Chicago. A little different to Vegas, yet somehow, it felt a little like home. Axel had been here enough recently to have that home away from home feel, that nice comfort zone, even if half way across the country. It made him not as anxious to be doing what he was about to do, that, and the potential for a fuck ton of money.

Whenever his eyes grew bigger than his stomach, and his pockets, he was focused. If nerves were the usual order for others, his ambition was the ingredient that allowed him to not fear certain repercussions. With a full stomach, how could he fit anything else in? Before feasting though, he always ate with his eyes, and they were shining with great big dollar signs.

As the night crept in he wound down the window of the black 1931 Lincoln. It wasn't the newest car on the market, yet it held its own in speed and price. Better yet, it was stolen, so the price didn't mean squat to them. It was an easy pinch for what was ahead and Axel was certainly dressed for the occasion.

Full black three piece suit, black tie, black fedora, black gloves, black everything. Shit, he would've even worn black underwear if he had a pair. And this was how the conversation continued, as Axel and @EricaWilde killed time with some verbal jousting before anything major kicked off. A streetlamp flickered on close by as Axel casually ashed his cigarette out the window, then emptied his lungs of smoke before speaking.

"Well, it all has to co-ordinate. There's no use wearing a red tie with a blue suit. It just doesn't make any fuckn sense. What kind of shoes would you even wear with a blue suit? And what do you match the tie with? Simple colours. Blacks, greys, and if you get the suit right, you use a different coloured tie to make a statement."

Axel took a quick drag on the lucky strikes cigarette. He liked the brand, more so the name 'lucky' that came with it. Which is why he was so particular about his colours matching. It was a 'luck' thing for him, above anything else.

"Now for you broads though, you got it easy." he stated before blowing the smoke out of the car window once more.

Erica opened her window, which took a little more muscle then it should have. She wouldn't have had such a hard time if it were one of the newer models but she didn't want to say anything, she knew Axel picked it up just for this occasion. The only thing she could think of though was to get the cloud of smoke out of the car. His window being opened surely wasn't enough. Even though he was trying to blow it out his window it wasn't working out as planned and the cloud of smoke just sat stagnant in the car. She tried to hold her breathe until the window was fully down but just couldn't hold it in anymore. Erica took a short breathe just to get some kind of oxygen in her body but all she inhaled was smoke. She began to cough while still fighting with the window, finally she had enough and flung the door open.

Erica stuck her head out of the car as the smoke rushed out past her.

"Do you plan on smoking that entire pack in one sitting?" Erica asked in a smart ass tone.

She was already a bit annoyed, the role she about to play in this resulted in her wearing some clothes that she usually would never be caught dead in. It was the corset that really did it though, it felt like she was being strangled by a boa. The only thing that kept her from taking it off and getting back into her normal clothes was the amount of money the two were about to come in to.

It was a bit brisk outside, Chicago this time of the year is really not the place you want to spend prolonged time outside. Getting back in the car she listened to Axel rant out his outfit of choice. It went something like Black this and Black that and nothing matches with Black, Erica just shook her head it wasn't until his last comment that she finally opened her mouth.

"What do you mean we have it easy? Have you not seen what I'm wearing? Do you know how hard it was to get this thing on before I left? I had to have Mouseycop help me tie this thing from behind and now I can hardly even breathe. We have it easy... yeah ok. Look at you in all that Black. I bet it took you all of 2 minutes to decide all of that and get ready. Oh and by the way a red tie would have made that whole outfit pop."

She looked him up and down before rolling her eyes and shaking her head. He did look pretty good in his suit, it really was a good choice but she didn't want to let him know that. Erica wiggled a bit in her seat, trying to find that one comfortable spot but at this point with this thing on it was almost futile.

"Where are these guys, I thought you said they were going to be here by now?"

Axel pulled hard on the cigarette, then blew the smoke out of the window again. He wasn't a chimney, but his habits tended to rear their ugly heads when he was getting ready for an important task. The cigarette was basically done. A flick of the forefinger sent it out and into the chilled air. It bounced on the ground a few times, the amber end still lit.

With a quick effort, Axel then made short work of the window, winding it up and closed. He had heard what she said, all points, yet his mind was currently ticking over about the last question. Where the fuck were these guys indeed. The removal of a gold plated pocket watch followed. Axel took a quick peak at the opened face, then closed it back up.

The watch slid back into the right jacket pocket as Axel attempted his rebuttal of the clothing discussion, whilst sidestepping the questioning of who they were awaiting. He took great pride in being on point. The ego had a way of ignoring certain things, and as he shuffled on the seat his ego was very much present.

Axel's black gloves gripped the steering wheel as he peered out into the parking lot, trying to catch a glimpse of movement, as he spoke.

"Come on now, you can't be serious. You broads are brought up with accessorizing. Even from an early age you dress for looks as well as whatever else. We only do this shit when we have the money to, and even then we just do what everyone else is doing, cause we don't know shit about shit."

Axel turned his head and looked at Erica. A quarter smile appeared on his face. It was feint, yet if you were aware enough you'd have noticed the slight change. He was very much aware of Erica's outfit though, which caused him to want to smirk, but he held it back as much as he could.

Axel quickly turned his head away and looked back out the front window. The car was reverse parked in the parking lot, so the front was facing where other cars could be seen passing, as well as other activity about the motel.

"I'm just sayin', it's harder for a guy to look and dress well."

By this point he was very much full of himself. He was partly referring to his own dress sense, and partly trying to make light of what Erica was actually wearing. He did help plan this, after all, and his ego wanted to explain that it wasn't as bad as it was. By now though, he was beginning to doubt the shit he was actually saying. But, ego being ego, he kept on.

Not wanting to be caught half smirking, Axel kept his view forward. A pair of headlights began to shine into the parking lot. It seemed a car was pulling in at the entrance. They were parked more towards the back and couldn't yet make out the vehicle itself, or the occupants.

Erica was about to comment once again but before she could mutter any words out of her mouth she noticed the headlights pulling into the parking lot. Almost instantly the two got quiet and sat super still, you would have been able to hear a pin drop if one were to have dropped. She kept her eyes fixed towards the car coming towards them, she wasn't quite sure what or whom to be expecting but she kept her focus fixed.

It was nearly pitch black outside, the only real shimmer of light came from a street light by the entrance of the motel and a couple random room light which shone through the closed blinds of occupied rooms.

The car parked in the middle of the lot in between a couple of beater cars, it was quite the nice car. By the looks of what she saw she was able to point out that is was an Auburn Convertible Cabriolet. It was quite the fancy car to pulling up to a motel at this time of night, it was definitely very much out of place. She nudged Axel on his arm with her elbow to get his attention, even though she already knew he was fixed on the car as well.

"Is that the mark?" She said in a soft low tone as if the people were able to hear her.

The drivers door opened up, a well dressed chubby bald guy stepped out of the car. He walked around to the other side and opened the passenger door. A scantily clad dressed woman stepped out, by the looks of it she had been around the block a couple of times. Erica could tell this wasn't her first time visiting this motel. She let out a sigh.

"I bet you they aren't even in that room for 30 minutes. I don't see him paying for the next 15 minutes."

Erica chuckled as a sharp pain dug into her side.

"Ugh, I can't even laugh in this damn things. What the hell."

She began to grow more impatient, waiting wasn't one of her strong suits. She began tapping her fingers on her knee and was about to go back to the clothing conversation, when another set of headlights pulled into the parking lot.

Axel was impatiently close to pulling out his cigarette tin and sparking another habit when the second set of headlights appeared. He hadn't removed his focus from the happenings outside the reasonably priced and not-as-wilde-as-some people movers. His hands gripped the steering wheel a little tighter with the repeat performance, the leather gloves making a soft rubbing sound as he clamped down harder still, as he eyed the car which had now rolled into the parking lot.

"Shhhh." he hushed, figuring Erica's dress was the one making all the noise.

The dark green Buick 50 slowly pulled into an empty space. Well, it pulled into two empty spaces, as the driver mustn't have cared too much for the lines painted to guide the assholes into the proper parking spot.

"Assholes." Axel exclaimed in a low tone as he gripped the wheel tighter. He wasn't one for rules, but come on, who the fuck would be so rude.

"I bet it's them, I mean who the fuck else would be so rude." he bellowed before copping a quick elbow in the ribs. Maybe it was from the shush, or his pointless whining, or another dig for the dress. Whatever the case, it did the job.

Axel squinted and squirmed as he felt the sharp pang after effect in his side, all the while trying to keep his attention on the occupants of the car who were now hopping out. They parked quite close to the lamp, right outside the row of motel rooms. Each numbered door looked exactly the same, clone like, one after the other. Two well dressed men donning fedora's exited the car, real business like. No chatter. No casual stares into the surrounding environment. Robotic. Assholes.

"That's them."

It had to be, Axel thought. He didn't know who they were targeting by face, and they certainly weren't about to ask them their names. It was just the look of 'em, the intuition that jumped up from the pit of the stomach when you saw two men who looked like they were here for one thing and one thing alone.
