| Increasing the level requirement for GF | Started by: Bjorn_Ironside on Oct 24, '16 13:33 |

Hi all, I have thought of this for a while longer now and I thought to throw it out here. We all know that taking godfather is a hard feat and it comes only to a select few of us, but it seems the level requirement is very easy. Seeing people reach level 60 in under 40 days shows it does not take too much discipline to be that level in 120 days. Also reaching level 60 for many seems to be a target and then sit back and do not work on their leveling anymore. I would believe that shows lack of energy that I wish no GF would have. So I would like to bring a proposition to have the minimum level for GF raised to 65, which does show a determination and endurance I would like a GF would display on a day to day basis |

I dont believe just upping the units needed to make gf is the right way to go. Like you have said, people get 60 units on 40 days, that leaves then an abundance of time to still get 5 extra units. If you're sincere about a change like this then you need to think wider. Think about what game aspects could contribute etc. i dont know, something like thye have to have a crew in a specific city for a certain amount of time etc etc...think wider. Raising level alone would not be enough to make it much more harder. |

I would agree that upping the number of units isn't the answer here. Increasing the grind doesn't change that. I agree, as insta said, that there could be a better requirement here, since the title of "Godfather" is essentially a Don who has earned the respect of the community and their family. Perhaps something could be built into the respect/presence aspect. Perhaps a certain number of public appearances? (Although this could lead to spamming, accusations of spamming, and all sorts of this.) Perhaps a need to be in a certain city for X amount of days, as insta mentioned? Perhaps some sort of vote within the city or district whether people would recognize this person as a Godfather? I don't love these ideas (they have some major issues, I'm sure)- but I'm just trying to throw out the types of things I'd rather see than a simple level increase. |

| You could even link it into the achievments page. You just need to really look at all playable aspects of the game and try to link it in. If you really want to see a change like this gather pace. | |

I'd like to point out the 60 units in 40 days is fairly uncommon. I've done it a few times and I can say for certain that it requires SERIOUS time and dedication. people who work full times jobs or have family/children and play less time on here really shouldn't be made to be incapable of getting GF units by 120 days, just because a few people are capable of dedicating a lot of time to teh game.
I don't think that GF requirements are even an issue in all honesty. 30+ members, 120 days without being shot in the face, wacking back or making a mistake that gets you HQ'd or admin'd and then 60 units of exp are more than enough to have the right to declare yourself a godfather of the district.
As for the idea that people should strive to continue ranking after reaching 60 and not just sitting back... i actually don't understand what the issue is for that, that requires changes to the game to be made. what does it matter to you if someone continues to petty and jail after they reach 60 or not? :s if you feel someone has gotten GF and stopped interacting in the game, stopped posting and y'no, doing stuff, that's probably less to do with their units as much as it's their attitude towards the game. If that's the case, perhaps another suggestion to do with HQ bonus being directly affected by their posting/communications, similar to how vision is treated, instead of just loyalty? That way it'll incentivise the CLs and GF's to actually take a role in leading and communicating instead of sitting back? |

I have to agree. It's very easy to get the points/units/XP to technically attain the rank of Godfather. It's not hard to get auth these days either. Getting the 30 members is easy if you get your friends to "loan" you members when that special day comes. Honestly, it isn't as big a deal anymore. People live forever. A one year old account isn't unheard of. A six month old account isn't either. Something has to change because the rank of Godfather is just another rank to some. There's no real challenge. Upping the units isn't the answer. Anyone can click their way up the ranks. I've seen crew chats that make me cringe. "Ooo, get the units. Jail jail jail!" then you look at that person has never posted and probably doesn't read the Streets at all. They click and interact in G1/G2 or Crew Chat. I've never been one for posting requirements, but maybe it's time we look at something in that manner for Godfathers, whom are supposed to be setting examples for the community and one part of that is boosting the forum activity since it IS a forum based clickety click game now. |

| I have to disagree with your suggestion myself. You're wanting code to fix an issue with determination and discipline which is nearly impossible. The only way you could code something like this I believe is tying in prowess or something of that nature that fluctuates with the amount of work put in. I also don't think this is the greatest idea as not everyone can rank like the examples you provide, in fact very few can do that as it takes a massive amount of time to rank that high in that amount of time and honestly you're only asking for more clicking, not necessarily anything of any meaning. I think this should be if anything more controlled by the player base. | |

Personally see no issue whatsoever with the existing Godfather requirements or the level requirement associated therewith. |

Believe it or not, 65 units won't really make that much of a difference - they already made it up to where they are, you don't show dedication just by getting units, it's much more than that. |

| Anyone can click their way to 60 units before min. time. That just shows you can be a click monkey. That does not show that you have the ability to lead a crew much less a district or city. | |

I agree 60 units is fine but if haven't learn what to do in 120 days. Then I don't think they never will. So I say leave it alone |

Look a lot of people have real Lives what your asking is for people to quit jobs and kids and family's any person who gets 60units in 40days no offense to any one who can do that but that means they don have a real life even when all I was doing was this game selling drugs and jobs ect it took me 35 days just to get to lvl 30 or so and I plaid ever chance I get but raising lvl would be asking people to quit anything not mr related 60 is a big enough feat |

I've done just that in less than 40 days, with a family, working full time, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd having a life. Many people have. It's not that hard if you know what you are doing. I'm 13 days old now, I have 35 units, I work 40 hours a week, have a life and family. Pretty sure I'm not the only one. |

How about Godfathers having to maintain those units? They begin to lose them over time and must keep up a workload to maintain the units required? Just an idea. |

I like the idea of a vote within the district. Perhaps kind of like the loyalty setting already place for crewleaders, but a new one relating to that districts current godfather that is only available to Mademan+. If not enough mademen are loyal to their districts godfather the godfather reverts back to Don. It may make Godfathers more active amongst their district and possibly raise the value of a button at the same time. |

| I like the idea of severodvinsk. A godfather must be well respected by their members in the city and that can only be accomplish if his members would vouch for him, the made man and higher ranks. It will pushes them to be more proactive amongst it cities. | |
