Not worth reading if you were not affected by the hubbub around Dragna..

Anyway, long story short (not really):

When you die, you are turned red on the 60 second list and stay there for a few minutes then fade off into never never land.  Back in the day we used to catch scripters, which means they would stay on the 60 second list for hours at a time - so we set it so that when you get killed, you are set to invisible, so you not longer appear on the 60 second list (and it doesn't update your last active time, so you can login, find you are dead, log out and make a new account without the last active time being 30 seconds off of your new accounts start time (a great way to pop your incogs))

Sooo Dragna signed up with another game that gave out benefits if you had referrals, so he spammed here with his URL to get points on the other game.  Normally, I just kill off spammers, but I saw this wasn't an admin from another game spamming for free users, it was an actual player who has had many accounts in the past... so I figured he was worth savings.  I mailed him and explained, and he stopped mailing and apologized.  After this convo, enough of the recipients of the mails clicked the Flag Spam option, which essentially killed Dragna.  I reversed the spam quarantine, and we went about our merry ways, and I deleted all traces of the annoying spam in everyone's mail.

What I forgot to do, is since he was technically dead (spam quarantined), I forgot to undo the invisible flag.  So when his name came up in some other game situation later on, some users were called out for faking logs since... there is no way mails were sent or chat logs could be real because this dudes current last active time is BEFORE the timestamps.  The concerned party reached out to one of the admins to see if there could be a possible problem, and code was double checked and it was found to be functioning normally.  Which means that the logs and mails were faked, therefor, kill the lying faker!!!!

But... the problem was actually a leftover of him being spam quarantined and it not updating his last active time... This was 100% my fault, and as a result, people were branded dishonest.  I hope that coming out and explaining this fixes things.  It was me forgetting to unset a setting when I took him out of spam quarantined that lead to fingers being pointed and peoples integrity being questioned.

I shall do three shots of everclear and switch to generic single ply toilet paper for the week as compensation.

On my 21st birthday my friends were feeding me shots, and for the 21st shot they let the bartender pick the shot.  He did a cement mixer and, I still believe to this day - that the cement mixer is the one that made the following 36 hours go terribly wrong :P
