It was an early Wednesday morning, and Vegeta had plans to meet with the Chicago Chairman himself, Nakamura, a meeting that had to be face to face and not something discussed between strangers. Vegeta didn't know what the subject of the meeting was gonna be about but he was about to figure it out soon when he meets the Chairman near a local diner with outdoor seating, a place that gives the area a calm atmosphere; in certain cases that is when you're out hanging with the people you know. All he knew that it was a matter of family importance; and family always come first, Vegeta wanted to look nice for the meeting with the Chairman, he put on a expensive tailored suit that was colored black and signed that he was ready for business, the suit was made by a famous tailor - old but still had the skills to make a suit that was just across a couple streets east of the pub in North Side, Chicago. Putting a small smile on his face that the tailor kept the business running all these years which is what surprised that is what dedication is about.
Vegeta left his apartment, it was only in a somewhat decent condition but he planned on moving houses soon so it wasn't such a big deal, just so long as he manages to get all the furniture moved then it's a done deal. Just as he was leaving his apartment a young kid wearing raggedy clothing was sitting in front of an alleyway eating bread, his face was covered in dirt and he had the status of being poor. He shook his head as he was trying to distance himself from most of the population due to his poor status, there was segregation; the lower class, middle class and higher class. And it was fair enough to tell almost just by judging someone by their appearance and that was noticeable by the kid's clothing and lack of hygeine but Vegeta walked past him and made his way over to the calm atmospheric diner to attend his personal meeting with the Chairman. His posture stood straight as he walked over, getting to the end of the street he crossed over then turned the corner, Nakamura got there early and was waiting as Vegeta was coming up behind him and his bodyguards, he took a seat right in front of him as the man himself stared at Vegeta giving him a simple nod, Vegeta returned the gesture and planted his hands on his lap.
"Good morning sir. You told me yesterday that you needed to speak to me, what is it about?" Vegeta asked. |

The Chairman always had his weekly golf outing with the mayor on Wednesday's at 1 PM. The poor mayor tried to share all sorts of tips from his rather disappointing golf game. The man always shot in the mid-90s, for Christ's sake. Nakamura had become quite accustomed to the real reason for the outing, it was the mayor's way of flexing his muscles and shake some more cash out from the Windy City's number 1 attraction, La Cosa Nostra. Before the golf outing, Nakamura had an important meeting with one of his guys. A guy whose bloodline has always been loyal to Nakamura's. A soldier who was willing to put his life on the line day in and day out for the Chairman. A man that knew no bounds when it came to cash flow and keeping the local authorities off of their path. Vegeta, the Prince of Rush Street, as Nakamura liked to call him, was sitting in the Godfather's uptown office in a fine three piece suit made by one of the best in the tailoring business. Nakamura was pacing back and forth, with a Cohiba in his hand, occasionally take a long puff from it. The man finally spoke up.
Nakamura continued pacing back and forth for a few more moments. Finally, he stopped in his tracks and looked over at Vegeta. The two locked eyes for a brief moment, and then the famous words came out of his mouth like a ball being shot out of the end of a cannon. "It seems we have a fucking rat in our operation. The sunnovabitch is running his fucking mouth to the feds." He continued pacing a bit longer before walking over to the window that had the magnificent view of Lake Shore Drive and East 63rd. He stopped to watch the boys delivering the newspapers and the men in business suits scurry into their morning offices like the ants gathering food. Taking another long puff from the Cohiba, he turned and looked for his coffee on this desk. Only this time, he has not made any coffee just yet. Disappointed, he glances back at Vegeta once more. "Well?! Do you know who I'm talking about?" |

Vegeta pondered for a moment as the Chairman shouted the question out towards him, though he still remained calm and could tell what his mind is probably thinking right now and he was probably worried that the authorities would be knocking on his door any minute with the words saying "Sir, you're under arrest." But after all, Vegeta had connections running through The Loop, mostly along the line of Corrupt Agents working for the FBN so finding the rat that threatens the entire business wouldn't be a hard task for himself. He always kept the Chairman out of any papers, authority minds, public eye that could catch a whiff of something that may not feel right; so he would promise to do right by him. "I know exactly who you're talking about. I got Agent connections running all around The Loop, wherever the rat's hiding it won't be for long - he won't even last 24 hours by the time I begin talking to who I need to to get the job done, you can trust me. I've always kept you out of the mind of any cops doing work by the book, kept you a friendly face in the public eye so it doesn't reveal your inner workings of who you really are, and the paper. I'll make sure you didn't have a single thing to do with this like always, not even a word about you. What do you want me to do with him once I find him, you want me to bring him to you or just straight up finish the sunnovabitch off?" Vegeta fixed the collar of his suit, giving a firm eye to Chairman Nakamura himself, the man behind it all. Vegeta interlocked his own hands and set them right below his stomach in a relaxed position as he sat with great posture in the chair as he wanted to figure out what to do with the rat once he found him once and for all with no other place in the world to hide; it only takes a little exposure which can cause someone to go crazy especially even for the most important people, but a rat? No, that was different. They like to be kept secret from any other mafioso out in the world but after all once a mafioso finds out there's a rat sniffing around them - it won't only be just one person searching. |
