January 5th, 1932 - 6:30PM

It's getting dark outside but the blazing fires illuminate the streets. We intended to play some poker tonight but it seems duty calls. The army has found us! We haste ourselves to the cellar of the headquarters to load up on guns and ammunition. As we finished raiding the armory we heard explosives blasting out the front door. We have to get out through the back!

We open up a hidden gate to a tunnel network we constructed to lead us to our outposts or the borders in case of emergency. As the gate opened we hear troops storming in, we push the cadillacs into the tunnel network to not raise attention before we locked up behind us. We have to be quick they could come down any time now. As footsteps sounded on the cellar stairs we made the call to start the cars and make a run for it. 

The tunnels are dark as we had no time for torches. The only light we have is the headlights of our cars. We try to drive as fast as possible while the car up front tries to remember the route we have to take. In the far back we hear shouting followed by some silent gunshots. We are too far away, we made it! When we hit the surface we tried to cross the bridge, the road to freedom, safety and...

January 12th, 1932 - 5:00AM

It's been a cold winternight. The streets of Chicago were silent, a thick pack of snow covered the roads. Streetlights broken and the roadsigns missing. Windows are smashed and barricaded doors were forced. One might think the town has been abandoned for months or even years by now, but nothing is less true. In fact, it has only been a week. 

If I only knew how my crew is doing, we got seperated  when the bridge we drove on got sabbotaged and collapsed below us. I'll leave this diary behind here in the old headquarters, what's left of it at least, as a sign that I'm still alive. Hopefully they will do the same, so maybe we can confirm the surviving or even reunite some day.
