Due to some internal issues AnomanderRake has been removed from his position as a leader in Detroit. Please give anyone wearing a Mischief Makers tag time to find a new home within Detroit. This protection order will be in place for the next 7 days. None are to be touched before October 15 at 15:50. Thank you.

On a personal level I am disappointed to see AnomanderRake fall. My ancestors spoke very highly of him. But this is La Cosa Nostra, and murder comes with the life we choose. 

I am interested in the circumstances surrounding this death. I have heard no word of a rogue wandering the Streets. This leads me to assume that this death came about due to hostilities against AnomanderRake from inside his own city. If this is true, then I have no choice but to declare that any Made Man or above that takes advantage of this protection order is a coward, and does not understand what it means to be a member of La Cosa Nostra. As long as the killer of your crew leader still lives, you should fight to the death in order to avenge them. Blood in blood out.

Mr Backup I would agree with you to a certain point as I just did say something similar not too long ago however in this case you are wanting men and women to fight for a guy who decided to pack his bags and travel to an Island for a vacation and not bother to speak to any of his people about it ahead of time.

This occurred to the point where many of his members became disgruntled and asked to pack their bags as well, this became an issue but not the one that led to his grave. Ophelia can speak on that when she wishes to but for now what I will say is many in his family were unhappy with him having so many men with such positions in the family that joined Mr Rake on his vacation, so to ask these people to fight for him does not seem very justified now does it?

insta you say that he ran a great ship yet you were not here during the times he decided to go on his vacation? So what you mean to say is while he was not vacationing he was a great leader? I will not argue that as it is a possibility, however, he did go on vacation and he did lose many members and he did have members under him who were disgruntled and this is not some twisting it how we want, this is facts that I know about. 

I do not need to come on here and save face, the man seemed to at one point be a good leader yes, but to try to justify his vacation period with how he did when he was not on vacation is a little silly is it not insta?

Evolve I thank you for giving us the reasons for your move. You did not need to and I appreciate that. 

What is my business is the meaning of being a Made Man. I would appreciate it if some of Anomander's button men and women that choose to jump ship could come and explain why they think their actions are justified. Were each and every single one of them unhappy with his leadership? If so, did it constitute part of the oath they took that their loyalty had conditions regarding the frequency of their leaders vacations? I am slightly puzzled because I have heard that AnomanderRake was active in this world right up until the moment of his death.

He came back and wanted this entire city to be led by him without speaking a word to us in weeks, he insulted not only myself but Ophelia in his mails to the both of us which led to him being killed. 

He caused his own death but it will be avenged now it seems. Anyways there is your answer insta.

while I know that the poster here is dead, I would like to clear the air on AnnomanderRake's inactivity. Yes, He was IA and I can understand that people wanted to leave the family. However, to say that there was no explanation to the family as to the reasoning behind it, that is inaccurate, albeit it was sent somewhat late.

After speaking to a few people I can understand a little better. I cannot blame Ophelia or Evolve for their actions. Nor can I blame the reaction that came from it. Ophelia and Evolve did what they thought was best. The only other leader was HooLZ in DT. What transpired or why he wasn't involved is none of my business but I can't blame the other two for the actions that they took.

Unfortunately perhaps they did not see what a domino effect it would have? But I cannot fault them for not wanting someone they felt snubbed them and that was not being seen enough in our community to rule a city they clearly felt something for. 

I hope all of the fallen rest in peace though and their kin can move on.

Yeah that seems to be pretty much it in my eyes Dusty.  Anomander, he was an awesome dude and I enjoyed my time with his family.  But if you aren't here you can't lead.  That said, the reaction from his removal is kinda what I would have expected as well.  

Sometimes it's best to think of the bigger picture than to throw yourself at a cause without having put in enough planning and diplomacy first. Maybe this is a lesson that Opehelia and Evolve's kin have learned from this experience?  Maybe not?  Either way, given the situation they were handed with Borya's retirement, it was unfortunate to watch the city eat itself.

It leaves us to wonder though...maybe what we witnessed is part of why he retired to begin with.
