Starting Wednesday at 16:00 Game Time - We will be holding an Open Mic Night on IRC in the main room #divinelunacy But... this is a competition Directly on the hour for 12 hours, a user will hold our attention with whatever method they seem best fit to entertain us.(While everyone else talks along derail you) For example: at 16:00, contestant #1 talks continuously (A few lines a minute) until 16:15 in front of everyone who shows to hear. There is a 45 minute break, then at 17:00, contestant #2 starts, and talks until 17:15. This continues for 12 hours and is eligible for 12 people plus three possible replacement back ups to fill in for a no-show 1-12.
The specs: - The Dirty Dozen: First 12 people that commit to a time slot by saying they are signing up , and say what time (that hasnt been taken already) they will go "on stage" - The Time: Wednesday the 19th, at 16:00, 17:00, 18:00 and so on until all 12 are done - The Distraction: Users can disturb you at a rate of no more than 1 disturbance line per minute. This is self moderated, soooo, keep your cool and limit it to 15 comebacks/distractions/quips/rickrollvideourls. - When it is time for you to perform, you start promptly at your time, and end a near exact 15 minutes later. You will not be prompted and required to watch your own timing. Switch a nick containing many capital X's (XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) so that you stand out in case there is a wall of text from other users. When you are done your presentation/set/slowly dying on stage - change your nick back to normal so that the next person can use it when its their turn. - Backups: The 13th, 14th & 15th person to sign up by saying they are signing up in this thread. They will have to be present the entire 12 hours in case someone no-shows. The three backups are given a 50 credit "thanks for covering up for that no-show jackass" bonus even if they don't perform. If the person did not start, #13 will start their piece 1 minute later (For example, if 18:00 is a no-show, #13 starts at 18:01 and ends at 18:02 - again, they are responsible for their 15 minute timing. If another person later doesnt show, #14 steps in, and lastly if a 3rd person no-shows, #15 steps in. - Prizes?: Yes. Hells yes. - Wtf do I say: Anything. Rant about politics, tell jokes, share stories, do whatever it takes to provide some form of continuous entertainment at the rate of at least a few lines a minute. Funny could win, seriousness could win, educational could win, a rant could win, a completely fabricated story could win. We ask that *YOU* type the content, not copy and paste from somewhere. How is a winner chosen? At the end of the event, anyone who has been there the whole time, PM me which time slot won in your opinion. Your name has to have been in the channel the whole time for it to be counted. These votes plus a few judges scores will be added together and top 3 winners chosen. They will win awesome stuff, and the other 9 will win stuff, but slightly shittier stuff. The backup 3 get their 50 credits. |

I'm pretty retarded when it comes down to figuring out game time/my time. I'd like a slot its 5:38pm here 7:38am game time. Advise a time for me that's not silly o'clock and I'll fill you in on some magical Aussie adventure moments. With love, Will/drexler P.s I might retire as my encore. |

I'm in for 19:00. This is kind of a scary proposition, but I believe it was Emerson who said you should do what you're afraid to do. And this seems easier than skydiving or skiing. So why not? |
