Lord was eating his breakfast, in his new modest bungalow, contemplating the letter he had just received. It was a job offer from the mayor of Chicago, asking him protection during the town parade in two days. The letter mentioned that he could bring along as many people as he wanted, willing to pay them incredible amounts of cash. He just couldn't refuse the job, there was too much money involved. He immediately started to think about who he wanted to come with him. He spent a couple of minutes, starring at his bowl of cereal, calculating everything in his head. He finally arrived to the conclusion that Daniella was the best one to accompany him on the job. The only thing standing in his way now was the human part of it, which meant actually her if she wanted to do it. At first he wasn't stressed out about it, sure she would accept without a doubt. He packed clothes for his job and a short stay in the wind city and grabbed his saxophone case. He got hold of it after his father's death and he had been trying to learn ever since, with very poor success. He dropped by Fate's bungalow, telling her he would be leaving for the next week or so. She had now become his friend as well, it felt really good to have friends. After a long and exhausting trip to the famous wind city, Lord quickly grabbed his luggage and made his way to the big HQ. He had heard a lot about the new Crew Leader and pressure was starting to add up. "What if she says no? What if she doesn't like me? What if...." Thoughts where racing through his mind and he was starting to panic. He hated it, but he just couldn't help it, it was stronger than him. He nervously walked to the HQ's front door and gently tapped three times, hoping he wasn't disturbing anything. |

The Tiger’s Lair headquarters in South Side, Chicago was buzzing with activity. Daniella had only set up here less than a week ago and already the crew was just about full and she had been busy running around CH to make sure her crew had everything they needed and to ensure that the district was ready for the arrival of its future godmother, Mouseycop. Protection was first, her own bodyguards serving to guard the place around the clock and she’d spent millions to make sure forts were built in and around the building. Furniture was next; everyone needed a bed after all, a place to crash during wars or when the night went long. She needed offices for her and the hands, a crew lounge and game room, a room for planning crimes and of course a place to stash the drugs and alcohol. She had the men hard at work again today, moving things around, hanging paintings and fixing lights. So at first, the knock on the door wasn’t quite heard. It was a gentle knock that was nearly overshadowed by the other noise filling the halls, but luckily for Meme_Lord, a guard was nearby. The front door was pulled open by a rather burly looking man, who looked Lord up and down before asking him what he wanted. When he asked to see Daniella, he would be led down the hall towards the back of the headquarters, where she was overseeing the installation of a pool table in what would be their family’s game room. “Boss, someone here to see you.” Spinning to see their new guest, Daniella beamed at Lord, her smile welcoming. “Well hello there. Welcome to the Tiger’s Lair. Something I could do for you?” |
