chestbrah paused for rest on one of the benches at the street corner and placed the folder he was carrying next to him on the bench. He withdrew a cigarette from his top pocket and muttered filthy habit to himself before putting it in his mouth to light. He'd spent the last week going from newspaper company to newspaper company to try and get gainful employment as a journalist or even just a reporter; he wouldn't sink as low as an obituary writer though. However, despite his willingness, it would appear that there wasn't any work going anywhere. Paper sales had been on a dip for a while and none of the companies had time for a newcomer in the scene.

How hard can it be, he thought to himself as he received a shake of the head from the 9th establishment. There definitely must be a market for a cheap, informative and provocative paper; unfortunately he had no connections and no money to start one up. He was willing to write for free, if somebody else might be willing to put a paper together - worth a shot. He still had ample resumes in his folder, unable to give them away he started tacking them up on lampposts and billboards in the street, perhaps they might catch someones eye and a job opportunity present itself.

Dusty had been strolling through the streets when she happened to stop at a lamp post. As she looked at it she noticed there was a paper stuck to it and she pulled it down to read. First she glanced at it curiously before she put it in her pocket. Carrying her way back to the headquarters she once again pulled out the paper at a nearby table. She noticed that RobOakheart was coming through the room and paused momentarily to wave him over.

"Hey boss, I saw this resume and thought that you would be interested in it." She picked up the resume and handed it to Rob. She waited a few more minutes while he read.

"We should get him here to meet me for an interview." He said.

He handed Dusty the resume and she began to write a missive to be delivered to chestbrah.

Mister chestbrah,

I have seen your resume posted on a lamp that I had happened to go by this evening. I was quite impressed and decided to pass it on to my boss, RobOakheart.

If you happen to still be looking for work I would like to invite you to New York for a meeting with RobOakheart. He will be expecting you at the headquarters of New Amsterdam.

Sincerely,
Dusty.

Reading her missive through once more before she folded it and placed it in an envelope. Putting his name on it she called over one of the younger couriers.

"I need you to deliver this to Flat 2a Dawdle Street, Paradise, Las Vegas as fast as you possibly can. I have included money for the flight and lodging once you get there."

Dusty smiled as she watched the young lad wander off in a hurry. She knew that the missive would be delivered in a timely fashion.

Report Post Tip

chestbrah finally stepped outside the taxi at the location he had been given in the letter by Dusty. He attempted to iron out the creases in his trousers before crossing the room and entering the establishment New Amsterdam.

It had been nearly four days since he first noticed the letter hastily stuffed in his letterbox, half opened. There was certainly none of the money that had been talked about in the letter to help him with his travels to New York. This delayed travel as he had to get together the necessary funds.. and then find the little shit that stole his money.

As chestbrah entered the building he was immediately accosted by burly men to either side. His briefcase was snatched from him and the men started to pat him down for a weapon.

"Name," barked one of the men.

Taken slightly aback, "chestbrah, I'm here to meet Ro.. Mr Oakheart."

"Never heard of him, think you're in the wrong place" - replied the other man.

Thinking quickly as he was forcefully ushered out the door, "Dusty sent me."

Both men looked at each before the bigger of the two nodded to the smaller one.

"Wait"
