Marketplace Offers, Minimum period before cancel Started by: MavisBeacon on Oct 19, '16 20:15

As most of us have observed, the marketplace is filled with offers updating in the real time. Two sellers fighting over sales drives them to lower their price over and over.

Now this in itself is fine, as it promoted actively watching the market to ensure you have the lowest price, but still selling for as high as you can.

However, i think we can add an element, forcing listings to stay on the board for a minimum of 1 hour.
This prevents users from canceling and reposting at a lower price.

They should have a 30 second grace period to cancel in case they post a typo in the price or amount.
However, after 30 seconds, that listing is closed off for an hour.

Although both ways require different approaches, i think it would be interesting to put an emphasize on credit management when lobbying for lowest price postings.

Perhaps an equivalent that would have the same effect would be to simply limit the amount of listings one can post in a given day?

I like either one of these ideas. Good thinking!

Not being able to cancel from left side or right side for an hour wouldnt work if that same user has more listings they could just put up. Maybe in order to jump someone you have to put 5k every time. Yes some will push to be on top both sides, but in all they are still losing. However having a difference from both sides of 50k-100k would put a stop to it. For example credits selling for 495k you are only able to list on the right side no higher than 395k or 445k.

Daria instead of limiting the amount a member can do in 1 day, maybe limit the amount that can be in the market at a giving time. The market is a great financial market for members who are earners and or some use it just like gambling.

Or treat it like a hitlist you cancel out with a certain percent going back into the game. Just a thought?

Deces, I do like the thought of a cancellation fee.

I think having your credits frozen though, would at the very least allow for better credit lists. You wouldn't just keep posting 10 credits for sale when you only have lets say, 25 credits that you wish to sell 10 of.

Report Post Tip

Why would you want to do this? I don't think the lower prices are a result of this so much as it seems to go a long when we get better deals when purchasing and incentives, after war time and just when some people with a mad amount of credits want to move or purchase for what some would consider an absurd price compared to current prices. I wouldn't like having my money or credits essentially locked away for any period of time.

Report Post Tip

I would want to do this to eliminate the hassle of 2 people constantly deleting their most current listing and dropping the credit price by 100.

If I have 25 credits, and wish to sell 10 of them, with the current platform, ill just keep re-listing my 10 everytime someone posts a lower price, to ensure my credits sell first.

However, if my listing is going to be frozen for one hour, i'll be more selective with my credit price listing. If i need the money asap, ill post maybe 15-20k lower.

If the big-time credit hustlers want to start a battle war below this point, let them, but at least any other postings they have will have those credits frozen for at least 1 hour.

I think it adds a more complex method of working the marketplace, rather then just setting an alert for a price lower than what you posted, then caneceling your post and re-posting it for $100 less than the current lowest offer.
