The great Philadelphia depression. Started by: Quinn on Jan 03, '17 22:38

Happy fucking new year!

Depression. Depression is a horrible thing to suffer from. It looks like Philadelphia had gotten themselves quite stuck in depression. When you start hitlisting yourself in this world, it looks incredibly suicidal. I understand it is not very pleasurable to have one of your own hitlisted, but by joining in their misery... aren't you merely proliferating said misery?

Back in the days of when my great great grandmother, ScipitaRourke, was alive we would shoot anyone who hitlisted themselves on sight. It's a plain sign of suicidal behavior. There is no place in the mafia for suicidal thoughts, it makes you a liability and a security risk.

It is my personal belief you should NOT hitlist yourself, ever. If you find it funny, I hope you find your whisper funny.  If I was Tellurium, I would have bought off all your hits. As much as I understand your thoughts to protect Tellurium, she also had the responsibility to protect you, provide peace, order, and good government. Allowing you to hitlist yourself, to me, does not feel like she was looking out for you. I'm quite close with a few of those mentioned on the hitlist. I am sorry to see this all taking place.

'Don't be an emo, be a mafioso'

Bullying. On the hitlist there's a lot of bullying mentioned in the reasons for the kamikaze hits. This is the mafia guys, not fucking kindergarten! You should really bring some condoms for your heart, cause your feelings will get fucked often here. It's not about feelings, or bullying actually, for that matter. When you eat your Wild Turkey for thanksgiving, was the stuffing process really bullying? Or were you just preparing a nice meal?

Rest in peace.

A happy fucking new year it will be. I see another piss poor reason to KEEP PH in depression mode has come to the table.

Make no misstates, I was not a part of PH nor do I know anything what you speak of but you surely got my attention with your follow up of your well wishes of Happy fucking new year. I got a few questions and comments.  Feel free to humor me.

It is rare thing one hit lists themselves. There is a very simplistic alternative route to take if ONE really wants  to suicide.  Now beings you stated one hit listed themselves, what concern is it of yours?  Should this not have been their crew leaders choice to address? I see where you mentioned it was up to Tellurium to protect and buy off the hit list. Again, I know nothing but this here sounds to fucking fishy and nothing more then a set up to boost up ones own personal agenda.

You want to talk about mafia?

Well wouldn't the alternative be that she actively encouraged her members to hitlist themselves? I find that even stranger and incredible poor management! Perhaps you are right, perhaps you do know nothing.

I never professed to know nothing. Make no mistake. And how is it you were privy to she encouraged them?

Axel initially overheard the remark 'You should really bring some condoms for your heart, cause your feelings will get fucked often here' and wanted to give his comment directly to the speaker. It brought a wry smile to his usually straight faced dial. As he approached, he noticed a young buck throwing his or her weight around.

Axel gave a casual salute to Quinn before opening his mouth and jabbering away.

"Just ignore the rambling drunken salt mine over here."

Axel dug his hands into his pockets and kept them there. He felt no threat, even though there was an obviously unhappy and somewhat bitter individual kicking about. Words could only do so much, Axel thought, and knew, from experience.

"I've noticed that after some blood in the nation those with poison in their veins come out of the caves like vampires, looking to suck on the blood of the dead, anything to get that little taste, that little bit of satisfaction in the wake of those now lay to rest. It's like they simply lie in the shadows, and when a little bit of blood is spilled, they fuckn dive face first into it, sucking at it, like a junky that has been denied a fix for ex amount of years."

Axel turned his attention to the angry youngster. He couldn't help but feel this life would be short lived, like so many before it that stepped to the streets with such passionate disapproval of what this life, this way of living, was all about. Axel looked arrivederci directly in the eyes, casually, but directly.

"Finally, they have their moment, their time to shine. But because dead blood is bad business, they end up vomiting all over the fuckn place, and leave their vile insides on the streets for all to see."

Axel removed his right hand, holding a coin. He flicked it in the air towards arrivederci.

"Here's the penny for your thoughts, you must've been seeking, because you'll get nothing more from this world with that kind of attitude. I wish you well, yet you'll need more than well wishes to make it in this life."

After the coin found its target, Axel then grabbed at his crotch momentarily. His left hand was still casually warming in its corresponding trouser pocket.

"You've got some of this..."

He then pointed to his head, tapping near his temple with the same right hand as he continued speaking.

"But, you lack a lot of this."

Axel then tipped his hat to the fresh faced civilian.

"You need both balls and brains to make it here, kid. If that is, what you want and intend to do. Otherwise, what exactly is your purpose here? In life I mean, what exactly are you living for?"

Timing is a tricky thing I'm afraid. If you speak your thoughts whilst the death are awake, it's too soon... if you speak your thoughts whilst the death are dead it seems disrespectful. You speak during the war, well, that's just adding to chaos and emotions.

I understand what you're saying Axel, and to a certain point I even agree that it's not the nicest thing to question matters afterwards, well voice such question. With that said, it is in no way my intention though to just give a kick to a death corpse. Or how you say it, suck out some blood.. The intent of my speech is to discuss and voice my opinion about the way the hitlist was handled. I'm sure we all have our opinion on it, weather we chose to voice it or not.

When I initially wrote up the drafts for this speech it was actually in present tense, Tellurium was still alive and very close from reaching the respectable rank of Godfather. It's truly sad that she did not manage to reach this goal. However, that is not what this is about. It's about the way the hitlist was dealt with.

There's nothing wrong with recapping history. I honestly believe that if she had dealt differently with the hitlist, she would have made it to Godfather. If we don't speak about errors of the past, how will we learn in the future?

"I completely agree, on all points. I think I should've been clearer. I like this discussion you've raised. I was referring to your number one fan over here with the dead blood talk. It's like some people just wait till blood is spilled so they can ride that negative wave and come out of nowhere to drown our ears with nonsense. I appreciate all input, yet some people's intentions are so loud that one can't help but wonder if they really care about what they are out here talking about, or if they are just here to be negative Abercrombie's. I apologize for getting off topic."

Axel drew back hard on the cigarette. He noticed he'd gotten quite a ways off topic, and compensated with a little of the old and trusty smoke inhalation. Whether it calmed him or not, he at least now knew he was to get back to the purpose of the discussion.

"First, rest in peace to the fallen."

Axel felt his jacket pockets by patting his chest in an effort to see if a hip flask was on his person. It wasn't, so he simply went on.

"I also think that hit listing yourself is a little nutty. I saw a point to what they were doing, getting a message across through the same platform that was being used to get at one of their own. When I first got wind of all the self published hits, it sounded like madness. My contacts alerted me to it, and I honestly initially didn't see it as something as big as your code of ethics did, but after hearing your input here I can definitely see the other side of it."

Another puff of the cigarette followed, then a flick of the index finger and thumb sent the lucky strikes tobacco stick to the dirt. It was close to being finished, so Axel just let it burn itself out.

"If I placed a hit on myself, I'd risk being shot at and killed by at least someone somewhere. If it were anonymous, maybe I want to prop up my reputation a little. Nutty, risky, but who'd know it was me. By letting people know it's me doing the bidding though, it seems like I don't value my life. I'd have to wonder what my peers would think of me, in Vegas and the other cities."

"There may have been a fuck ton of liquor involved when deciding that was a good thing to do. We're professionals here for the most part. We have self imposed rules and standards. Probably not the most professional way to go about dealing with the issue at hand, at least, not something I would personally do or influence others to do."

"But, it's just my opinion. People will be judged on their actions, and are. Maybe others will speak up about their thoughts on the matter."

Drunky staggers into the discussion and falls over like the lumbering bumblefuck he is.  He straightens himself up and takes another drink before starting his ramble.

"Hitlisting yourself?  Sounds like an oddballed way of pointing towards a dream I had somewhere.  Or maybe a final little Maori warrior dance before the battle begins.  I don't know.  I didn't hitlist myself.  But - I guess the question I ask myself:  How is it harming me if they hitlist themself?  It really isn't, and therefore I don't find it to be much of my business."

Drunky finishes the bottle and opens another...

"Now in terms of professionalism??  FAIL!!!.  Absolutely correct.  I'm a drunktard who maybe doesn't always conduct themselves in the most professional manner, but I know when I have to straighten myself up.  Leaders and people who talk too much will always place themselves in a position for higher scrutiny.  Doing things that are perhaps against the normative guidelines of our world will certainly bring attention your way as well."

Drunky rips a fart, scrunches up his nose and takes another swig...

"The true thing though is that the action is done, and I'm just a rambling away.  Rest in peace to the fallen.  May your kin pop up and thrive in this world if they so choose."

Drunky pounds some knucks at the people who nodded and actually thought he was onto something and takes off again.
