Slash clears his throat before approaching the public

I wont bore you all with any nonsense and I'll get straight to the point. As everyone has seen, last night Detroit was removed. Primarily this decision was made by Vegas, but was made with the support of other cities. For those looking to point fingers and call people names, feel free to aim them at me.

There was a myriad of reasons, to be honest. Each could be small and insignificant on its own, but with them all building up it reached a stage where Vegas was in a position where they had to make a difficult choice. After much talk, the Vegas leaders along with their allies decided it was time to act before further issues, possibly irreversible, could arise.

I know many of you are hoping I'll be going into some sort of detail on the reasoning, but frankly I wont be. Why? Because it makes no difference. Anything I say would be hated on by those that didnt want to see Detroit die, regardless of how real the threat was or not, everyone already has their own thoughts and opinions and my words wouldn't change that, but please feel free to approach me direct for an explanation if you so wish, my door is always open and I'm more than happy to chat with people about the choices we made.

Some of you might think this was some sort of power play, it wasn't. I loved KateLogan and I thought she was a tremendous assest to our world, it wasn't an easy choice to bring her down also as she wasn't the main target, but attacking a city and removing one district and leaving the other posed too great a risk to ignore and again a hard choice was made to remove Kate and her respective Made members and hands/former hands.

I wanted to come out and speak these words to you all last night, but unfortunately I had an emergency that required my attention elsewhere and couldn't be avoided, so for that I do apologise as I personally feel that actions like these do require a notice to the public to at least take some ownership on who did it, even if not detailing why.

Before I finish, I'd also like to remind those of you with strong opinions on this subject, despite what someone on another corner thinks, you are more than free to air your thoughts and opinions provided its done so respectfully. Think the move was wrong? Thats fine. I have no qualms about anyone speaking up against the move.

all in all, if you're going to commit a public act like wiping an entire city off the map then I believe that we deserve a public answer, but if you feel differently than so be it.

DESERVE? No, you do not deserve an answer. You did not put any effort into the removal of Detroit. You do not deserve a damn thing. 

IF a leader decides to come forth with an explanation as to why someone was removed that is up to them. THEIR decision. If they choose to share the deep dirty secrets that should be left in the back room or office of a family leader with the public, then so be it, share their secrets with the world. The public does not DESERVE to know. 

If a leader decides to come forth with some made up bullshit about how an entire city's criminal element was on a fishing trip and there was a tragic accident that caused the entire upper structure and those that had been Made in families to drown, then so be it. If a leader wants to say that the entire criminal element of a city was abducted by aliens, so fucking be it.

You do not DESERVE to know the behind the door activities of another city. If you have concerns, address your leader. 

In all rights Slash didn't have to come to the Streets at all, but we all know there would have been public outrage if he hadn't. 

She shakes her head in disbelief again and wanders off to find a nice little old lady on her way to the post office and bank.

Why should a family leader come air their dirty laundry with another city in public for all of the world to see and use against them? Why should they risk the coppers or feds finding out? Do you openly discuss your crimes, let alone mass murder, with people outside of your city?

We are fucking criminals, murderers, cheat, scoundrels. Not one of us has gotten where we are because we are nice, law abiding citizens. This isn't shit we talk about on a street corner. This is shit we address behind closed doors to those who feel they need to approach us about it. It's not a requirement to tell the world why we removed someone or a city, really, it's not. People just think it is.

I'm sure as fuck not going to say "Hey BCP, me and the boys went out the other night and played stabby stabby with that kid from Kurgan's family who decided to play pin the penis in my niece. There was blood everywhere man! It was epic!" I may wear the habit of a nun, but trust me, I have a few habits that aren't very nunlike. What the church doesn't know won't hurt them and to keep them out of the know I'm not exactly going to broadcast it for the world to hear about.

Have we really come to the point where we share our kills and reasons behind it like recipes in a sewing circle? 

No one is trying to "silence" anyone. Just like you have your God given right to speak out I have MY God given right to speak out. You just don't like what I have to say. Whoops. My bad. Not really. Should I just not say what I'm thinking or feeling, letting it fester inside?

BCP listens to the angry nonsense, Yes people always want to know he relizes, but again no one is deserved anything. Deciding this wouldn't get anywhere and someone is always salty, BCP decides to talk regardless.

I think Slash and SisterMaryJane both have made it clear. Slash was correct and respectful in how he brought it out to the public. He also said, contact him if you want specifics as he didn't feel it was respectful to who was removed to air it in public. So why do you not just send a mail his way. Seems reasonable request and actually more respectful then the majority do and just tell the world and don't care.

And SisterrMaryJane nailed it one the head. You are not owed anything. He choose to tell you something so everyone didn't freak out. Which would happen regardless. But you are not owed shit. Be thankful he choose to say anything, some of the history books show times when people did not utter a word and just went about their day.

So I would say be thankful you got anything and if you want specifics just mail Slash. Not really that hard. Maybe you should try it if you want to know so bad.

While I agree that there is no actual reasons listed other than they wanted to. I feel like the next of kin could draw from this whatever they wish and not be wrong. If there is nothing to set them straight then so be it.

As for leaders shutting down people in the streets, it is a very common thing these days. Rather hypocritical from those who claim you can speak in them only for others to say the opposite. Perhaps instead of wiping cities out for unknown reasons we focus more on fixing what is so clearly broke to everyone but the top people doing the actions themselves.

I am sorry that the fallen do not get to hear whatever reasons LV and Chicago had for the very sudden removal. However, answers are not deserved. But neither is respecting the people that hide behind bashing low ranks. Not everyone at the top will be there forever, and this is the type of thing that should be remembered if the future should ever look brighter under another reign in the future.

Am I saying that you should be airing your dirty laundry in public? No, not in the slightest, but I am saying that when the day comes that we can wipe out a city like detroit in one go based upon the decisions of a handful of bosses and that we should just expect people to be alright with an answer that isn't really answer, we are all thoroughly fucked. I don't give two shit's when you handle internal matters within your family, nor do I care what you're hiding under your damn frock, but vegas and chicago wiping out detroit isn't an internal matter, it isn't personal business, and to say that they posed a threat is just hilarious as I can't help but think who poses a bigger threat: detroit, historically one of the most peaceful, cooperative cities in the game, or vegas and chicago, two cities responsible for more wars than I care to count and who I can only assume made this decision without consulting new york, philly, or Los Angeles on the matter...

Once again, no one is shutting anyone down and trying to deter them from speaking MacKayla. We know you like this topic and like a dog with a bone will never let it go. It's not common. It's not happening. You just take things the wrong way and create "oppression" you say there is. How about you go through the archives of our world's discussions and see what real oppression is. I am talking about the great "Roman" era. Or the dreaded "CP" era. You could go back even further for a few other eras where people actually watched what they said and if they said something that even slightly offended someone in power they were in the obits rather quickly. People get away with saying a lot more now than they did back then. Trust me. You wouldn't know though, your family line wasn't present then.

The children and survivors CAN find out why the removal happened. Slash has said this point blank. Here, to make it clear once again.

Slash has INVITED people to come to him with their questions. He has opened his door to discuss it with them privately where it belongs. He's not going to answer anyone here, in public, but he will answer questions if people ask him. 

"Just approach Slash directly. I believe his whole intention was to avoid this exact situation from happening, although I can't speak for him, but that's what I've gathered. Just speak with the man behind closed doors so we can put this to rest."

JimmyPerello, you don't get it, do you? The cities run themselves, they don't have to "okay" every action taken with the other cities if they don't want to. Yes, we work together on some things, but we are autonomous.

Chicago runs Chicago. Las Vegas runs Las Vegas. New York runs New York. Los Angeles runs Los Angeles. Philadelphia runs Philadelphia. Detroit will rise once again I am sure and run itself.

There is no "one ring to rule them all" mentality anymore. There are no "pillars" to pass things by for approval. The cities are their own for the first time in a very long time. 

There will be alliances and differences. That's natural. 

Also, Detroit? Historically peaceful? Ha. Marietta, not a peaceful lady at times ran Detroit and the world with an iron fist way back when. Oh, and more recently, you remember that Spike fellow? Yeah, example of peace he was.

If you want answers go talk to Slash in private like he's invited people to do. It's that simple.

We are not in a political system where the upper structures must come down to and share the good or bad news with every individual. We are in a criminal society. With the understanding of how we do things it is not so that every time a war or take down occurs the mass needs to be made aware of the reasons why. Does it need to be justified by the eyes of another? I think not. 

The purpose of doing so is really great and helps us all learn from mistakes for our future generations. You can gather form what Slash has shared that threats do exist. Whatever the threat was, whether expansion or future war, there was something that posed threat to Las Vegas at some point. 

As we look toward the future some of us grow irritable about the lack of knowledge that is shared with us. Unfortunately i am not one of those people and i hope i can explain why. When you sign up for this life your child is not guaranteed to know why certain things happen that lead to your death. If you can not accept that you need to reevaluate if this life is truly for you.

JimmyPerello i just want to take a moment to speak with you for a second. You have just made a comment about how Vegas and Chicago have waged more wars than you care to count. I dont believe the two cities have waged more than two wars. They have fought together in defense when the late great Bjorn lead an attack. They warred the Pillars together and recently decided on the take down of Detroit. Now you said it is historical that Chicago and Vegas...but history is wiped away with each new leader who rises and each takedown that occurs so perhaps if you would not mind could you clarify yourself for me?

With all due respect to everyone here these streets belong to us.  We are the ones who work it 24/7.  We are straight up with each other.  When a respectful Don enters the streets with his entourage of bodyguards and protection and opens the doors to be approached he needs to come right.  In the streets its better not to hang out at all, then to come half stepping.  I have all the respect in the world for Don Slash and would not attempt to say shit to him unless I was invited to.  I just can’t see the difference from saying shit here than in private mail.  When you’re man enough to make such a powerful move and come to the streets, be man enough to share what exactly happened?  No it would not change a damn thing but the rumors mill is a bitch.  Granted you didn’t have to come out here at all but you made the decision to address us.  What you can tell one in a private mail can be resolved by all by sharing here.  This is just a opinion because I would respectfully accept Don Slash decision to keep most of this private.  Why not keep the streets real, shit happens.  When we know the reasons why shit hits the fan we can groom our families to avoid them.
