You can already pick that in a way. If you kill yourself at made man or above it's 'Retire', if you do it at wise guy or below it's 'Suicide'.

I don't see the point except realism of choice. Oh I see one: make us think why someone ranked more than wise guy suicides instead of retiring?

I understand what he's saying.. He is saying that a mobster was enthralled in the life for so long, that he wanted out, and he had done so for as long, and respectively that the family granted him the permission to be done with the lifestyle, where as if you commit suicide, you're a coward and taking the easy way out.

Somewhere, sometimes, in some countries at least, suicide is a honorable way. Example: If you retire after your family has been killed and go on to end your life from a heart attack on some beach with bitches in short term bikini, enjoying the money you have earned under the protection of your family, you find that honorable?

I actually think retirement should only be available for Don and above, as usually the only way out is in a body bag. But in this modern day of the mafia I can understand some snitching and going into witness protection to avoid copping a bullet to exit the life.

In short, no-one should really have the option to retire. Everyone dies in this life once they get their button, either from a bullet or in the rare case natural causes. So the option to do that at made man and above is pretty good imo :)
