The waitress placed the coffee on the table from where Rob was overlooking the boardwalk and the ocean beyond. As the august sun already began it's descend towards the horizon, Rob mused how easy he could fall in love with a place like this. Lake Michigan sure has it's beauty, but nothing like the Pacific that seemed to bring a gentle atmosphere to the shores of Los Angeles.

Rob stood up when BobbyZ entered the restaurant and the men shook hands. A few bodyguards scattered around the place and the waitress quickly came over with the menu. After having ordered and exchanged pleasantries, Rob explained why he had invited BobbyZ here.


Rob:
"Thank you for joining me for this interview. Our community has existed for quite some time and seems centered around a few core values. Today I'd like to discuss with you about one of these values, called Omerta. It's something that traditionally can be found written about in family rules and it is often expected that people understand what it is and live by it. I'd like to explore with you what Omerta is and whether it is still a relevant value for us today. To start things, how would you briefly explain Omerta to someone unfamiliar with the term?"

BobbyZ:
"Well first off thanks for having me today, Don Rob. Omerta is our code of silence. In our world I would say Omerta is very essential to a long lasting establishment. Without it a organization is bound to crumble."

Rob:
"Agreed, vital information should not be shared with third parties as that endangers any operation. In your experience as a crewleader is Omerta a topic you actually address with new members to your operation? Is it a value that needs to be instilled or do you think it comes natural to people?"

BobbyZ:
"Omerta to me is a unwritten law in our world. It's something that should be understood before you approach the door of this lifestyle or at least something you better learn quickly as you enter our world. Each of my members is required to understand the importance of it, as it is what holds everything together."

Rob:
"It's good to learn how important you consider Omerta to be. Common sense for seasoned criminals one might say, but still the leaking of intel is not uncommon in our society. What would you suspect is the biggest problem here: People not following Omerta or are people trusted too soon with vital information?"

BobbyZ:
"Well to be honest, I feel like its a mixture of both. In most cases a leader has to bit the pill so to speak on trusting someone to early. At the same time Omerta is a everyday code to live by. You can not pick and chose when to live by it. Therefore it's always in effect and should be respected."

Rob:
"I understand what you mean. The fast-paced lives we live sometimes push us to trust people simply because we have no other choice. What do you think are the most common reasons to break Omerta?"

BobbyZ:
"I think lack of faith maybe. People will do the most obscure things when their faith is lost in their leader. Also a lost of respect for ones leader can may cause the break of silence."

Rob:
"It's obvious you find Omerta a value of great importance. When you look at the whole community and recent times, how do you see the concept of Omerta is put in practice? Do you feel it's sufficiently present or is it lacking?"

BobbyZ:
"Yes, I think Omerta is still present certainly. At most I'll say our ways of handling it has changed."

Rob:
"Okay, one last question, before we wrap this up. Do you have any advice regarding Omerta to share for those who are trusted with vital information in this world?"

BobbyZ:
"Information is more valuable than money. Cherish it."



After the interview, Rob thanked Godfather BobbyZ for his time and sharing his thoughts on Omerta.

"I'd like to order a bourbon and toast with you on Omerta, but this venue seems too legit to serve us liquor. Thank you for your time. It's not like we have a newspaper in the country where I can publish these interviews, but I'll print some myself and distribute it to some of the underground bars found across the country. I hope that your words may inspire or spike debate on this very important topic."

After shaking hands once more, Rob watches as BobbyZ leaves the restaurant with his following. Rob checks the time on his pocket-watch and realizes it's time to find his way to the airport.
