Hannibal comes to the street shaking his head in disgust I can't help it; I have to make some kind of statement. Am I the only one that is seeing this? Or am I the only one who gives a shit? I see people disrespect funerals with responses such as "Cunt". I honestly do not get angry with this individual, for it's not his fault; this young Mafioso is merely following his 'well spoken' leaders poor example that only minutes before made his own distasteful comment. I won't dwell on this example, as I have seen more examples. Today I saw two...count them TWO BOSSES out right disrespected in one of the most public venues in this community. Not only that, but this individual is now very proudly wearing this proof around their neck, so that anyone that comes along can see. Now I'm not sure who I should be disgusted at more, as it seems this entire thing has gone full circle in some ironic way. Seems our Funeral disrespecting Boss has now got disrespected himself by another individual. Like I said I am not sure who I should be disgusted with more, those that are doing the disrespecting, or those that sit around watching the disrespect and do absolutely NOTHING about it.... actually someone fits both of those categories...hmm. Does it not matter that people shake their heads? Does it not matter that people are making a mockery of THE most important thing in this life...RESPECT. Should it matter WHO you are? Would I get away with calling someone a piece of shit at his or her funeral? When does it stop, where do we draw the line? WHO can step up and actually DO something about it. God knows if I could I would, unfortunately I am just a lowly jail breaker with nothing more then a mohawked black guy, a crazy pilot and another guy that's more interested in his car and girlfriend then the task at hand...but I digress. Tell me...what do we do? I guess it doesn't matter to some how they are viewed... 'Hannibal' Smith |

I'd have to disagree with you on your last point, Mr Smith (and yes, I'm aware that you're being ironic). Perception is everything in this world. So much of this life is politics, so losing favor with enough people can be dangerous to your well-being. As someone reminded me the other day, shading dealings will come back to bite you. Though the person that said this to me was mistaken, the point is still a very valid one; piss off enough people and you'll find yourself dead and there's no quicker way to piss people off than to be disrespectful. Respect is one of the principles that our business is founded on, and being disrespectful is something that you'll see from common criminals--not businessmen like us. I am equally disgusted by some of the behavior I've seen lately. I would hope such behavior ceases or I would expect something to be done about it. Crew leaders have to be vigilant about enforcing their rules about respect and ought to set an example whenever possible. What's to be done about it? I'd say families should continue to punish those that are disrespectful. If you see something that was out of line, be sure to bring it to the attention of the right person or people. Anyway, I believe I repeated myself so I will end my ramblings with that. |

I agree with both of you, Mr. Smith and Mr. Axe. Respect is a big thing in our world. To me, whatching your language is a sign of class. It doesnt matter whether or not your wearing rags or a clean-cut suit, proper language is the way to go. Also, if your gonna swear, do it in a private message, at least. If you must express your anger in such a way, say it to their face. Otherwise, show some self controle out there on the streets. Finally, do not, under ANY circumstances, swear in front of a lady. It's not that they can't handle it, that's not what im saying at all, but it's just not good mannors. It's horrible manners. I live by the code of Chivalry, and I believe everyone should. With that said, thank you for bringing the topic up. This should be drawn to everyone's attention. |
