What is your idea?
What does your idea entail? What is the positive impact of your idea? What is the negative impact of your idea? How may your idea affect the rest of the userbase? F*CK dot org. a okay game with 9 people playing. You sound like a fan ? |

not sure how this works.
if someone has been kidnapped are you suggesting they be kept for 3 days in a sort of admin jail unable to do anything in game? :s if so, absolute nope to this idea. |

The kidnap function will keep someone prisoner. Even if it's only 1 day. Where the player will not be able to do anything! Maybe chance of escape every few set hours.
Did Mafioso not kidnap people ? Can raise the difficulty higher than killing as you can be killed, cleaned out and ransomed to you family. |

Tommy, you won't get very far if you continue to reply so aggressively. Like Bender, I can't see how this would work. Ok, so you kidnap someone... how does that restrict them, if at all? If it doesn't restrict them, how does it affect them? Do they get a toast saying they've been kidnapped? Does their boss get a notification? You've also mentioned killing the victim; does killing a character actually kill the character? Because I can guarantee you, that would be very under-utilized here; if someone was to kidnap someone who hadn't done anything to deserve it, it would cause a war. If someone had done something worth of death, why would the attackers announce their intention to attack by kidnapping someone three days in advance? I'd say this would be better suggested as an NPC kidnap, and even then, I'd say it'd be best done as an OC as there are kidnap felonies already coded, which are available after level 55. As it stands, you've just sorta thrown out a vague idea with no real substance behind it, I'm afraid. |

Hey Rorschach, I'm not being aggressive at all, and this should be looked at as a killing tool which basically it is. Starting a war comment makes no sense... does it not cause a war if you shoot someone normally... ?
Okay, soo let's say you kidnapped someone. It's almost like being in jail. No contact except with the kidnapper. You would naturally see the message.. you have been kidnapped. It's like shooting someone. Maybe auth is necessary for the kidnapper. Wouldn't matter. The kidnapper has options : Kill you (yes dead.. like gunshot), Empty your pockets, Release you , ransom you to your family and communicate with the kidnapped The kidnapped has limited options : chance of escape , communicate with kidnapper
I don't understand your comments about the war or undeserved. Normal killing qualifies both scenarios so what is difference? The way this changes the game is that someone literally disappears with no trace. W/S could read... you saw **** kidnap Rorschach Gives a more dynamic approach to life and death. A gun is final... kidnapping has options.

Perhaps I'm not following you completely, so I'll explain what I mean: Ordinarily, if you shot an affiliated mobster without due cause, their Don would seek restitution because we're not gang-bangers, we have a structure; a heirarchy. You have to get authorisation to remove someone, generally speaking. an IA street thug, sure - they die without specific authorisation all the time because they're unaffiliated, but to kill a member of a crew would certainly cause friction. If you were to kidnap a street thug, there would be no chance of extortion because they have nobody willing to pay their ransom, so it could only really be done with affiliated members. Affiliated members are protected by their crew and their CL would not take kindly to being extorted. Furthermors I can't really see it being viable with playing characters, because you're depriving them of the ability to play for days at a time. |

I like this idea however i have a small addition if you will... So you get kidnapped right, i think a WS should be sent out to a random active person in the district of the kidnapping. With the name being jumbled and * out depending on your stealth and their vision... I mean theres no possible way that you'd get napped and no one saw what happened right? |

interesting. Basically its function will be similar to wacking but this time the assailant has the option to set the victim free upon receiving ransom from the victim's crew or to just kill him. Everything else will be the same except for the involvement of money. Isince by being kidnapped you are good as dead, the chance of success of kidnapping someone should be based on gun strength and BGs, just like in wacking. |
