The Highwaymen of Detroit Started by: HooLZ on Sep 18, '16 21:07

HooLZ was still shocked from the news that was brought to him by his Boss Borya and good friend AnomanderRake
He never thought this would ever happen to him. The opportunity to run his own family.... Who would have ever thought it was possible?
But none the less, he was more than happy to accept the challenge and would do everything in his power to make it a success.

HooLZ called his trusted friends Paranoid and Mercedes_Kompressor to tell them the good news and to inform them that he couldn't do this all alone, and that he would like his friends to help him. He asked them to come over for a quick chat.

When they arrived at HooLZ's place they talked about the business and what they needed.
After finishing the conversation it was time to address the crowd that had gathered outside of his residence in Detroit.

"Wonderful people,
I'm more than proud to present you....

The Highwaymen

And last but not least, a big thank you to my former Boss Borya and AnomanderRake for making this happen!"

Paranoid steps out onto the streets and looks back at his old HQ, smiling to himself as he thinks about the good memories he shared with Borya and the crew. He mumbles to himself before he approaches Borya with an extended hand.

Borya, I'd just like to thank you for welcoming me into the family and treating me as well as you have done. I'd also like to thank you for giving HooLZ the chance that I know he deserves. It has been an absolute pleasure with all you guys here in Downtown, I wouldn't change a minute of it.

Nodding to Borya, Paranoid turns to face HooLZ with a smile.

HooLZ, my dear friend... My family has worked closely with yours over the years, through the good times as well as the bad times.

I knew this day would come at some point, I just wasn't sure when. After reading over some of the notes that have been handed down through the generations, I can see you're as loyal as they come and a hard working mofo.

I look forward to seeing what you can achieve and serving you in any way possible. I know you have it in you to forge your own way in this world of ours, together with AnomanderRake you will do great things.

Paranoid pats HooLZ on the back before handing him a cigar and disappearing off into the night.

Mercedes has waited a lifetime to see this moment happen. She couldn't possibly be any prouder than she was right now.

"I've always been your biggest fan, you know that. You'll be a wonderful crew leader and your future is limitless. Congratulations, love," she says as she swipes away a tear and hugs him.

She follows HooLZ to his HQ and makes note of the address for future gifts of midgets, bouncy balls, and a few goats. She quietly makes her way to what will be HooLZ's center of operations, the back room, she leaves him a second box of very "special" cookies and smiles as she pens a note to accompany her most generous of gifts.

When in doubt and you need to get out of a tight situation eat one of these special little gems, two if it's urgent. I caution you though, more than two and you may need a change of trousers.

With Respects,

Cordelia

She quickly makes her way back outdoors smiling the whole way.

Jimmy was prancing around town with a hammer. Why you might ask, first thing from his tool box and he had business to take care of. Before that order of business he knew he had to "check in". Dashing into a local pub and grabbing a nearby phone Jimmy makes his call.....

Hello.... Yes I was just on my way.....Oh what. No shit . Like now?........ Well fuck I'll handle this after I gotta be there!

Slamming the phone down he tips the barkeep and bounces out heading to Hoolz new address. After arriving, he looks, sees a few faces he knows arrive and decides this is the place. Placing tje hammer back into his "toolbox" he enters and finds a drink. Waiting til the man of the hour is free Jimmy walks up.

Well this is a nice little turn out I must say, And well done. you've put in the work and been rewarded in our fair city. That is no easy task. But its well earned. I know many others want a word so I'll find my way to a drink or a fair maiden in need of company. But before I do I do have a gift for you.

Jimmy reaches into his toolbox he always has on him and hands him a hammer.

I know it doesn't look like much, but its a "personal favorite" but I feel you may need it at some point. Plus it will be in good hands. Well done my friend.

Feels like a fair maiden in need of company wandering the streets alone and tipsy...

HooLZ many congratulations! My mother knew you and had nothing but great things to say - you will bring something special to this world and I wish you all possible success!

In the back of the crowd stood The_Major. It appeared as if everyone from every crew in Detroit had gathered for the announcement. Earlier in the day, word of mouth was that we would have a new leader in the city. The Major had never met HooLZ personally but people said he was a great person, with experience and ready to put his 2 cents for the family. As he lit up a cigar, he heard a voice:

"Wonderful people,
I'm more than proud to present you....

The Highwaymen

"Beautiful" He thought, as HooLZ and the other leaders walked away from the crowd.

After the last of the Capo's had left the office, Rob stood up and walked towards the big window overlooking the upper bar where the day's boating activity came to an end. Business in New York was solid and reports from contacts across the country told similar stories for the other cities. Rob was most pleased by the intel that Mr. Hoolz was rumoured to have stepped up and started running his own operation. A wave of bourbon circled in Rob's glass, stirred by the gentle motion of his hand. He brought the glass up, took a small sip and turned around to sit at the desk, where he wrote a letter.

Dear Mr. Hoolz,

Word reached me in New York that you have taking up a leading role for a new part of Detroit's operation.
I remember the days when we worked together in Chicago. It seems so long ago now, but I have positive memories of your involvement in times of need.

I wish you all the best with these new responsibilities and I'm looking forward to learn what you will bring to Detroit.

Kind regards,
Rob Oakheart

ps: If you want to celebrate this properly, you know who to contact for a proper shipment of liquor.

After putting the letter in an envelope, Rob got up and walked into the living room of the New Amsterdam headquarters and held up the letter.

"I need for someone to make sure this gets delivered to Mr. Hoolz in Detroit."

It was no surprise when one of the eager new associates that had recently joined them immediately jumped up, grabbed the envelope and rushed out onto the streets.
