The children in the orphanage were ecstatic. Jumping around like monkey's grasping for that last banana, as she walked through the door stomping the snow from her booted feet. She reached into her pockets and pulled handfuls of candy out tossing the candy in the air over the children, who exclaimed with glee as jostled each other around to grab their favorite pieces. As they scrambled for the candy she removed her coat and hung it on the rack.

She raised both hands into the air which was the signal for the orphans to quiet down. As their hum dissipated her voice rang out melodic as usual. "Okay little ones everyone have a seat in a circle and I will tell you the story you are all waiting for. " She turned and squatted down to sit on the floor as the children found their spots around her. Once the last child was seated she cleared her throat and began  the story.

This is a true story I am relating in the traditional oral fashion.

This story is a true story. But as  happens in oral story telling, some minor details may have been forgotten, but the main truths to the story remain intact.

One day day there was a young man out traversing the wilderness of a foreign country , he was taking a break from his studies. First he lost his pack with all his food, his warmth and his other personal belongings. After continuing his journey for many weeks and growing hungry and thirsty he ran across a small cabin. He knocked weakly on the door and  a middle aged  woman answered the door.

Her eyes fell upon a man in need, it did not matter he was not of her people. She helped this stranger into her home and laid the weakened man in her own bed, as it was the only bed in the small cottage. She brought the man back to health with milk at first and gradual nursed him to more solid foods. After he healed he left the cottage . Went back home and continued his studies.

Years later, an old  woman is gravely ill, she has seen many doctors and gone through many invasive tests. Her body is weak and frail. No one can find why she is so sick, and no can can help her. She is sent to a new hospital, where a young doctor is at her bedside. H sits there and talks with her trying to find out more of her history. As she opens her eyes and stares at him he gets this feeling that he has to cure her. He gives his word to the old woman that he will stay by her side till she is healthy gain.

After many tests he discovers her illness is a rare form of cancer. After treatment that he himself gives her as he stayed by her side each step of the way . He had no idea why he did , as most most patients he held at arms length.

After many months and the old lady  grew stronger  they spoke over a glass of milk.

She told him of a very young  man that she had helped just as he had helped her . She then  thanked him for the milk. 

The Moral of the story: Always help those in need, you never know you may need them some day.

HELLO, HELLO! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

HighPitchEric enters the orphanage dressed in a Santa suit carrying a sack full of presents.  Milk drips from his bottom lip as he licks his milk mustache with his dry tongue, the taste sour from the mixture of dairy and sweat.

I DRANK ALL THE MILK!  ALSO KIDS, THERE IS A SURPRISE TWIST TO THE STORY.... THE YOUNG MAN IN THE STORY WAS MEEEEEEEE!

The orphans applaud their new hero HighPitchEric as he begins to hand out gifts to the kids.

IT WAS GREAT FUN.  I DRANK MILK AND SLEPT IN HER BED TOO.  ANYWAYS, ENJOY YOUR PRESENTS.  I EVEN GOT ONE FOR DINELASSTHERO.  MERRY CHRISTMAS MOMMY!

HighPitchEric hands Dinelas a wrapped package with a big red bow tied around it.  His clammy hands leave sticky fingerprints on the package, as he has also ate all the honey as well.  His breath smells like milk.
