Well, there is a rumor going around that the old style chat, the crew only one, will be going away sometime soon. I was wondering if we could possibly stop this from happening, as I know there are a lot of users out there that use this chat over the newer one.

I know I personally use it mainly on my phone, because the new one takes up 1/3 of my screen, which isn't all that fun, when you only have a small screen in the first place.

I was wondering if there were any other users out there, that would support my endeavor of trying to persuade our dear admin, Squishy, in keeping this older feature alive.

I second this. The new chat is horrible on touch devices with small screens. I choose not to use it in a browser as well. I don't need all of the different channels, I find them annoying and distracting from the game. If someone wants to "private message" me they can do so on IRC or via mobmail. It takes up too much of my screen as well. 

Please, keep the older chat as well?

i don't use the new chat and use the old instead.  Is easier for me and works better whether phone or computer.

Old school chat. No better way than to do it the old school way. :D

I prefer the old school chat, as well. 

But - the new one could work if some changes were made. 

1.) Move it to the left side of the screen. It covers up the popups and drives me fucking batty. 

2.) Make the buttons slightly larger. 

3.) Make it so when someone talks it actually scrolls the chat, rather than you having to do it manually. 

4.) Timestamp/datestamp PMs so you know when they have happened. 

I too would hate for old chat to be removed, I don't like the newer SDI chat.
