| Selling DFPs | Started by: Advantage on Apr 18, '10 12:21 |

Pretty self-explanitory.
Selling back to the game:
Benefits:
1. In a pinch for cash.
2. Don't feel the need to keep it up anymore.
3. Someone else in your family can get a better use from it, more units.
Selling to other players:
Benefits:
1, Adds a new market to the game
2. There are only so many, just how much are you willing to pay for one from someone else.
Added Suggestion/Pros/Cons, let's hear them. |

I support the idea of selling the DFPs back to the game. Selling to other players might pose some problems.
1. Will they purchase the same DFP as you own?
2. If so they must be the same rank.
3. The owner of the DFP is anonymous so by selling to other players it will reveal the owner. |

I don't think revealing the owner would be a problem. CD's are completly annonymous (on the market place), so DFP sales could be too. I like the idea. I really like the idea of peer to peer sales. Maybe we could even see DFP completely player ran some day? |

The only problem I see with the idea of seeling on the market place is that the DFP's couldend up under the control of the richest and the lower ranking players get nothing. |

What areas should we expect abuse, and how can we keep it in check?
I just worry that things could turn into a bullying situation, example being "Im a don, fuck you, give me your goddamn DFP goomba, or I'll kill you." (in theory, nothing is wrong with that, however, in spirit of protecting the little guys a bit I dont want it out of control.) |

I dont see a problem with the bullying. It's the cycle of life. You bust your ass to be able to say how things go. If a Don wants a Goombas DFP then he better hand it over. Now if it goes inter-crew bullying, that gives the CLs a chance to step in and control the situation. Kind of like the -48s. They can still be killed, most find it to be immoral. DFPs could be bullied but it most likely would not go in the bullies favor. |

Since DFP's are anonymous how will the Don find out that you own one? |

Deductive reasoning. If the guy has 23 of X drug for sale and he is in X's crew. You can narrow down to just a few people which would be the owner. |

Ok now, in a pinch you are able to sell your DFP back to the game for 1/2 of what its current value is. We may expand upon this in the future. |

As far as selling to other members,
In a way to keep people from bullying we could make sales completely anonymous. Possibly set up a "Purchase DFP" Button available only on visible DFPs (ones that have yet to sell their units). Upon clicking the by the DFP you could "make an offer"
OR
Make it like the credit market place. "I am offering this much for a DFP" or "I am selling my DFP for this much"
Of course a Gangster couldn't by a Don's DFP and be loaded with units of coke, they would be set with how much they bought theirs for.
In this form:
It benefits the younger users more. If they happen to catch an open DFP, make some cash off of it.
In a pinch, you could still sell it to other users for a lower price but still make more than back to the game (or if time is of the essence, sell it back to the game)
As a good IG benefit: As a CL you can see who in your family has DFP. If you see a gangster with one and your Don doesn't, well then that isn't too beneficial. I wouldnt want my gangster to lose out completely on the money he invested so I would have the done pay said Gangster X dollars so that both will benefit from the trade, the Don of course more in the long run, but the family more importantly. |
