For one your discription of the manic state is off. Having had this disorder since I was 14, and having experianced a manic state in all forms I can personally tell you that it is far differant.

First off what your describing is called rapid cycyling and is most common in teenagers. Each mood last hours at the least and goes up to a few days not seconds like your implying.

Second Im quite aware of the contributing that manic depressed people have given to this world such as that of Van Gogh,Ernest Hemingway, Mark Twain, and the countless others who have been essential to our lives and the development of the modern world.
