"You see that guy over there?" "What guy?" I say. A tall looking man sat at a table in the far corner. He was holding a ruffled up newspaper and drinking a hot beverage. The man had no clue anyone was staring at him, until he looked up and noticed my eyes on the scar that planted itself across the mans cheek. He looked back at me with menacing eyes. I started to panic. Oh shit oh shit he noticed well I'm dead meat, I thought. "He wants to see you. Says he's a distant cousin or something." The restaurant manager replies to me. Uhh.. What. Did I hear that right? A distant cousin? I don't think I've ever met any of my close cousins let alone a distant one. I took off my cap and fixed a piece of hair that stood up on my head. As I walked closer to the man, the more fear built up inside of me. This didn't feel right. He offered the seat across from him, and I sat down quickly. I just want to get this over with. The man gave me a hat tip. He opened his mouth to speak and I swear I never been so scared in my life. "You have some debts to pay, Miss." His voice was deep and spoke with a strong accent. Italian accent I think. My hands were starting to get clammy from all the nervousness. "Excuse me? What are you talking about I don't have any deb-" The man stopped me mid sentence and he slid a note across the table to me. Then he stood up slowly fixing his dark overcoat. This man I didn't know. But his presence would haunt me forever. I opened the note to see someone's poor handwriting across the page.
WHAT THE FUCK, I think to myself. I wanted to scream and shout at the man, but when I looked up he was gone. Who was Moe and what did he want from me? I got up from my seat and almost tripped over a table leg as I rushed over to my manager. I took off my work apron and put my cap back on the shelf. I let out a shaky sigh. "I can't go to work for a while. I need to sort something out. It's an emergency." I lied. But it didn't feel right to stay at this place anymore. That man might come back for me and remind me of my 'unpaid debts.' So I thanked my manager. This was the last time I'd ever get to see my manager again, but I needed to figure out what that man was on about. Tonight at the Amore Strip Club is where I'll be heading... |

Rubix was making his daily rounds through the business district, his leash was attached at his collar and the other end was held firmly in his mouth. Normally this would be a very odd sight to see a dog walking himself with no human in the business district, but the whole area knew Rubix ever since that car nearly ran him over. Unfortunately the baker sold all of his wares the previous night and had nothing stale for Rubix today but luckily the town butcher always had some tasty smelling meat and enormous bones for him. He had just finished burying said bone in the nearby park when his snout lifted high into the air to confirm a familiar scent.
It was definitely her, it was Alessandra! She worked nearby and Rubix was not allowed inside the establishment to visit her. Normally he had to wait for the sun to go down a lot more before meeting her and walking home with her. He took off as fast as he could to greet her but as he got closer he realized something was off about her. Her head was hung low and she was deep in thought about something. Rubix decided to change his pace and slow himself down because she may not have been as excited to see him as he obviously was to see her. He slowly closed the gap until he was walking right there next to her, as walking her to her destination was the gentle |
