In all my years playing this game I've always noticed that Chicago has always been the strongest city in the game the crew that controls Chicago ends up having all the power the same applies sometimes with Detroit. You've never seen a city like say LA or LV become a powerhouse in this game the same with NY/PH they always ends up second fiddle. Why is this? Is it because of the high drug prices in CH/DT gives those cities an advantage or maybe Chicago has always had good leadership.

There has been many a time when NY have been the power house city. I mean it COULD be due to drug prices, but I am more positive that it is due to leadership, or lack thereof.

You could also look at the flight timers CH/DT being located right in the middle can go to the east or west anywhere they want every 6 hours while It takes NY/PH 12 hours if they fly to LA/LV now they could always fly back using a private flight but still.

I've been playing the game since 2009 on and off and yeah I've seen New York run something for a short time I think even when New Orleans was still around for a short perio  they were also a powerhouse. But I've always seen in my time that the group who controls Chicago controls the game.

All things considered more recently due to drug prices and flight timers as they are now in the area it is the case that these cities are the powerhouse more often than not. That said we shouldn't forget the powerhouses of the past.  For example, the DeadlySin era when Philadelphia basically ran the game for over 2 years and the Marietta era when Detroit had a stranglehold on everything along with around 60% of the player base.

Trends come and go for various reasons, it's up to us as a community to make the proper adjustments.
