Okay so at the minute you are required to report IP sharing every time you start a new character. This is a bit of a pain when the person/people you live with die regularly. |

I think I sent you out for a bagel two hours ago and you still haven't come back...
While i'm here....
I'm sure there is a reason that it has not been linked to the master account because it would probably be easier for them to manage. A method to their madness I presume. Takes all of a minute out of your time. Apparently quicker than it takes to get a bagel... |

Here's an example for you to ponder... |

Of course IP sharing should be reported in every location you use it with another player - all my suggestion was, was that say Person A and B are good friends, they report sharing in A's house as they are always there - when one of the players dies and restarts they have to report it again for every location they share. My suggestion is simply that instead of re-reporting it once a player re-starts, have it link to the master account so that you only ever have to do it once and it's done. |

And as I said, introduce a Person C who does not report and Person B not reporting they are playing at the same location as Person C... It will look like duping and result in ALL characters connected to those names, Person A included as they are connected to Person B, being admin wacked. |

But surely that would also be the case with the current system, unless I am misunderstanding something? |

I was wondering if this had been reconsidered, with all the recent deaths occurring. |

One of the major reasons why it is done this way and not by permanent master account - is to keep the data semi-fresh.
By doing it by player account, it keeps the data fresh. Especially now after the war, with using just player accounts, they will see I have 0 shared reports, because so far there are no shared IP usage yet...which means 25x less investigative work to do.

"where if you guys know we live together or share internet very regularly then it could be linked to our master accounts?" |

Thank you Branston... That's exactly it. If you don't want to be seen as cheaters take the 15 to 20 seconds it takes to fill out the form. It's your responsibility to prove you are not cheating. Sharing situations change all the time. It's not OUR responsibility as admins... :D Have a nice day. |

I think the whole thing could be cleared up easily enough. Just reword the thing to "New character? Report your IP's."
In the end it seems that you want every ip every new character logs in to be reported. Just clear it up, you say sharing and people think "I dont share" or they have been playing so long the Sharing thing doesnt jog the ole memory about NEW characters. |

We don't ask for EVERY IP to be reported though.. The mail I send out clearly states once per character unless the sharing situation changes. |
