Youre gonna be in for a long time now pal!

The prison door shut. BrotherHec was now locked in. He looked around at his empty bedroom. A cot and a toilet were the only things he had. He couldnt believe he missed the shot. The man got away scott free. Perhaps he didnt even know he was being targeted. 

"Yo, whatcha in here for?"

A deep voice in the cell next to him caught his attention. BrotherHec decided to respond with the classic innocent response.

Im innocent. I dont know why im here.

The prisoners all began to laugh. Throughout the night they all shared stories about how they ended up there. Some had robbed stores others had beaten people still others did drugs and even sold them. Finallly after having such a vulnerable session with the fellas BrotherHec decided to share his story with them.

I tried to kill a guy to be honest. I missed the shot. He was your average joe just walking the streets. I seen him do a couple of dirty tricks here and there and decided it was time for him to go. Unfortunately for me i didnt check my clearing before i went about to go pull the trigger. He got away and i got locked up.

The cell block fell to a deafening hush. Not a single breath was heard. 

"Yo man are you joking or you for real? You kill people?"

BrotherHec who was now laying on his cot playing with his thumbs looked out from the bars. He could tell that they were a bit confused about the story he made that he killed people. They didnt understand how someone could be so vocal about it.

I mean...Yeah. On occasion. I dont do it every day but i guess you can say i make sure my operations run smoothly. Yeah nothing sweeter than hearing that soft god like voice in your heart saying, Success! Dat bum is swimmin wit da fishes. Oh how i love that. You guys know what i mean?

The entire cell block fell even more quiet as if it was even possible. No one wanted to respond or say anything. A murderer in jail and he knew he was going to get out was the most bizarre thing. 

I mean i wont be in here for long i expect any minute now they will come swoop me up and bust me out of this joint. Ill write you guys tho. I think its important we all stay in contact. I may have some work for you on the outside if youre interested.

As he finished this statement a guard approached and opened the jail cell. 

Don Hec...I am so sorry. I did not know it was you! What are you even doing in New York i thought you worked in Chicago sir?! I apologize for locking you up...

BrotherHec smiled and patted the guard on the shoulder and walked passed him.
