| Changes in the Boroughs | Started by: ChristianGato on Oct 07, '16 17:48 |

Over the coming days I will be announcing changes within Manhattan. One of the reasons that lead me to roll out the Boroughs scheme was to support me in finding capable, driven individuals who can make their own name, to help build in place of those I have lost in the war. The other reason was to offer that opportunity to the world. My entire crew was scattered in the conflict, an event which I have never recovered from. I miss the people management associated to a bustling HQ, or district in this case, and the uptake to the Boroughs project has never quite taken off. I am pleased however say that we tried something, and that I would not consider it a failure. A select few people proved that they had what it took to make their own bones and should be recognised for that feat. So with that, I am closing the Manhattan Boroughs project. Further details will emerge regarding the approach we will take moving forwards, though this is likely to focus more on housing and training new faces to our shores. I want to extend my sincere thanks to those who made use of that opportunity, and advise that those who are crew leaders and crewed in Manhattan are to be treated as such, in accordance with our rules. Con rispetto, Christian |

I'm sorry to hear the end of your boroughs system; I thought it was a very good, well thought-out idea. Given time and the right circumstance, I believe it could have been very successful, but I suspect you were somewhat hindered by the opening of the other cities having coincided with your decision. Good luck with the rebuild of your family. |

Very disappointed to hear this also. Had I not been with a family when this venture was announced I would most certainly have participated in this. It was a very fresh approach that I quite frankly believed would be somewhat innovative for our community. As green said, the opening of our cities allowing for more growth was likely the reason for the low uptake, though that said it did still allow for some very good individuals to rise on their own from a civilian to become a made man in your district and that won't be forgotten very quickly. |

This was a good project. Unfortunate it has come to an end. I, like slash, would have taken on this venture myself had I not been already aligned with the Windy City. I hope the best for your continued efforts in expanding the New York district of Manhatten. |

| I too have to agree with Slash. My ancestors participated in an experiment much as this and from reading their journals from that time they seemed to truly enjoy themselves. Even though it was a much more dangerous landscape as he wrote he was shot at at least once a day from the start it still seems like he had a blast. I too believe that the low uptake in members to your orginization and others within New York. I can assure you that you are not at all alone in this. This is something that all families that are currently recruiting are experiencing. The trick is to make yourself stand out from the rest of the bunch, hopefully in a positive manner. Best of luck to all of New York. | |

HI DADDY, WHO'S HIGH PITCH? I would like to thank Godfather ChristianGato for bringing something fresh to This Thing of Ours. Perhaps my Don green is right; the timing was not right for this move, obviously through no fault of anyone involved in the rolling out of this project. But I do hope that what ChristianGato did goes to show the leaders of the future what is possible when good looking men put their heads together. Good ideas come about. I believe this was one of those good ideas and hope to see it revisited in the future. HI MOMMY. |

FUCK sorry what I meant to say was that this is what happens when GOOD MEN put their heads together... not good LOOKING men. I didn't mean to say that, sorry for the mistake. |

ChristianGato It is sad to see this end. I give you a huge thumbs up for trying to implement it straight after a earth shattering war when most folk are seeking out established families for better protection. Though we should expect that from a man that was willing to duel an enemy at a crucial part of the war where the loss of your life could very well have turned everything on its head. I hope this dont deter you from trying to bring more to the table we know this place needs fresh ideas like this. All the best with rebuilding your district GodFather Gato |

It will never take off as long as you are surrounded by the same mentality that killed similar ideas. I do not need to explain. |

It's such a change that when so many ask for change and have it offered it seems too good to be true. Unfortunately MalcolmShephard showed sometimes have to grip opportunity and pull yourself up to success is only a shame it was short lived for him. I look forward with curiosity to future plans. |

Similar changes have been exercised in the past. The end results are always the same. Fresh approach and innovation does not stand a chance when the"fresh" are continuously viewed as nothing more then sitting ducks in their short time. |

Based on what I've heard, it seems like this was an interesting idea that never really got its shot. Recruitment, after all, tends to happen in waves. In between wars, people battle for every individual thug, but when a large number of people lose their lives at once, dozens of new arrivals show up to fill these jobs. I'm curious what would have happened if this project had been launched 48 hours earlier, if it had continued through another large wave of new arrivals, and/or if it had not been accompanied by the subsequent "opening" of the world, which seemed to provide a similar type of opportunity elsewhere for anyone interested. I'm a gambler- and I'd bet that somewhere down the line, this most interesting system will get a another shot, and it will hopefully be in a context more conducive to success . |
