The Wall Started by: Fate on Jan 09, '17 21:24

There's not much to do at The Wall. People sometimes lean against it. Or sit on it. Kids spray paint on it occasionally. People have stuck their chewing gum on it.

But sometimes, a lone figure will approach The Wall, hat pulled low on their head and collar turned up. They shove a tiny, folded piece of paper into a crevice in The Wall. Cryptic messages are passed back and forth between shady businessman. Or maybe they're coded love notes between men and their mistresses?

In any event, it has become a mode of communication for those that don't wish to risk having conversations on phone lines that could be tapped, or attempt to discuss illegal activities in barrooms where there are always too many eyes and ears.

Those in the know call it the Omertà Wall.

Fate steps up to The Wall one very quiet afternoon in Detroit. Not much business to be had here these days, but there were still a few dollars to collect and she'd had nothing better to do. She sticks a small origami flower in the shape of a Florentine iris in one of the crannies and walks away. Inside, a penned message, intended for the man with the tattooed wrist.

Arizona approves. Continue private negotiations?

Axel approached the wall and quickly noticed something sprayed on it with spray paint off to one side. It read.. 'PVMM Sucks Dicks' and was accompanied by a large picture of a penis. It wasn't the best drawing, or hand style either. Something some rug rat kids would've done.

"Little fuckn shits." Axel thought, before taking a quick peek over both shoulders to confirm no-one else was around.

Axel then slipped a piece of paper into one of the crevices. He chose a spot right underneath the graffiti. It just seemed ironically right. It was a little dint into the brick work, most likely done with some kind of tool. He took another shady looking glance around as he flipped up the collar of his overcoat, then walked away.

Jackson's days of what these Italians called 'busting balls' seemed to be all but over after Axel had told him to gather his shit and get to Detroit. The wall. The only bit of information Jackson had as to what was going on here. He'd been standing by for the past few hours watching people come and go until Axel finally made an apperance. He watched closely as to where the note was placed and shuffled nervously to collect it.

Your gonna need a piece kid, Jackson White, the hub.

A peice Jackson thought...how fucking Italian.

Lysol wobbles up to the wall on ridiculously high heels and a trashy fox stole. Her skimpy dress hangs on for dear life as she bends over and shoves a note into one of the wall's cracks. Her dead employer, Axel, had told her to come here if anything should happen to him.

Unfortunately, it had, and she missed her pimp daddy.

Inside the note, in her childish scrawl, it reads:

Byzantine  Constantine ,

Where do I go? What am I supposed to do now? The girls are so confused! And I think Candy may have a little TimTam in the oven! Please help us!

Vincent walked around "mmm what is this place?"

Loaded on too many martinis (there were a lot of bars in Detroit. A LOT.), Merci stands near the wall, waiting for the cab she's called. Bored, starts reading the random graffiti on the wall. Some of it is complete jibberish, but some of it is hilarious, and quite anatomically accurate. Pulling out a pen knife, she finds a clear spot and starts carving. The finished product is a heart with the initials 'A' and 'M' inside. Unfortunately, she's written them in reverse order and the end result looks like a tribute to one's mother.

Oh well. She didn't think Augustus_Caesar came to Detroit much, anyway.

Angelina snuck up to the wall and signed her name before she drew a bunny. As she walked away from the wall, she giggled some as she looekd at her phone, receiving a funny text from Klejnot. "Silly Rabbit." she said thoughtfully as she left.

Merci returns a final time to the wall, carrying a gas can. Removing the stopper, she pours the diesel fuel all along the length of it, taking care to splash it on every side, in every crack and crevice.

Removing a cigarette from a pack, she lights up and inhales deeply, a wide grin on her face as she tosses the match onto the wall. Flames burst to life, and she's forced to stand back from the heat to watch as the the entire thing goes up like a cement torch, paint peeling and blackening before her eyes.

Having added 'pyromania' to her newly acquired set of self-destructive behaviors, she's still grinning as a cab arrives and whisks her away to the airport.

Another burned out spot. This one was simply a charred wall, though. The wall itself still stood, but the graffiti, notes, and other detritus were long since burned up. Merci takes a finger and traces a clean path through the soot. The urge to make a reference to the word 'meatload' was nearly overwhelming, but she managed to refrain. Barely.

Hi Kathryn!

She knew her boss would see it. Kathryn was drawn to Detroit over and over again, like a bee to honey. Smiling, Merci made her way down the street, wondering what else she could get up to while she was here.

Report Post Tip

Kathryn looked down at the burned wall, which had her name on it. She took a small twig and wrote "Hi" under it before she walked away.

swalinny walks across a wall. It looked nice. She leaned against it waiting for someone she knew to cross her path.

Report Post Tip

Sky noticed for the first time a wall, some lean against it others painted on it. he was a little confused about how this wall worked, but imagined it couldn't be to difficult to figure out.

he leans against it but that is very uncomfortable, why would anyone want to lean on this wall. looking around he finds some paint and begins to draw on the wall, first a little bit and than a lot by the time he is done he had drawn a detailed map from the wall to his pie factory with a happy smile he makes his way back to his pie factory.

Report Post Tip

Stop number two, and Merci points behind The Wall, indicating The_Courier should stash the crate of whisky there while they toured the town. Looking at Kathrynshe asks her boss where she'd like to go.

"We can sit right here and drink until our next flight, find somewhere new, or find somewhere old and have The_Courier practice a new skill? You pick," she says.

Report Post Tip

Kathryn looked out at Detroit with a strange sense of deja vu- and conflicting emotions. Merci  The_Courier stood beside her, as she mentally cycled through places she'd come across in her investigations.

"I know a place. Under new ownership, but it should be a good place to have a drink. I think I need one. Or seven. It might be a bit of a walk, though, so we should probably catch a cab? Heard it's a good time, though."

Report Post Tip

The Courier nodded at Kathryn's suggestion. "Aye, I would go wherever ya both suggest. Just lemme finish stacking these here boxes first." he says, as he carries the crates to their hiding place, his brow covered in sweat, and his sinewy muscles bulging with effort.

Report Post Tip

As four people run past in the dark, each stop and grab a crate of whisky before heading to the bartender's car. Stuffing their prize in the trunk, they quickly climb in and speed off into the night.

It is the last time anyone bothers utilizing the wall for anything, after that. The following week, it has been marked for demolition and a sign on it reads:

NO TRESPASSING

Report Post Tip

I walked up to a weird wall, well fuck it being weird it was just a wall. Writing covered it with cracks all over. It was interesting but all in all I had no real idea what the place was for. I went up and leaned against it I wasn't in a hurry to be anywhere so I decided to pull out a cigarette.

puff after puff, I pulled out a flask and knocked back a healthy swig. I didn't know what tonight had in store but until I got to that point I was just leaning here thinking about everything and nothing at the same time.

Report Post Tip

It was raining.
Slowly approached the wall.He smoked , Then he took his pen from his pocket and wrote on a piece of paper:
<<  Today is beautiful .
Raining is a good reason to meet my most beautiful dream ;
So I'm waiting in the cafe tonight , like always  .

~Alfie <3 >>

He turned off the cigar and stuffed it with the letter in the wall.

Then he left there ...
