

Shouting out the window to Sinfest, before pulling off, "Relax man, it'll all be ok!"

Upon hearing the great news that they will be moving to Detroit, Daba runs home to his shop to grab his best bottle of whiskey and heads straight to the new HQ.

Congratulations Pine and Crystalize!! Detroit is lucky to have you two helping it grow back.

TurkeyBear was having a nap when the Crystalize received the news. Having spent most of the previous day thinking that it was last, TB was exhausted. An errand boy knocked on his door and TB instinctively thought it was more trouble, perhaps another rogue has appeared and Crystalize required some assistance in taking them down. TB was never the kind of person to refuse a helping hand when needed.

Tipping the kid generously, he gently opened the letter and it seems that Crystalize has summoned him to her quarters. It doesn't seem pressing, so TB spent some time refreshing himself up before making the trip to Crystalize's home.

When he reached the mansion, he saw Sinfest and Pine taking their leave. They seemed joyful. Laughing at how silly they both look when they had too much to drink, TB managed a slight chuckle and let himself in - like he always do. Crystalize was looking at her window when he entered the room. Taking off his hat, TB approached his leader with a warm smile. She seemed different - she looks peaceful and somewhat, maybe it was due to TB's lack of sleep, glowing. Crystalize returned the smile with a huge embrace, before letting TB go and excitedly chirp.

"We're moving to Detroit!"

TB heart sank. He was the sexy beast of Chicago, has always been. Now he has to be one for Detroit as well. The burden was real, but he was happy to see Crystalize looking so happy.

"Well, I better start packing. That explains why Pine and Sinfest looks so drunk!"

Still getting settled into the city Arizona decides it is finally time to make her rounds, not like the words of a new gangster in this world will mean much but perhaps it would get her some slight acknowledgement from the people running the show. She remembered her mother speak of Crystalize and it was all good, not a single stitch of bad.

Arizona didn't have much, it was tough being new but she was able to scrap together enough money to grab a nice bottle of wine from the distributor. She got a piece of ribbon, silk to be exact and tied it around the bottle making it a more presentable present. With the bottle clutched in her hands she made her way through the streets of Detroit. I was only a 5 minute walk until she found herself in Corktown and just a mere moment or two later standing in front of Crystalize's new HQ. There were about 8 stair leading up to the door and on each step stood a big burly guard.

She made her way up the stairs, the first couple of guards gave her a glance then the further she made her way up the stairs the glance became stares. Finally making her way to the door she reached for the handle. One of the guards placed a hand on the door keeping it from opening.

"What do you want?"

Shocked Arizona glanced up at him.

"Uhm, I just wanted to show my respect and congratulate Crystalize."

Arizona showed him the bottle of wine.

"Leave your weapon with me and then you may enter."

Reluctantly she pull her gun out and handed it to the guard. He placed it in his pocket and opened the door.

"She is in the office at the end of the hallway."

Arizona nodded and headed in, she made her way down the hallway and right up to Crystalize door. It was cracked half opened, she could hear the chatter of a couple of people. Politely she knocked on the door and waited to be summonsed in.

"Can I help you?"

Arizona clammed up for a moment.

"Hey.. hello."

"Oh, I'm sorry just a bit nervous. I just wanted to congratulate you on the district. You don't know me but I have heard great things about you. So I just wanted to show you my respect."

Arizona placed the bottle of wine on Crystalize's desk.

"Congrats ma'am"
