Listening to all your thoughts here intrigues me. Its intriguing that after the death of the three pillars its apparent for those that have made the effort to stand up and say something, that they still believe in a lot of systems that were being implemented before the death of its original authors. Its surprising and not in a bad or a good way, its just intriguing to listen too.

Its been a topic of conversation that has split those who care to openly talk about since its implementation and even was they Rest In Peace, its doing the same. Surely that shows the power of what was trying to be achieved. I suppose it brings to light the power of what a change on that scale can actually do.  I learnt a lot about my family line during the shift in our ways and it was to the betterment of us. Like others i agree that some things need to stay, it was a great achievement to see people out here, making an effort. I just think with tweaks and certain things thumbed in, we can utilize what we have. There is absolutely no shame in piggy backing off the ideas that we are left with.

LuciusSweet, once again, i agree. At the risk of ruffling a few feathers, i also think there has been ample time to communicate something, it might be something little but i think something is better than nothing. The silence has bred a contempt like atmosphere with a few people who ive conversed with. Thats not good for business, moral and engagement- something that i personally feel strongly about. Likewise, i am little bit put out that we haven't had a more pressing presence of Crew leaders come out and have their say, here, while we are all standing round.  But thats their prerogative, should they choose not too.

I will pose a question to you LuciusSweet; from people talking here it seems apparent that they still want some of the ideals that the pillars offered to exist, even after their deaths. Would you see this is the crowns not being knocked off the heads of the dead, or would you accept that the public demand for it to continue will still hold a lot of weight? What do you want?  You have very strong thoughts on it and thats amazing, so you should, its your interest but come offer something, come out here and tell us what you want. I implore every one to do it.

Speaking to my Don, i do know that a meeting has been called and i do know that this speech and all who talk here and make points will be addressed in said meeting. So the more vocal people are here, the more chance is that you will be heard. Use the opportunity to express, to offer suggestion and try to help scape the land.

As far as im concerned i dont believe the free cities should be free any longer. I think Philly should be handed to the Tellerium and her family and LA to those in charge there and i believe Vegas has there people as well. My hope is that business can continue to conduct itself with stabilized cities.

BrotherHec, i applaud you, i do so because firstly you're a leader who has came out and listened to us. But most importantly because you have come out here with conviction and said what you would like to see. This is before any meetings, its refreshing to see a leader put themselves on a pedastool. So for that thank you, even if we may differ in what we would like to see happen, its still good to see your conviction and your direction of thinking.

Hmm suggestions? I have a lot of those. I want to see the entire vision those men started to follow but since we do not seem to have people quick to the streets to fight for the community I suppose the favour system is out the window. It was created by those willing to speak for the community and not themselves. And if you cant be bothered to be out here how do we know its not just to benefit yourself?

So with the favour system not likely to continue my only suggestion is that the bloodline issues don't revert back to what they were. This vision was a chance for everyone not a select few. I would still like to see that be in play.

I strongly believe leaders still need to make the effort to communicate here as well as members should be encouraged as well.

Other than that not sure what more of the vision could realistically be applied and used.

What do I want? Easy - I would like people to take a little bit of responsibility and not hide behind excuses like "rebuilding" or "taking care of their family", admit they've dropped the ball and endeavour to keep it off the floor for the foreseeable future.

Sending out invites after people have died is not a full time job; especially not when you have sponsors who should be being utilised to undertake the entirety of the process on your behalf. With that out of the way, even if you then visit every funeral for every casualty and give them all a huge heartfelt eulogy, you're still going to be hard pushed to lose more than a couple of hours to the process. Invites and funerals taken care of, a chat with your top (wo)men should be next to determine your vision for the family as a result of the changes. Once agreed, implementation of that revised strategy to the family and then...

....well then, what are you doing? With the micro issues resolved by the end of day 1, this should be the point where the macro issues are considered and in my opinion this just isn't happening. A meeting of every boss with two members to rub together 8 days after the fact just doesn't cut it for me. I think that's lazy leadership and it is the type of shit we've seen time and time again and it isn't good enough. We should expect better.

As to the policies of the Pillars, I liked them, but for me they didn't go far enough. I would like to see a favour system that judged upon performance and then exacted consequences upon those failing to perform. Handing out families to people to facilitate them training a full cohort of bodyguards should be unacceptable. If you aren't prepared to put the effort in to leading, then you shouldn't be allowed to do so. That benefit should be ripped away from you until you're prepared to actually justify it and it should be reserved for those who are.

After a few drinks, and many sleepless hours, WoonDa came to an idea he wanted to share with his fellow mafiosi.

What about instating some kind of experiment, that thing that will be a proven failed experiment in the future: DEMOCRACY?

Candidates, more than 60days old, for the Ideological Country Leader, would present themselves to the "populace", and populace would vote...

Among the Candidates, the one that wins is supreme. the second becomes vice. And the third one? Well he gets a wild ticket among candidates to the next round of elections. I didn't say "after death of previous leaders", I did say "after next round of elections"...

So it's all about how they present themselves to the influential masses of our world, and how those masses accept them...

Legal disclaimer: This proposition was not asked to be approved by my leader and uppers, it's my own idea, inspired by recent events, and by that only my own responsibility...

LuciusSweet, bloody brilliant. This is exactly what i was hoping for when i brought this to the streets. I know we are being watched and listened to by those who are on top. feedback and ideas of that magnitude, for me, will go a bloody long way in this world. I have to say, i dont think that there is much i can disagree with you on.

I have nothing more to add to this, i think the term goes; Nail-on-the-head. There has been a complete lack of conviction and like ive said, its incredibly detrimental to our world. WE SHOULD ABSOLUTELY EXPECT BETTER. I applaud you MR Sweet you have come out with gusto and conviction and said exactly how it is. I know thats something that i can relate to and its a trait that i think more of us should have.

The favor system might have been something somewhat new, it at least had a new twist. The twist was that it was attempted to be unbiased, but was it? I can assure you that in the end it was not as it was sold to us as one of the pillars requested my help in fighting Chicago and the reasoning was he felt that the free cities would be removed if it were not for him to keep them safe. To me this is very biased and the exact opposite of what the system was put in place for.
Do we not always have a favor system though? If the group in power doesn't favor you or what you do, you get removed. It may be more biased to ones personal goals, but we are mobsters, we commit many crimes that are for personal gain so how is this not expected? There have also been many leaders in the past to outwardly sell that they are for the community but in fact they aren't, this is generally what we see and it's a smart move. You want your actions to come off as bettering the community as a whole but the underlying reasons for what you're doing is your own personal gain and safety.
Whichever way the new powers choose to go, the more you care about the community as a whole, the less time you will survive at the top as you only put yourself at risk. Recent events can show the results of that. If you look back to the regime before the pillars, you will notice they had control for quite awhile, now go ahead and ask yourself. Were they out to better the entire community, or were they out for personal gain and safety? I believe it was the latter, so then we come to how long were they at the top? Was it anywhere near as short of a time that the pillars were? Sure wasn't. So while this might not be the best decision to make friends and the community love you, that's not what we're here for.
Now I'm not saying one choice and regime is better than the other as I did have a lot of respect for the pillars as I recocgnized the risks they took to put this system in place but at the same time it wasn't perfect and nothing will be.

A young thug spoke very well about the favour system to RobOakheart and echoed sentiments of what you've expressed, that it was effectively just a more transparent version of what has always been the case; the least popular (for whatever reason) get knocked down, and to an extent that is true. However, their favour system proposed to treat people differently (rather than just kill them) upon the basis of how they participated. That's a step in the right direction for me. They envisaged individual turf beefs that didn't involve the entire country, unless someone "in favour" was involved. That's a solid improvement to me as well; protect those who are doing good work from those who are not. What we have had previously (and probably will again) is a systematic destruction of a threat, real or perceived, or worse, a systematic destruction of a disliked individual, regardless of their standing, effort or contribution. That doesn't really get us anywhere, except older and with a few more useful people back in the dirt.

I think your assessment of why the Pillars fell is quite simplistic, Bobby. To me, it wasn't because of their diplomatic approach; it was actually Gato gearing up for war with Senza that caused the final problem. One could therefore argue that if they had approached those events with the same patient and open hands that they did with other matters, they would still be alive, as lest we forget, they weren't taken down, they fell in conflict. And, to continue the argument for the other side, had the previous regime been more ruthless and put Gato and RobOakheart in the ground when they had the chance, would they still be alive? Probably. This would mean that perhaps the problem was that the Pillars weren't diplomatic enough and that DoctorBoom et al. weren't ruthless enough? Who knows. Either way, no easy answer and no blueprint for anyone to follow as hindsight is 20/20 and real life is dynamic.

Don't get me wrong, despite wanting what's best for business as a whole, I'm not a fan of the leadership by democracy that the Pillars employed. I'm very much more in the camp of those with the power telling everyone else how it is going to be. I would just like those people to decide on some basic fucking minimums expected from those holding leadership positions, one of which should be that you occasionally leave your HQ and offer an opinion on something or, quite frankly, you aren't worthy of the honour and need to be killed.
