Lord was walking in the busy streets of Vegas, sometimes running into busy people. He kept his head low and his hands in his coat, walking as fast as possible away from all the people. He finally arrived in the ruins of the Gardens, which where still green and luxurious. He sat down near the apple tree, where his father got the Right Hand offer and just sat there thinking about a recent situation that had arrived. "Humor. It is something that we don't see that often on the streets and some people, like my bloodline, sometimes speak up with what seems like idiotic and sometimes funny answers. Some people find it hilarious and play along, and others might find it disgusting and deprived of any form of humor. My question here is when does someone cross the line between being funny to inappropriate?" |

There was no humor in it my friend... If someone kills you at the beginnings, it means you did some things right... Just leave the things from the past be. Remember and pardon, but don't forgive, it's my message. |

Believe it depends on what the topic is about or how the situation is. If it's a serious situation or a serious topic then most of the time the humor and craziness won't be appreciated, though sometimes you may get away with it if it's needed. Remember there's always a time and a place for all things. It really comes down to reading the situation, a well placed joke can help relieve tension and other negative vibes, or it can make you look like a fool. |

Meme_Lord this is indeed a tricky one. Often people need to find the line by actually crossing it - by definition they have found and exceeded the limits of what might be viewed as 'acceptable'. Everyone's humour is different too in terms of taste and freedom of use. I miss it on the streets I must say, the skill is in getting it right... It takes courage and conviction and effort to make speeches out here and the streets can sometimes be a cruel mistress. I do think if after someone has taken the time and effort to speck publically on a 'serious' topic then to attempt to belittle either the speaker or the topic with inappropriate humour might be an early line for that particular speech. Personalities should shine though here in the streets and if humour and wit is in your blood I am confident many will love to hear it. Equally street speaking is a skill to be honed - speakers should be more than capable of handling good humour, a metaphorical poke in the ribs, sometimes ignoring misplaced humour or addressing it if it really does cross a line. I am more than aware of the ironic dichotomy of replying so seriously to speech about humour. I will listen for your speeches and come and enjoy the humour I am sure they will bring! To redress the balance I will end with this..why did the chicken cross the road halfway? She wanted to lay it on the line....
You see there is a reason I should stick to the serious speeches!! |
