Ok, this is basically like facebook when you're chatting, there is a small icon that says the person you're talking to is currently writing, so you know that they are responding and not just ignoring you compleletly. Its basic idea, and I don't know if it would be useful to others but it sure as well can be useful to me. Any thoughts or supporting comments, or arguements can be posted.

Ingame chat would be nice, but I really don't see the point in adding a typing icon.

Adding to that - it'd be realistic if you could only speak to people in your current location - and an option to disable it altogether if you don't want to be bothered.

Ok well for pistones idea i don't think i would like that because as squishy said they would have to go off irc. Nujabes idea i don't like either because on irc thats one of the easiest ways to get drug prices and it is also a great help being able to talk to say someone in Philly when your in NY rather than having a huge message war.

I didn't have an idea, or a suggestion - more of an improvement to his idea.


I prefer just keeping IRC, to be honest.

The current systems which are set in place are perfect exactly the way they are. We don't need to know if people are replying or just ignoring us, if they don't reply then they are ignoring you - it's pretty simple.

If there were problems with IRC then I could understand them creating an alternative. As it stands though, creating an entire new chat program JUST so that you can have a 'currently writing' icon would be a big fucking waste of time, which I am 100% sure will never happen.
