Where do I start. It's been an eventful weekend for the cities, the first real conflict since the war that shaped our land. Manhattan, however, has been sleepy for some time.

You all know my recent efforts in trying to instill change and opportunity. Though ever since I challenged the Godfather of Manhattan, I have felt like it was a position taken in desperation, not earned. As a result, I was left with a small 10 man operation as my previous crew was scattered when my sister, Amelia, was gunned down during the conflict. 

I have since struggled to find a candidate to step up as a Caporegime, while adhering to the approach of allowing those fresh faced and motivated individuals that opportunity. To set up someone who has been a long term friend of my line would be hypocrisy now, wouldn't it, considering our ambitions for this world.

First there was Santino, who was by far the most inspiring individual I have worked with, that was also new to these shores. He stood out among everyone else that I dragged into my crew from the jobs board, and was surely destined for greater things. Sadly, I have not heard from him in some time. I can only pray that he is safe, wherever he has ended up. 

Second came Malcolm Shepard. An eager, charismatic persona that would have been an ideal caporegime. His family line a mystery to myself, I was trusting his own display of respect and commitment before deciding to name him as caporegime of Manhattan. I would be announcing that to you today, however he was gunned down in the waning hours of last nights war.

So here I am, a Godfather without a district. I have accepted in recent hours that the chances of me finding a suitable individual, who inspires me to trust them in the shaping of my operation, while I am sat up here in my golden throne of an office, are slim. Those that make up my crew, are mostly people I trust from previous encounters, or they knew my father, Sam. None of which fill the criteria I am looking for in a future captain.

This evening I have discussed my situation with Don Oakheart and Chairman Nakamura, and have come to the decision to sell up shop and move out of the city. 

I will be taking up a new operation in Downtown, Detroit. This is driven by the intention to meet the objectives of Don Oakhearts plans for the country,  to offer support and protection to the remaining operatives in that city and fulfill my own desires to have a more visible presence, walking the streets and meeting new faces.

This is not a power play, as I fully understand the implications that this has on my abilities and strength, however I have never been driven by power or domination. I'm a builder, my approach is to plant seeds and watch them grow. This move is also in no way associated to the events of last night.

I know a Godfather should never turn his back on his territory, I however have very little left of what I originally landed with in Manhattan. It seems like I was never meant to continue my fathers work in these boroughs. This feels like the only other option to bring about a sense of achievement to my life, before these old eyes close for good. Maybe one day I'll take a Godfather position again, however for now, that title is ill deserved if I cannot manage a successful operation first.

Detroit is a new chance, among the other goals and ambitions, I'm looking forward to breathing some fresh life into it, working closely with Don HooLZ and opening a busier HQ with fresh potential. I was raised in this city by a man called Big Charlie, before I moved out and began my life in this world in Chicago. It will be good to walk those streets again.

Congratulations on this next episode of your career, my friend. I'm happy for you and curious to learn how you and Mr. Hoolz will rebuild Detroit.

Sorry to see your attempt fall through in Manhattan, I would have liked to give it a go since my father was gunned down in that war, but alas it was not meant to be I guess. I hope your new chapter in Detroit proves to be fruitful for you and fulfilling.

Best of luck on the west coast Mr Gato, I look forward to seeing Detroit grow into the vibrant and booming city it's been countless times over the years. Without a doubt you'll do wonders.

It will be a change to go from the city that never sleeps with his buildings and weather but as you said, in Detroit you will be working with some great people such as Don Hoolz so I feel the future is exciting for you and I wish you the best of luck

It is great to see a want for improvement not just power and that is hard to find.

I must admit Don ChristianGato, I'm not entirely certain I can comprehend this choice. It's not every day you see someone vacate their Godfather position to move to another City entirely and take up a leadership role there. Perhaps this unique move will prove to be the right one for you, it certainly sounds like you have every faith it will so with that in mind I do of course wish you all the best in your new venture. I just don't really know why you didn't wish to take up the same new role but still within New York as that City also still requires an awful lot of re-building.

I look forward to watching you and HoolZ re-build Detroit though, and now will be looking eagerly to New York in the hope that perhaps RobOakheart will fill the vacant Godfather shoes there and begin the process of rebuilding New York?

All credit for trying something new even if there are negative attitudes towards certain ideas, I find it surpising really that people have had a bash at you for the whole Manhattan project, yes similar things have been tried in the past some with limited success some failed miserably, but I ask this is it not better to try and fail or are people so set on stagnant ways?.

You can have the best idea in the world but it's the people that make it work or in many cases make it fail, so even if something has been done in the past and failed who's to say it won't work at some point in the future?.

All I hear are people banging on about change but to have real change there has to be a collective of people willing to do so, too many people talk about making changes but few ever have the courage to actually do so.

Given the diversity of the cities now all of which are occupied for the first time in a long long time I wouldn't say everything has been a failure quite the opposite and that is all credit to both you Don ChristianGato and Don RobOakheart you dared to make the change and have done far more than just talk about it like most do and that is always a good legacy to leave behind, I look forward to seeing what you now have planned for DT and I wish you the best of luck.

I'll echo what others have said and commend you on stepping down as Godfather of Manhattan in favour of seeking further success, I don't know of many others that would take on this challenge.

I have to admit I've been a little detached from these streets for a little while and haven't followed progress in New York like I would have liked. I have however seen more than enough of you over the last couple of days to know you're doing what you feel is right, I'm sure you're going to bring nothing but success with you to Detroit. 

I very much look forward to working with you and seeing what comes over the next few weeks.

What an absolute shame this is! I bloody adored that whole change, it something had i had been born at a different time, id have absolutely taken part in. I think it was a brilliant plan to implement within a city, it was a risk, but a worth while one for the betterment of the community. In saying that it takes real balls to stand out here and put yourself on that pedastool and admit that at this time, it might be too much of a reach and there is nothing wrong with that. We strive for change, we want better things but ultimately somethings just cant come to fruition like we had hoped.  

There is one thing that i know for sure, no matter what ChristianGato decides to do next, i can safely say that it will be for the betterment of our world. If nothing else you can never, ever deny the mans taste for change and progression. As other have said, to step down as GF and move your operation is brave. It just shows how far he will go to invoke change and show us that, out-of-norm decisions dont mean that they are bad for business. I sincerely wish you all the luck with whatever you do going forward.
