I think it's a fair point, Tammy. I see lots of businesses in our society that open with great fanfare... and then the owner vanishes entirely. It's like the people opening them just want to be able to point to their new venture and get the benefits of owning it, without actually putting in the work to maintain it.

For people who say they don' t care about their business and it's just a front... isn't an active business a much better front than an empty store?

And t's true, of course, that it can be helpful to arrange an appointment with the owner of a business in advance... but walk ins also shouldn't have to wait three days for service.

Obviously, many of us need to travel for our line of work and it can be difficult flying across the country. But if that's what you're doing... why open a business that you can't be a presence in? There are other alternatives, of course. Perhaps have a partner who can watch the business while you're away? Or have someone watch the business and inform you when you have someone coming in?

Either way, I share your frustration with this trend.

I dont think the incentive to show your face around the store is enticing enough to ensure that busy people will stay within reach of it awaiting business. Nor is business frequent enough to merit such a behaviour.

I think the best solution was touched on by Miss Logan there, it's actually something I have been considering and trying to arrange for my own upcoming establishment in Vegas. Associates are always eager to prove their worth and put in the hours to show their boss how good they are and how much they merit that next step up to become Made. If these Associates were tasked with the running of any stores owned by Made Members of the family, this would create a new job role for them to allow those hard workers to truly earn their Promotion and show their worth.
