| Drug Front Property Unit Scaling | Started by: Sergei on Dec 23, '16 20:27 |

Hey one and all, so I got a quick one here. At this present moment in time to increase your DFP unit capacity you basically have to pay the price of the ENTIRE DFP. Surely this is a ridiculous money sink.. is there no way we can have something in place that reduces the cost if you're only increasing its capacity and not the actual drug. Don't get me wrong if you're going from Morphine to Cocaine.. or even Heroin to Cocaine fair enough. Full price as it's a whole different sort of chemical or growing of plants blah blah you know what I mean. However the same drug.. you already have the whole thing going on just want a few more being made. Here's a prime example of what I mean. I at this present moment in time have a 41 unit capacity Heroin DFP. It cost me around 4,200,000 to buy and I earn about 400k a day. Now I have 45 units I want to increase the price is 4,456,305. If I were to do that very thing at my current price of my Heroin being sold it would take me approximately 114 days to cover the cost (off the profit from the 4 unit extra alone). Now I know it's only 4 units.. and yeah that's a bit small. However I can't imagine the increase from 41 to 60 being a whole lot greater in terms of the profit different making a good return on the extra units to what I gain now. Is there no one else who finds this absurd and thinks that there should be some sort of scaling in price to compensate a simple capacity increase of the same drug? |

DFPs are a long term investment that over their lifetime shell out millions and millions - you should only upgrade them when it financially makes sense to and that's something the Gods have left coded in this way for a very long time intentionally. |

If we want to lower the cost of upgrading to make more money, then we need to remove that money from elsewhere. Where do you suggest we do that? It would be unfair to make the rest of the userbase pay for the few people with DFPs to profit more from tiny incremental upgrades, so it only makes sense to take the money from the DFPs future profits. We can scale the price of getting into a DFP and upgrades to be cheaper, and take that money from the the future profits. DFPs are the unicorn of profit in the game, we simply cant add more of them, and we cant increase the profit they pour into the game without taking that money from elsewhere. If you find another part of the game that people want to sacrifice profit to compensate, then I'm all ears. |

Everything is about risk versus reward. DFPs are designed around a very simple formula that the house wins if you die before XX days, and the user wins if you die after day XX. Before, you were unable to upgrade, so we felt by adding in the ability to upgrade it gives the user the choice to keep the same terms of that deal, or, take another chance. With an upgrade, you can choose to make the bet of the house winning if you die before the new XX date, or you win if you die after that XX date. If you think you will die before you profit, then don't take that risk. If you feel you will make more profit upgrading at the current units, and would not benefit from waiting for more units, take the risk. |
