Like A Bat Out Of Hell Started by: JohnConstantine on Feb 03, '17 07:00

The mother fuckn streets. There was nothing like it. Shit stains and all. There was a charm to it. A character. That silent speaker that told volumes of a past with just a glance. And as Constantine pushed his foot down on the brake pedal, the previous whooshing by of street corners started to become more recognizable.

He'd been here before, but not like this. There was a definite intangible experience to driving one of the days best examples of an automobile, anywhere for that matter. But finally being able to take to the streets in an American beauty made his balls sing, or maybe that was the engine's vibrations coming through the metalic flooring and up into the leather finished seat.

As the car rolled to a halt at a traffic stop, Constantine glanced to the left of him, out of the open window. He dangled his arm out and pointed directly at the car next to them, which was also stopped and humming at the lights.

With a full diaphragm, he shouted toward the two sitting up front in the sedan.

"What a rust bucket! You need yourself one of these!"

Constantine's foot pressed on and off the accelerator, pushing juice through the engine and making her rawr like a fuckn lion on heat. He revved the absolute guts out of it as he continued to stare at the other car whilst waving his left hand in the air with a clenched fist.

After he had his moment of fun, he looked over at AntoninoMarino with a self pleased cocky grin from ear to ear. He was loving test driving the car from Grease Monkey Garage, but more so the feeling of manliness with a public show of bravado.

More than all of that though, and as he anticipated the lights were finally about to turn green, his heart and pride was full of zeal for what was about to come. With a middle finger now being shown defiantly toward the police cruiser, Constantine pushed down hard on the accelerator and slammed the gear shift into first.

The beast of a car spat up dust as the ballsy duo screamed through a partial red light, which changed to green just as they hit the middle of the intersection, swerving and barely missing clipping the back end of a ford pickup that tried its luck to beat the changing of the lights.

The Grease Monkey special kept picking up speed as various onlookers began noticing the car roaring past faster and faster like a bat out of hell whilst being followed by a set of flashing red and blue lights with a loud siren wooing along, attached to a definitely trailing yet intently chasing police car.

And as Constantine spun the steering wheel hard left all it could go, the back of the car kicked out slightly on the dusty gravel road as they skidded left into a side street and off the main strip. All the while, the madman behind the wheel yelled.. "Fuck the police!" whilst looking at his along-for-the-ride accomplice with a crazy glint in his eyes. Maybe he should be in that straight jacket afterall.

As the now dusty and dirty and very much driver tested car straightened out, Constantine pulled the steering wheel back the otherway, leading his Philly passenger and the most likely soon to be purchased car down another sidestreet. His intention was to both test the steering and lose the cops.

After being a few seconds down the road, Constantine pressed hard on the brake and guided the car to an abrupt halt on the side of the road. He glanced over at Antonino and still riding a fat wave of adrenaline spat out.. "So five large, was it?" then popped the doorhandle and hopped out.

Constantine was on a massive high, and couldn't keep himself locked in the steel people mover any longer. He fist pumped the air multiple times and kicked dust up as he yelled out.. "Woo, these black numbers have attitude!"

Constantine looked fondly at the Auburn 851 Speedster, breathing fast and hard as he threw his hands behind his scruffy blonde hair and interlocked his fingers, then whipped his head toward the entry of the street they just came down, as he noticed the sound of police sirens were getting closer.

I looked around as I hoped and prayed that the cops were gone. I almost closed my eyes as I turned around and saw two police cruisers beheind us, nearly feet away from our bumper. I could feel the cold air slapping my face and I knew if I botch my first sale, my garage is fucked. "So it seems you like the car sir." In normal situations I would of blown out the tires or killed the cop pursuers but now I am a businessman, not a trained killer.

'Why don't we bring it back too the garage and I can make you a deal you can't refuse"? A few more seconds of this and I will have to act soon. I turned around and they were still there, fuck this situation is turning to shit".

"Okay listen here you stupid motherfucker if you fucking ruin this car, I will bury you beheind my garage. So what about you keep it steady." I pull out my 1911 and lean out the passenger side window. I keep my pistol down and fire a shot, that hits the driver of the first car and they turn and hit a pole. I turn to my other side where the other car is located and I don't have a good shot from this position. So I fire a few shots which completely miss, doesn't help he turned when I was firing, idiot. I then finally shoot the two left front and rear tires out. So the car is barely functioning at this point. We easily drive away from it and we still continue to fly down the street.

"Now go back to the garage now, or I ain't selling you a fucking cent of this car". I look the driver straight in the face, as I have the 1911 lowered in my other hand.

"Here, you can drive us back then, or we ain't goin nowhere." Constantine instructed as he tossed what was supposedly the keys to AntoninoMarino, high in the air.

As the tightly balled up cardboard which was previously a cigarette packet came down, Constantine had already darted off down the street. A cop car also came flying around the corner and headed straight for where the car was parked.

Timing, eh? John kept up his quick pace then ducked down an alleyway, pulling out a deck of cards from his jacket pocket as he leaned against the wall and attempted to stay out of sight.

Antonino looked in the air and caught the keys, as Constantine made his getaway into the nearby alleyway and took into the shadows to hide. I slowly got out of the car and slightly thought of solutions to this problem but I decided to get back into the car and start the engine. I ducked as a few shots bullets flew over my head. Fuck that was to close. I threw the bitch into drive and took off. As I left, I gave Constantine the old middle finger. If I decided to come back at any point, I most likely would but this car is worth a lot of business and I cannot let it get impounded.

I take a quick right and down another street as two patrol cars follow me and one decided to stay there looking for Constantine. A few more blocks down the road and the coppers were coming closer, closer to touching my bumper. So I threw the car over the divider and into oncoming traffic. I swerved around one car that plowed into the front end of the patrol car. I then jumped the divider again and into normal traffic, as all I had was one patrol car left.

This car seemed to know how to avoid my tricks and even tried to pit maneuver me. So I jammed it down a side street and swung the car around and jumped out quickly. I fired my 1911 four times blasting four times through the driver side window and then I aimed at the passenger. He had enough time to get out of the car and he started to hide for cover behind his door. I slowly made my way around the car door and fired two shots into the cop and he went down. I looked around and then put my gun back into my suit pocket. I jumped back into the car and got the living fuck out of there.

From this point on I was just scrolling down the boulevard and could feel the wind on my glasses. I took them off for a second and dried them off from all the musty air out. I pulled over at a cafe and decided to get a coffee and a donut. Hey I deserved it, and I went inside. The place seemed to have a lot of people here, there donuts are to die for I heard. I scooted into the booth and it seemed private as most of the customers were far away from me. I ordered one black coffee and one of there specialty donuts. She smiled as she left and I was ready to taste that delicious donut, I could just feel my stomach getting ready for this meal.
