| ignore all/toggle notifications | Started by: Bender on Dec 16, '16 22:23 |

as the previous attempt to suggest this idea was removed, I'll re-up minus the room to bitch about the thing that inspired the suggestion :)
a toggle in options for notifications of various things (or just 1 master toggle for notifications)
and "ignore all" for those who decide this game is filled with people who shouldn't be able to contact them and leave them alone to lives in a bubble |

| Can I get a count of users who would use this to get a feel of its need. | |

not sure about the ignore all, kinda seemed like that was a niche thing tbh :p
however, if there was a panel dedicated to what I could toggle notification wise, I'd definitely use it to remove notifications of witnessing people pickpocketing. as well as probably the marketplace notifications. especially when there's dozens of them and people are taking their sweet time buying them one by one every few seconds =)
so a 'yay' for the toggle notifications, and a 'meh' to ignore all. guess it's nice to choose? but don't really care if ignore all doesn't get added |

The ignore all feature wouldn't be too bad really, the only problem would be if they wanted a select few unignored. So perhaps if you did implement the ignore all feature, they could simply mail the people they don't want ignored and it would simply unignore them with a warning stating so. Sometimes it would be nice to have toast notifications turned off but still have the mails and personal blink when something has been done. I agree with Bender, sometimes there are personals that are useless to me that I'd love to just simply turn off. I do think that people are unaware that you can buy credits in bulk and not in singles, that frustrates the hell out of me. |

| Being able to choose which ones could be ignored wouldn't be too bad. Whatever you google on gets tossed in the junk info where you don't get a notification but it's still there just in case you do find yourself needing it. | |

| Why is a user count to determine need/want now necessary? | |

And ignore-all feature was suggested, that would take very little time to write, and I was going to have Bender and everyone else who supported this "idea" involuntarily beta test it for a few months of no notifications before I added it in as an option for the general populace. Later, an real idea was suggested, the ability to toggle individual ones on and off, and a real example was posted - credit market sales notifications. Now this became a real idea with actual uses that was suggested for legit reasons rather than the original. But before I go and code it for 100 some notifications that would take a pretty decent amount of time to do, getting an idea if its worth doing, and, where on the priority scale should it be is something that is *always* my first decision when considering ideas. Many 15 minute fluff features have jumped ahead in line of more important stuff that takes longer simply because its 15 minutes, this also applies in the other direction. Something that will take 20 hours to do that has very little impact will be put at the very back of the queue. |

Admittedly it didn't click that it was 100 different notifications vs. an ignore all. |

not sure if it's possible to code it as such, but if there were to be an optional toggle for stuff, can it be done that MIA/RIA/Rogue/Durdens can be toggled separately from regular player kills and CAs?
essentially the diff between personals that don't matter against those that do? |
