He was too tired, that was the main reason he wanted to be alone and just drink, but the possibility to just think, was a glorious one. It allowed him to concentrate on what mattered. He closed his eyes, and rested his weary head on the wall behind him. He wasn't sure how much time passed, but all he knew was that yyyyyyyyyy, had left in a loud commotion, which was not unlike him, he chuckled quietly to himself, at the memories of the previous antics of his friend. Having a small look around he was surprised to see Kate here, but then again, he had likely missed much of what had possibly occurred. He did notice who she was sat next to though, and that did make him smile, probably for the first time that day. Also what again looked to be the owner, had an instrument on hand. 'A violin, such a beautiful melody it makes' he mused. Not for the first time that night, he sat back and watched the performance with a small smile on his face, maybe the night was looking up after all. 'The drink could wait' He thought as the owner started her performance. |

At first he didn't notice anybody approach himself, but when they spoke it caught his attention. He was surprised to see it was Andrei_Morello, but he was more than happy to let Andrei join himself at the table. 'Maybe being alone isn't what tonight has in store for me.' He thought. Clearing his throat, he spoke a tad more quiet than usual, as the performance was still occurring. "Of course you may join me, please sit." He indicated the chair closest to Andrei. He did note the tad shyness that Andrei had, he hoped to change that over the night, as a confident person was always better than a shy one. And after all there was no real reason to be shy around himself, well at least he thought there wasn't. "I'm sorry I don't have a drink to offer you, but if you can keep a small secret then I may have a small amount of 'beverage' we could have,if that is something you would be interested in?" He said while using the air quotes, when he mentioned the word beverage. |

The boy sat in the chair Ghost indicated... He was a bit surprised that a man like Ghost wanted to tell him a secret... but he responded :"Sure, what do you want to tell me? You've chaught my attention." Despite the beautyfull music in the background the boy was all ears to the man next to him. |

Taking a small flask from his black trench coat pocket, he poured some of his favorite whiskey into two small shot glasses, that were laying around. Indicating the poured drinks, he said. "This is a home-brew, of some of my favorite whiskey, mixed with some other drinks and then the outcome.. Pure bliss. It's a small secret, as only a handful of people know about it so far, I'm thinking of making it properly, but who knows?" Pausing, he focuses on the drinks again and speaks. "But enough of that, lets have a drink shall we?" He picks up his glass and waits for Andrei, to do the same. |

Andrei made his mind up and got his courage... "Cheers my friend!" Than he slips the glass. Than he said: "Wow! That was a really good mix. Thanks for sharing this with me." |

He was glad that Andrei enjoyed his own mix, as he was still looking for opinions on it. As, if he was planning to sell it at a later date, then it needed to be good. Focusing back on Andrei he asked something he had been wondering the entire time. "What has brought you to my table? Not that I have any problems with it, but I'm curious." He smiled, and waited for Andrei to respond. |

He smiled at the thought of his companion. He then spoke while maintaining said smile. "I thank you for the check in, on me, but I assure you I am fine, just a little tired actually." He considered what else Andrei said. Then replied. "So what do you think of this establishment?" |

The tune filled the pub like an ale fills a glass, meeting ears in every corner. Tammy was now lost in the song. Her feet were tapping and heels were kicking as she spiraled around in the clearing, she was sure to keep her hair over one shoulder as it danced ecstatically behind her. The violin was singing its song, on in its own dance and Tammy let it take her with it. She stepped quickly towards the table where Miss Logan and Mercedes sat and brought the strings to a sudden halt. She reached for the bottle and took the whiskey to her lips, wiped her mouth and took up the bow once more. "C'mon ladies, we goin' ta raise tha roof or nah?" The clickedy clack of her heels hit the hardwood floor once more, and the violin sang. |

Kate looked down at her glass and froze for a heartbeat- before the corner of her mouth twitched and she stood. She cracked her neck and, uncinching her belt, dropped her coat on the chair ans rolled the sleeves of her white shirt. She stretched out an open hand to Mercedes that the other woman just looked at for a moment... in surprise? excitement? fear? But Mercedes reached out and, in the instant their hands touched, Kate had pulled her out into an open, center area near the bar. Kate hadn't danced for a long time- she felt a flash of emotion pour over her as she remembered dancing around the kitchen with her mother as a girl. Helen Logan had wanted her daughter to be able to move fluidly for the world, to find a suitor that would help Kate achieve a better life than her mother. But dying when her daughter was 15 and leaving Kate to be shaped by the outlaw Dan Bogan had removed any hope for that future. Still, old steps that had once been traced into her heart and mind came back to her. She interlocked the fingers of her right hand with Mercedes' left and gently slipped her left hand around to Mercedes' lower back just above the belt. Kate moved with a strange mix of grace and power: she was far from an expert, but her natural reflexes and timing allowed her some proficiency. Kate let the memories of another life combine with the lively music of the moment as they spun around the pub. |

Mercedes couldn't remember the last time she'd been out dancing, but like riding a bicycle or driving a stick shift, some things come back to you instinctively. She mirrored Kate's hand placements and let her keep the lead and pace as they put the open floor space to good use. She knew some of the fellas were there and watching, but she didn't care. Dancing around the room with KateLogan felt quite natural and pretty damn liberating, if she was honest. She supposed the whiskey helped in that regard. Laughing when Kate twirled her around like a princess, Mercedes squeezed their clasped hands a little tighter. Was this what joy felt like? |

As Tammy finished "The Rocky Road to Dublin" and started a reel, Kate settled into an easy rhythm of motion and... actually felt herself start to relax. The recent past had been so crazed and frantic; she'd been pulled in what seemed like a thousand different directions every day. She had pushed herself so often past the point of fatigue that she'd nearly broken down- and what was more concerning was how comfortable she'd gotten dancing along the risky line of her mental, physical, and emotional limits. But now, as she moved with Mercedes, she felt her spirit lighten in a way that it had not in a long, long time. When Kate Logan had arrived in Detroit she'd quickly established a few trademarks: her "cowboy" hat that she'd brought from Texas, her revolver, her rebellious attitude, and her trademark smirk. The hat was gone. The revolver was still with her. The rebellious attitude? That had been largely crushed by looming responsibilities- and the deaths of several friends. But her smirk? Her smirk was a wry, confident, skeptical look at the world, a protective mask of amusement, but not joy- and it had never wavered... until now. Kate felt it cracking and desperately, habitually fought against it as she tried to slam an emotionless mask back over her face. And then, in the space of a single breath, she stopped fighting it. As she spun around with Mercedes, Kate felt a true, wide, joyous smile break across her face as laughter emerged from the deepest, most hidden corners of her soul. It wasn't the dismissive, sardonic laugh of her adulthood- but a musical, mirthful sound that had never been heard in Detroit. It sounded strange to her own ears but, for once, Kate didn't care. |

As the song changed, so did Kate. Mercedes could feel the tension release from her back as she let loose with a laugh that no one on this side of the country had ever had the pleasure of hearing. Mercedes missed a half step but was fortunate enough to recover quickly so as not to fall flat on her face, yanking Kate to the floor in the process. Somehow this simple, average evening had turned into something extraordinary. There wasn't much of that going around these days, not in their line of work, anyway. So she promised herself to enjoy every minute of it. |

Kate sighed as the dance came to an end and she felt her soaring mind and spirit return to her body. The music slowed: Tammy had switched to a slower song- a reflective, positive memory. Kate felt confused for a moment, but she decided to just go with it. She'd never really danced with any woman in public and it now began to seema bit awkward, but she silenced those thoughts as she more slowly stepped around with Mercedes as both women caught their breath. After a few moments, Kate spoke. "I'm sorry I haven't been around much, since that night at the bar. Things have been..." She trailed off there. Mercedes knew. |

Mercedes watches as the previously unseen, untethered Kate vanishes and the more down-to-earth Kate returns. She understood that the Don had an image to uphold, and certain expectations had to be met. At any time, a passerby might walk by outside, happen to glance in the window, and see Detroit's leader in this compromising situation. If they should run back to their leader and tattle all the juicy details (no doubt adding some of their own) it could destroy Kate's reputation and hard-earned respect. She didn't like it. At all. But she'd have to adhere to whatever guidelines Kate might set. Attempting a smile on the heels of that morose thought, she replies. "Oh, I know. No need to explain. Kinda goes with the territory," she says, then leans forward to whisper. "I count myself lucky for any moment we get." |

Kate stops moving, momentarily feeling like a sailor stepped back on land as the motion of the dance faded. She looked into the eyes of Mercedes_Kompressor. "I think we need to talk, Mercedes. About you and me. If you'd rather not do that in a public setting here, we could speak privately. I think that might be the best idea. But it's your choice." |

Assuming the worst, Mercedes attempts nonchalance. "Oh, yeah, of course..." she says, stepping back and letting go of Kate. Reaching for her wallet (ha, it's still there), she places a disproportionate sum of cash on the bar and grabs her coat. Tammy could close the bar for a week and take a trip to Ireland with the monstrous tip she'd just been left. |
