Universal Conversations About Protection Orders Started by: Extraordinary on Jan 05, '17 15:37

Hello,

I see that we have no spot to discuss the protection orders, and the spot to give them is according to some not the spot to discuss them. I am mixed on this so I thought I would give us a nice little discussion spot to discuss them.

If  you would follow me please.

Extraordinary turned from the street to an abandoned lot right next to it. In it stood a fairly sturdy looking building. She had already made sure it would not crumble if people started to walk into it. Taking a key out of her pocket she opened the door and held it open for anyone who wished to join her.

It's not the best of places but it will do I suppose. Might want to bring your own coffee though.

Finding a chair she used it to prop the door open and went about giving a tour of the place until the living room. She had already set up some chairs.

Find a spot. Enjoy.

"What reasons would you have to discuss a protection order if it was announced correctly with exact details about the order itself may I ask?"

Report Post Tip

Personally, I am sure there are tonnes of things that one could discuss. Here is my list.

She hands him a piece of paper that outlined briefly some thoughts about protection orders that she had gotten from others speaking up.

  • Loyalty about the people involved - Dependent on situation
  • Whether the protection order is being followed
  • Thoughts about there even a point to said protection order

However, I should clarify a little something. This is a potential problem solve to the constant lines we hear ringing out in the location for protection orders that it was not the spot to discuss. I figured instead of harping on it I would open up a safe place for people that do have something to say about them. Right now that is not me, but clearly someone else has a little something they wish to discuss so I jumped at a chance to provide such a place for people.

A solve to a possible problem. No more, no less.

The reason that its not the spot to discuss them, is because it detracts from the actual orders themselves. If people litter the area with loads of chat about the orders then no-one can hear the actual order. Seems pretty sensible to me really.

I think it would be more pertinent for people to choose somewhere else to discuss the order, whether that is here on this specific corner every single time, or on their corner of their choosing with each order, makes no difference to me. However I personally would stop at my own corner and bring up the discussion regarding my issues, rather than try and arrange a specific spot for people to openly discuss issues where there are none.

"Personally, I don't think there should be a spot to talk about protections orders, but I can give you an answer of each of your points that I have in front of me."

Artus has another quick look at the note handed to him and continues to answer Extraordinary.

"Okay, so your first point is loyalty about the people involved in protection orders correct? I would think that during a take down, or even before a take down those loyal people would already be considered to be shot. It makes no sense to wipe out a district or even a city and leaving loyal people behind that could possibly cause harm to you or to others. I don't think anyone in their right mind would leave loyal people behind intentionally, maybe one or two may be missed but you can't always tell who is loyal and would stand for their city and who would die for their city.

You should have faith in the fact." Artus takes another quick look at the note to make sure he's on the right path. "That the upper structures of this world would try and find the witness statements for those protected and wrongly killed. Just because you don't see anything happening about broken protection orders doesn't mean there isn't. The community doesn't need to be involved with every situation or updated on a daily basis.

Perhaps if you, or your mother, or even her mother were to join a family, you may get a telegram or two about these incidents.

Thirdly, why wouldn't there be a protection order for people? Those who have nothing to do with whatever reasons someone is taken out shouldn't affect the younger ones. They should be protected. In some cases, protection orders aren't placed, this may be due to a gun malfunction on someone or other reasons so a first wave isn't always completed smoothly. In those cases, nearly the entire district or even city would be wiped out in fear of protecting those that are left... Which is only natural. If there is a cock up, you take no chances and remove them all. I don't think all take downs result in the removal of every single living person from said district or city, but it does happen when accidents occur.

Anyway, I have rambled far too long now and I am tired"

Artus skips off and heads back to find Slash to pick his pockets if he hasn't wandered too far.

Extraordinary smiles politely even though inside she knew she had no actual issues at the moment but since she had brought it up it only makes sense to see it through.

All very good points.

She looked directly at Artus with some form of amusement. He was well spoken but she wondered if he realized his points had opposing points that could be discussed as well. With a shrug she watched him skip off. Made no sense to continue a conversation with someone who had already left it but she'd give his points some thought nonetheless.

If someone has a specific issue with the fine details of an order then have a private word with the person that arranged it, that's my personal view. If you have a broader point to make then the streets are wide - don't stand in front of the protection notice board obscuring the view for people looking for factual information. Cross the road and shout about it somewhere else - there is always space for a separate discussion.

In terms of whether it's being followed - this is obvious from the obituaries in our newspapers and the person that issued the order is responsible for its enforcement. Think it isn't being engorced? Chat to your boss and they can nudge the individual responsible.

The reason that we protect members, as mentioned by Artus, is that most of us (maybe not all - but separate point eh?) aren't deranged murderes and the gun should be the last avenue to conflict resolution. So we like new blood to come to the streets and learn our trade without being wiped out the minute someone they once shook hands with gets themself killed for a conversation they knew nothing about. Once made into a family you do have a duty to fight on as best you can, but if you're just an associate of a family pushing shrooms on a cold street corner and kicking up 10% then you're not breaking any vows when you look for fresh employment.

Bonkers by that logic, why do we burn citys down, instead just hit the people involved, or the gang?

Report Post Tip

Artus couldn't find Slash, he must've know his pockets were going to get picked and hopped on the next flight out. He returns back to where he recently spoke, hoping to catch a little more.

"I believe I already answered that question NextGenBearman. Sometimes a first wave goes wrong or a gun backfires meaning that we need to remove all resources for that one who still lives, limiting their chances of doing as much damage as they can. In instances like this, a protection order won't go up until said person or even persons are dead. At this point, everyone in the attacked city becomes a threat and is removed."
