Awaiting News from Detroit Started by: Pompeius on Dec 10, '16 23:20

It was a sunny day here in Rome. I was waiting for the next letter of life in Detroit from my father. In his recent letter he finished writing about all the great things Detroit was becoming since the death of Chairman-Godfather Gato.

He would write about Stories of Don Logan and Don Mavis joking around in the headquarters making everyone feel like they were part of something big, something great...

Now it’s been days since his last letter …

I found myself thinking about my next move. I set out to take a plane to go look for him in Detroit.

On my first step off the plane I notice nothing of what my father would write. It was a desert. Empty streets, closed businesses and homeless people wandering around.

The more I walked the streets the more I realized the nature of Detroit and the once bright city came crumbling down in one day.

As I look in the distance I notice a chains in front of the now closed Distillery which was once the place to be in Detroit. I walk up to it to notice flowers with a note… The note reads

Sad to see someone with your potential cut down so early, but I believe your line will go on to do great things- you're a tremendous asset to any city you're a part of and I thank you for all the work you did in Detroit.

Rest well, Augustus.

My emotions start to run wild, from Indignation, sadness to now joy. Seeing that the people he loved will always be in his heart.

Noooo I yelled out on my knees

as I get up i begin to tell myself. It is now for me. Pompeius to continue his Legacy…

The snow was beginning to fall in New York. The winter was going to be a brutal one and no doubt many who did not find shelter would be left to fend for themselves. BrotherHec flew out to the motor city when he got wind of all that was going down. He was wandering the desolate streets of Detroit when he set his eyes on pompeius. The young man was screaming from his knees and tears were flooding his eyes. The aftermath of that event was truly one of a horror story. BrotherHec lifted pompeius up to his feet. The insane amount of bodyguards kept their vigilant eyes on the new kid as they did not know what he was about.

Here we are. Listen, I don't know what happened to your father but I can take you to the place he would have stayed when he was with his crew if you are interested in doing that. Would you like to see where Augustus used to hang his hat hear in Detroit?

As Pompeius nodded the two of them got into the vehicle. The driver Stewie was slowly cruising the streets. People were looting old random shops and protests began to break out in the streets. A young man stood on the street corner holding a sign that said, "let there be peace." It would seem he too had lost someone close to him in the war.

As they drew near to the headquarters they passed the old printing press. The printing press is where Kate Logan and her cohorts created the weekly paper. The amount of effort that was put into it was incredible. BrotherHec made the sign of the cross saying a short prayer for the deceased leader as they finished their drive. Finally approaching the old head quarters BrotherHec and pompeius got out. The damage done to the building was a sight to behold. It would not be difficult for one to believe that this was a site bombed during the war.

Well Pompeius...here we are. Care to go inside?

As we walk into the press. We notice Stewie cautiously waiting by the car looking around while ordering the bodyguards into safe look out points for BrotherHec's Protection.

"Hey you, Watch his 10"  we hear from Stewie

we hear as we continue inside the Press. BrotherHec & Pompeius walk and talk about the great things this press once did, from its Reviews to its news. It was great stuff indeed. This went on for quite some time

they continue to walking towards the exit of the press. They stop in the door way and look out at the beautiful horizon of a Detroit night. Pompeius exhales and turns to BrotherHec and says

Just beautiful. Well Thank you BrotherHec for everything. The closure, the memories and of course your time. My last thought now is where do I go from here?

The colors in the sky were gorgeous as the sun was setting. The buildings in the distance made it all the more appeasing to the eye. BrotherHec listened to pompeius exhale deeply. He knew his heart was still so very heavy after not being able to visit his family in the motor city. He then asked a curious question, "where do I go from here?"

I guess it all depends really on your take of everything. If you wish to go home I feel like that may be the best option for you. I'm not sure what you are looking for. I run a crew out in New York. The Regime is what I call them are all quite active people. The headquarters is always buzzing about something.

Looking at pompeius boarding ticket BrotherHec chuckles.

Well your return flight has a layover in New York anyhow. How about you come by The Regime headquarters during your layover. I'll send one of my guys to come pick you up. It's always nice to have a fresh face pop in from time to time. Are you interested?

My face light up. Not only was this gentlemen offering a hand but also reaching out for me to meet new people.

"Gladly. I Appreciate everything you’ve done for me so far BrotherHec."

As I wait for a driver I take one good long look at the horizon of Detroit. I will make you proud … Dad…

The Driver arrives let’s go Pompeius to Brooklyn we go. The New Era
