The Lombardi Crime Family in Corktown Started by: JoeyO on Sep 05, '16 17:10

It was a picturesque, quiet morning in Corktown. The weather was starting to cool off as the end of Summer was coming and Joey was sitting out behind the Hardcase's Clubhouse smoking a cigar and enjoying the breeze. His mind wandered a bit but always came back to focus on a phone call he was expecting soon. He leaned back further in his chair, shutting his eyes and drifting off for a moment or two before he was woken up by a prospect with a nervous look on his face. Joey sat upright as he addressed the young man, "What is it? Is everything ok?" Joey said a bit startled, still blinking to allow his eyes the time needed to adjust to the sunlight.

"Y..Yes sir!" The prospect managed to say nervously, "I just didn't want to wake you from your nap!"

Joey chuckled lightly to himself and stands, stretching his muscles as he prepares to get on with his day.

"So then... what is it?"

"Well sir, The Godmother called... she asked that you prepare for her arrival as she will be here very soon! She said, "Everything is in order, we will be ready to set things up very soon!" She sounded excited sir!"

Joey started inside, talking to the associate from over his shoulder, "Perfect! I need you to send someone to my office right after she arrives! Can you do that?"

"Of course Mr. Olbose! Who would you like to see?"

His hand on the banister, and foot on the first step starting the ascent to his office Joey turns back with a smile on his face.

Some time passes and The Godmother's vehicle can be heard pulling up to the front of the HQ. It takes only a minute for Crystalize to enter the office grinning excitedly at Joey and embracing him with a hug. Accepting the hug Joey motions towards the array of alcohol on a nearby table and Crystalize makes herself at home, filling a glass with a fine Whiskey. Finally she sits with Joey and the two sigh contentedly.

"I trust your drive over went well?" Joey said, an attempt at small talk as they waited for the "Man-of-the-hour" to show his face.

Crystalize smiles and rolls her eyes jokingly before taking a sip from her glass and then speaking: "I'm excited to see his reaction when he see's these!" She dangles a shiny new set of keys in front of Joey, giggling a little just as the door starts to open. She quickly tucks the keys back into her pocket and goes back to her whiskey.

Their mutual friend enters the room, dressed nicely in a suit like he usually is even though he has done extensive work as a biker lately. He just never was the sort for leather and jeans... He stops for a moment at the doorway then enters calmly, closing the door behind him. He proceeds to have a seat facing Joey and Crystalize.

The silence is almost palpable but Joey and Crystalize can't stop smiling, their friend looks back and forth between the two of them with a confused look on his face.

"Is... is there something on my face?" He says, reaching to touch his cheek gently.

Joey laughs and then looks to Crystalize to allow her the chance to speak first. She clears her throat and sets the glass on a coaster beside her before beginning.

"You've done great work for us both, been extremely helpful and have become a close friend over our time spent together. We would like you to take the next step for Corktown though." She pauses for the dramatic effect before continuing. "Recently, TurkeyBear and Smash made an important move to Black Bottom and have been doing very well there! It's time for Detroit to grow again and the eyes are on our district. A spot is open for a new up-and-coming crew and it's leader, and we believe you may be the right man for the job." She smiles broadly as she tosses the keys to the shocked young man. He catches them, never breaking eye contact with The Godmother. He then looks to Joey and Joey gives a nod of approval before saying: "You're ready brother! I know you will continue to make us all proud!"

"It's such an amazing honor guys... thank you! I'll do the very best that I can, I'm sure I'll make you proud!" He stands and starts for the door before Joey stops him.

"Wait! You haven't even told us yet! What will you call your crew Sonny?"

Sonny doesn't hesitate, just grins and says:

"The Lombardi Crime Family"

Upon hearing the great news, Pizza-guy rushes over to the HQ.

First giving a polite nod to Crystalize and JoeyO before turning to the man of the hour.

Congratulations Sonny! Definitely well deserved! It has been a pleasure working with you and I am sure that will continue.

Pizza-guy turns back to the way he came and started quickly running because his pizza was probably burnt by now.

Smash was going about his duties on a busy Monday when he received the wonderful news of his old crew mate leading his very own crew in Corktown, upon hearing the news a big grin took over his face knowing that he was perfect to fulfil the role and looking forward to working with him in the future,

Smash got in touch with Sonny instantly to congratulate him and send his best wishes,

"It was a pleasure to work with you in a crew and i look forward to the future of Detroit with you and the Lombardi Crime Family"

Sometimes even the young die in times of war / At least you made an effort out of it.

Sorry to see your days were numbered, I hope to see the Lombardi's return and leave more of a mark. Salute.

Very sad because the  Lombardi family represented hard core mafia. What is this theme we got going on saying mafiareturns? Is it a new thing where we need to initiate the wild wild west?
