Basicky, the idea is that you have the ability to try to escape from jail on your own. Depending on your skills, depends your chances are different. Also, there should always be a chance, no matter how small, of getting caught trying.
Also, if you get caught, the number of guards guarding you is increased, and ytou have a longer sentence.
Any suggestion, comments, complaints, constructive critisism, destructive critisism (please no, destruction makes me sad :() |

this does make sense and i can't say i really don't like it but maybe it had to be a two man job like you have to get someone else in the same city jail to help you and maybe the more people you have the harder it is to get out unless they have no guards then no one is really going to really notice them gone. |

Well, when it says how many guards a guy has, it means how many people are guarding those people personaly. That doesn't mean the whole jail can't notice them, other than your personal guards, so there shpuld be a chance.
Also, maybe there could be an option where you can invite people in, but I don't think that could work, since you can't view the personals. |

the sentences people get doesn't warrant such a feature, in my opinion. plus, you can always bribe before your sentence is up. |

Yeah, I guess that jail senences are pretty short. There just isn't enough to do that makes jail an interesting element in the game. The forums blow, anyways. It is, in so many words, the breeding ground of spam. |

I don't think jail is meant to be fun, it's supposed to be a punishment - you have failed at something. |

As of now, there are 5 ways out of jail.
1) You can bribe your self out by sharing info (giving up witness statements).
2) You can bribe yourself out with credits. (Bribe the warden).
3) You can get busted out by someone else. (Family members for the win!)
4) You can keep up on your tips to ensure that you get your get out of jail free cards. (He takes you around back and lets you go)
5) You can wait the entire time, and come out naturally.
I don't want to spoon feed the users experience points, given that you already have multiple ways to prevent serving jail time before you even attempt it. Going in unprepared should have consequences, so I have a hard time taking those consequences away.
