The mails you receive for promotions are only for the auto promotions up to Wise Guy, that your CL or family have nothing to do with. From there on, when family actually plays a part in your promotions, it's entirely up to the CL how they might wish to RP it.

In 99.9% of cases, they simply mash the button. The rare one has a coming of age ceremony where you swear your oath, drop some blood on old Francis or Mary herself and then get the all the good stuff... but it's the exception rather than the rule. 

I can see some minor perks in being able to customise those messages... but the lines it blurs between being an associate of a family and being a member of a family mean it probably has more cons than pros for me. It's all about the button. It's all about getting made. That's where the focus should be placed and where it's already in CLs hands to do it.

I agree with both sides to this.

Yet given I also had this exact same thought as this suggestion just days ago, I think having an option for a family to go the extra mile and write them completely new for all promotions would be very very cool.

I say option, as to give the stock standard experience as it is, and then for crews like RP Inc. who go really in depth with character immersion and development and role playing, it would be another thing to give an even more immersive experience.

Think of it this way. I start with RP Inc. from gangster. I'm with the crew, yet my auto promotions make it as if I'm not with the crew. I know it may seem minor, and in a sense it is, and the auto promotion MM's are bloody brilliant, yet it does make it as if I've never really been working with RP Inc. and an option like this could blow my frickin mind! Imagine a different auto promotion experience each time you join a crew, if they've gone to that extent that is, and how that could also be a selling point to potential recruits.

Now, at the very least, maybe give the option to change the names of the various characters you meet through the auto promotions in the crew management area, much like you can use certain things (codes, variables?)  when writing the jobs for the jobs board to relate to certain family members. This would even be a step in the same direction to make it more crew specific.

If it doesn't get an option or even the minor change no harm no foul, as it's well written and a fun thing to read as you get auto promoted. Yet if there was an option, character immersion through the bloody roof.

Hm. This makes me think there should be a hard-coded required mail from a CL to the WG before they're able to promote, but that could be tricky.
