I would like to see the ability to change the amount of tribute you pay.  If you jack your percentage up to 30-40% of all earnings, that will really show your CL that you mean business.  At the same time, donating the money could achieve the same goal.  But in the real mafia, do you think that underlings commonly just give the bosses envelops full of money?  Or do you think that the bosses distribute the product, post their markup and percentage on earnings, then allow their underlings to distribute drugs or commit crimes, and have them then pay an adjustable tithe on each profit made. 

Say you're saving up 3 mill for a BG.  You have 2.8, you could turn your tribute down all the way.  Bust out that 200,00, then jack it way up to make up for it.  Something should probably be coded in, so that CLs can see what tribute percents are set at.  I believe they should also have the ability to set a limit that if a underling goes under said limit, the CL gets a notification and can handle the situation if need be.

The BOSS you WORK for sets your tribute amount.. Not you. You are in THEIR crew.. Not your own. You don't want to pay your tributes.. Go without boss and see how long you survive.

DLS is absolutely right. I doubt there is any plausible way for you to justify such a change roor. No matter how hard you may try. There is no way that will ever be given consideration. If you ever miraculously make it to a leaders position, you will see first hand just how backwards that theory is.

I want to show my CL that I mean business.  Which is why I wanted to jack my own tribute rate up.  To me, it doesn't matter who controls the tribute, as long as it's able to change.  So that if I feel like I'm behind in the earnings, I can catch up with ease and prove myself.

Sorry for the confusion.  Does anybody see a problem with the uppers (CL, RHM, LHM, other appointed crew members) having the ability to change tribute rate?  This would also help make a distinction between families.  As some CLs may want their tribute constantly at 30%, where others may only ask for 10%.

Look at it this way:  (If player controls tribute) What CL would want a new crew member who keeps their own tribute low? You said it yourself DLS.  I work for Serotonin.  I work to make him money, so he may buy BGs, casinos, heck, he can go buy 5 million ping pong balls, throw them in a pool and have a great time for all I care.

I believe it is up to each individual mafioso to show their CL that they're ready for the promo.  Obviously, if said mafioso never increases their tribute to get some pretty high numbers regarding their earnings, they're gonna be stuck at WG for a very long time.  In the end, setting yourself up to pay more tribute is more beneficial to your mafioso than having the extra 100k at the end of the day.  The people that don't understand this are the immature people unable to resist the urge or random wacking, etc.  This would help the CL identify if you're just some guy who cares nothing for his family, or if you really have the families best intentions at heart.

The leaders and their hands already have the ability to change the tribute rate... Some have it high, some have it low. You want to show your boss you mean business... DONATE IT. There's a wicked button on the bank page that allows you to send your money directly to your boss and guess what!!?? It counts toward your earnings.

Well shit.  I didn't know they could change it already, I also didn't know donations counted towards earnings.  That renders this suggestion pretty much useless. Sorry for the *spam* then, and thanks for clearing that up DLS!

I believe it is mentioned in the Tutorial under the Help menu.. You should give it a read, might help save you from this kind of thing again...

Yea, that's probably a good idea.  I skimmed it, I guess its time to sit down and take a nice read.  I know posting stuff like that is frowned upon when it's already addressed.
