First word: Thoughtful. Last word: Unaccountable. If this is the last post then the last word is: Thoughtful.
Thoughtful. That was the only way that Daniella could explain her current state of mind. The tall blonde woman sat in her second story office, a hand drawn map of South Side, Chicago laid out before her. This wasn’t any normal map, at least not the kind an average citizen would use for directions. Instead, this particular map detailed the layout of the three crews that were currently operating in the district. The head honcho was a woman named Mouseycop. Operating a crew called The Chicago Academy, she ruled over this district as Godmother and reported directly to the city’s Chairman, Godfather Bonkers. Daniella knew the woman well as she’d once served as her Right Hand; right now she was one of her Captains, operating her own crew called The Tiger’s Lair. Similarly, Don Rubix ran a second crew in South Side called the Woof Pack. Each of them had their own territory where they could extort the local business owners, own the crime on the streets, hunt down any rogue gangsters that hadn’t wanted to join a crew, buy and sell their drugs and other sorts of frowned upon activities. The map which Daniella was making was being done for a rather simple reason. Recently she’d been told that one of her men had tried to get taxes from a business owner that Don Rubix was already collecting from. The person had reportedly not realized they’d crossed a line into Woof Pack territory and thought they could obtain a new business for Daniella to earn from. Such issues were minor, truthfully; a bottle of champagne and a nice payment sent to the Don and the situation was smoothed over. Still, she didn’t want the same sort of mistake happening twice. It was while she was in the middle of drawing this map that Kate came exploding into her office, the door slamming open. “Boss, trouble coming!” The expression on the woman’s face made it clear that something was wrong, but Daniella had long ago learned that the best approach to any such entry was simply to remain calm. Clear heads think best after all. “Take a deep breath Kate, and tell me what’s going on.” Folding up the map, she put it aside and motioned for the other woman to sit. She could see Kate take a moment to compose herself before she approached Daniella’s desk. “One of the guys, a newbie just doing some jobs for us, he handed over this.” The paper was given to Daniella, who took a moment to read it while Kate continued to speak. “He said it fell out of some guy’s briefcase; couldn’t give us much more than that but the guy was headed towards the airport.” “A warning then, for him to leave town.” Daniella had only needed to see the name Tyler Durden to know that trouble was an understatement. The Godfather from Delaware City had longed wanted to expand into other cities, to wipe out the crews there and set up his own men, people like his Right Hand Marla Singer or his left hand Robert Paulson. They were a nasty group of men that weren’t welcome in the more civilized crews across the country. In fact, she’d had her own nasty encounter with Mr. Paulson not too long ago, right here in Chicago. She thought she’d managed to kill the man but apparently she’d been wrong. It was his name signed to this letter that she was holding, telling whoever the recipient was that Tyler and their men were going to be attacking South Side today and that he should take what he could and get the next plane out. Kate still had a worried expression on her face, which led Daniella to smile. “It’s going to be fine. How long ago did this arrive?” “We got it about 20 minutes ago, but that’s the thing, the guy had it for a couple of hours. He went to complete the job we’d given him first; guess he didn’t realize how important this was.” A flash of annoyance crossed Daniella’s face but was gone just as quickly. “Bring him to me. And find Brant, let him know what’s going on. I’ll alert the others.” If the letter had arrived hours ago, Tyler should be arriving at any moment. Picking up the phone she asked the operator to connect her with Mouseycop. After filling the Godmother in on what was going on, she made the same call to Don Rubix as well, letting them both know it was time to rally the troops. When Kate returned to the office, she brought a rather nervous looking young man, with her. “You found this letter?” Daniella asked, and the man nodded, not even being able to speak. “And you thought it would be best to wait hours before bringing us information that we were going to be attacked?” He stuttered, the words not quite coming out clearly. Something about needing the cash and wanting to get the job done. “There will be no jobs if we’re killed, you realize that don’t you?” Daniella hated nothing more than stupidity. And while this one had brought them useful information he’d brought it so late that they were lucky to get any warning at all. “Kate, see that the man is properly thanked for his work.” Her eyes met those of her Left Hand and she was greeted with a nod. In this instance, thanked was going to have him wearing cement shoes in just a few minutes. It was harsh, maybe, but this kind of delay could lead to deaths and no one could be left unaccountable.* |

First word: Unaccountable. Last word: Unbiased. If this is the last post then the last word is: Thoughtful. "Unaccountable, the lot of us." Rubix said to his Right Hand Man after getting off the phone. "Some fucker got word of an attack on us and didn't say anything for hours. Good thing Daniella made him responsible for it. We are in charge of organizing the barricades, gathering the ammunition and getting the civilians off the streets." Rubix's Right Hand man, HunterZolomon had not seen Rubix this rushed before. Hunter tilted his head to the side in confusion wondering who would be dumb enough to attack South Side Chicago. Not having time to explain or even let him ask the question Rubix answered, "Tyler Durden". HunterZolomon's jaw dropped as if he had no muscles to hold it closed. Rubix pushed up on his chin to help him close his jaw, "Chin up, we got this." Rubix picked up the phone and made a few calls to his underbosses to get the plans underway. Once the plans were in motion he sent his right hand man to the industrial district to pick up some heavy construction vehicles. The Woof Pack butler opened the reinforced front door to his front lawn. His eyes adjusted to the bright light of the mid afternoon sun, but he was quickly able to make out a few of his members, well dressed in their business suits that were hard at work with just a moments notice. Rubix was patrolling the streets, seeing to it that his men were gathering supplies and alerting the civilians of the attack. He made his way towards The Tiger's Lair to check in on Daniella's crew members and to make sure everyone had received word of the incoming hostilities. As luck would have it, Daniella was making her way to The Chicago Academy, headquarters to Godmother Mouseycop. "Do you need any more men to help? I have a few guys I can offer" Daniella said to Rubix. "Actually, a few of my members are speaking with the civilians and warning them and also asking for supplies. As it would turn out, these civilians are armed to the teeth and my members are having trouble carrying everything. If you could arrange some couriers to deliver supplies to The Academy it would save a lot of time that we don't have." Daniella gave a nod, noticing her right hand man Brant who was hurriedly making his way towards her. Rubix knew that Daniella would get the job done and continued his rounds once more. He gave the nod to each of his crew members as he passed them, one of the more memorable sights was that of a man that was re-purposing a little girls lemonade stand into an explosive trap. It was so invigorating to see all of South Side Chicago coming together as a district. There were people on every corner, running wires for explosives and building barricades, the closer Rubix got to the Godmothers Head Quarters, the more locked down the streets had become. He ran home to get an extra measure of protection and chose 4 of his most built bodyguards to come with him. "It is time to get the guard dogs." Struggling to move them all at once, Rubix and his 4 bodyguards rounded the corner opposite Daniella, being pulled by The Woof Pack guard dogs. Rubix always did trust dogs as a defensive measure but to see them out on the streets of Chicago would frighten even allies. The dogs knew their way to The Chicago Academy and nearly dragged the hulking bodyguards towards it. Daniella kept her distance by remaining on the opposite side of the street and casually letting them get ahead of her. As Rubix got within a few blocks of The Academy, HunterZolomon pulled up next to the group of men and dogs. He was in a giant yellow construction vehicle and was being followed by two others. He lifted the rigs back end for Rubix to load the dogs making for both a defensive and offensive structure on the lawn of the Academy. Rubix hopped up in the passenger seat and the bodyguards filed into the vehicles behind. Rubix jumped down from the giant steel construction vehicle and greeted Aldora, one of Daniella's members who was hard at work giving instructions to mobsters on the front lawn. Rubix addressed her casually, "Okay so what do you think? I only had a moments notice but I think I covered most of the preparations. My favorite is the guard dog trap, what is your unbiased* opinion?" |

"Unbiased?" Aldora had seen Rubix with his guard dogs once before and had barely made it to the other side of the street on time. Looking over at the beasts she almost took an involuntary step backwards, she knew they could rip a man apart in seconds. "I . . . I would honestly have to say your dogs are the most terrifying thing here." Rubix looked pleased with her answer, with a grin he offered to introduce her to the gentlest one. Thankfully a young gangster came sprinting towards them, out of breath by the time he reached them he was barely able to deliver his message. Tyler had been spotted in South Side, he was headed this way. An explosion sounded in the distance, followed by the sight of smoke filling the air directly facing the front lawn. Suddenly everyone stood still; listening, waiting. Glancing around her, Aldora wondered...how prepared were they really? Just two hours ago Aldora had been getting ready to fly to New York for the weekend, she had hoped to catch a concert at the Symphony Hall there. Her mother had told her how she had looked forward to it and enjoyed an eventful night. She hadn't even had time to change out of her evening dress! So here she was standing on the front lawn of The Chicago Academy with a gun in her hand wearing her best clothes. Around her mobsters started running every where; while most of them looked ready for the fight, she could see worry etched into their faces. Everyone knew Tyler Durden's reputation, he would be prepared and he would hit them hard. "Looks like the Durden crew has arrived, keep the fight going." With that Rubix left Aldora to take his place in the upcoming fight among his men. Grabbing a ribbon from her purse Aldora tied her hair back, grabbed her gun and headed towards one of the barricades. "ALDORA!" Daniella called out, marching in her direction. "Aldora, I need you to run back to Tiger's Lair. Tyler is headed this way now, but Paulson and Singer aren't with him. Find out if anyone knows where they are." Without another word, Aldora nodded at Daniella and took off. As she ran through South Side, small scuffles were taking place; most likely Durden's low level mobsters caught scouting ahead. She was only a block away from Headquarters when suddenly one of Robert Paulson's thugs appeared out of an alley and tackled her. Hitting the ground with a thud, she felt the wind get knocked out of her. Instincts taking over she rolled quickly on to her back, a foot landing where her head had been. She could see him reach for his gun, as she pulled hers. Everything seemed to slow down as she took aim and fired. It was a good shot, straight through his skull; he fell instantly. Aldora got up and checked no other Durden members were close by. She wanted to put her heel through his neck, slowly; but she doubted she had the time for such theatrics, plus it would have been more satisfying were he still alive. Keeping her gun out, Aldora made her way onwards. As she rounded the street corner she stopped dead. Bright orange flames danced in front of her, the barricades were on fire*. |

"FIRE" Shouted Reverse_Flash's body guarded shouted at him as he came running through the door of his office. "What where?" Stood up pulling his hooded mask up over his head. "It's at the Tigers Liar. Tyler Durden's men are there. We gotta do something!" He nodded as he looked at him closely, "Get the rest of the men meet me there." RF speeds out and the lightning trail followed behind him. He made his way zipping out around the streets over to Tigers Liar. Stopping to see the fortified walls were burning. Without hesitation he spun his arms as fast as he could attempting to blow out the fire creating a wind tunnel. BANG, the shout of a gun rang out before RF could notice it he felt it pierce through his should and he dropped to his knees. Turning to see Durden's men circling in on him. Standing up and moving around quickly even with a shot in the shoulder, fighting off the men as much as he can. Using hand to hand combat punching quickly and aggressively. He felt a bat crack him in the back and he dropped to his knees again. As he went to get up he felt freezing cold water blast him. He attempted to speed out of the way but it was so cold, his body couldn't move. Blacking out.. He awoke in a large room with just a light shining room with freezing cold running on top of him. His speed was completely useless to him now. Out of the shadows Tyler stepped into the front into the light. Reaching back and then slamming his fist into RF's jaw. "This is only the beginning, you just have to tell me where she is?" Punching RF in the face again. Spitting out the blood and looking at Tyler, "Fuck you." Taking out a knife and stabbing him in the leg. RF screams in pain. Tyler continues to punch the hell out of him. "I ain't telling you shit." Tyler grabbed his shoulder where the bullet wound was and squeezed hard. Reverse_Flash felt another punch to the face as he was thinking how much longer he could hold this pain.* |

First word: Voice. Last word: Ahead. If this is the last post then the last word is: Thoughtful. Meanwhile Charles was awoken by a voice knocking on his front door. "Charles get up! Trouble at HQ!" Charles had been drinking the night before, so he was still sleeping one off. Charles still barely awake slowly opened his eyes and walked over to the front door. As he opened the door Dezi stormed inside the house pushing Charles aside. "Charles what are you doing?! Get dressed, NOW! We are under attack!" Dezi shouted with a stressed out look on her face. "Wow, calm down. Under attack by who?" Charles asked with a confused look on his face. "Tyler Durden called out an attack on the South Side. We need all the help we can get right now. Now get dressed and meet me outside in 5 minutes!" Dezi yelled. Charles who was still barely awake at this point quickly got dressed without any questions. He splashed some water on his face, grabbed his favorite M1921 Tommygun and ran out the door. "We'll take my car, it's faster." Charles said to Dezi, who was patiently waiting for him outside his apartment. They both got into his Cadillac and took off. "Okay listen up, orders from Don Daniella are to find Robert Paulson and Marla Singer. From what I hear Tyler Durden has taken Flash from the Chicago Academy hostage somewhere. Our first priority is to find Paulson and Marla. We get to Paulson and Marla, we get to Tyler, we get to Tyler, we get to Flash." Suddenly Dezi slaps Charles in his face. "Hey! Are you listening to me?! I need you to focus!" Dezi yelled. "Yes, yes I heard you!" Charles said, as he felt the right side of cheek turn red. "Thank you Miss Dezi, I needed that." Charles said sarcastically. "First thing we need to do is pick up Viral and Panda. They are waiting for us on the corner of Garfield Avenue, near the post office. Now from what I hear, Paulson and Singer are driving a black Duesenberg. The car has been spotted in the area." Dezi said while she was reloading her Colt M1911. Charles pulled up on the corner of Garfield Avenue, where Viral and Panda were patiently waiting, trying their hardest not to look suspicious. It made Charles giggle a little. Dezi signalled the two to get in the car. Viral and Panda got into the car, hiding their guns under their long coats. "Hey guys, good to see you. There is some heavy shit going down." Viral said with a concerned tone in her voice. "Yeah, i've heard gunshots and explosions go off all over the area." Panda added. "Alright, orders from the Don are to track down Marla Singer and Robert Paulson. They are driving a black Duesenberg. Our job is to track them down, and hopefully getting the jump on them. They will certainly know where Flash is being held hostage. And they will eventually help us get to Tyler Durden. So try to keep one of them alive if possible, so we can interrogate them." Dezi said with a determined look on her face. Charles was slowly cruising down the streets of the South Side, trying to pick up any possible threats, while trying to locate the black Duesenberg. Gunshots can be heard in the distance, smoke can be seen throughout the South Side streets, and occasionally bodies can be seen lined up on the ground. It was total chaos, not even the police had enough manpower to contain this situation. As the group slowly approaches The Tiger's Lair, they notice HQ is heavily under attack. Suddenly Charles notices a familiar face walking out of an alley in the corner of his eye. He drives over to her and rolls the car window down. "Aldora! Are you okay?" Aldora turns around with a confused look on her face. Aldora who seems to be covered in blood splatters. "What happened to you?" Dezi asks. "Oh hey guys, yeah I think i'm alright. That bastard over there almost got the better of me." Aldora said still looking somewhat confused, as she points over to a dead body in the alley. "What are you guys doing here?" Aldora asked. "Listen we need to find Singer and Robertson. They are driving a black Duesenberg." Panda said. "You mean that one over there?" Aldora said as she points towards a shiny black Duesenberg model J across the street, roughly 100 meters away. The car seems to have spotted the group and takes off. Charles quickly pushes the pedal to the floor in pursuit of the black Duesenberg. His Cadillac V8 Town Sedan was fast, but he was no match for a Duesenberg model J. Charles was trying to keep up, but in the meantime the car was taking fire from several angles. Dezi, Viral and Panda roll the windows down and return fire on the rival family members, scattered throughout the streets. Charles's beloved Cadillac was taking considerable damage, and even though it should have been the least of his concerns right now, he couldn't help but muttering something under his breath. The Duesenberg surprisingly hadn't fired a single bullet yet, but Charles didn't mind that at all at the time. Racing down the chaotic streets of the South Side, still trying to keep up with the Duesenberg, the Duesenberg suddenly takes a sharp left turn into an abandoned field behind a large warehouse. "Shit, what do we do now? Do we go after them? Charles asked. "Yes go after them, but be careful." Dezi said. "Alright get your guns out just in case the bullets start flying." Charles added. He slowly turns left into the abandoned field, but the field is empty. "Where did they go?" Viral asked. "I don't know, check behind that warehouse." Dezi said as she points towards a large abandoned warehouse. Charles slowly drives alongside the warehouse. "They gotta be here somew..." Panda can't even finish his sentence. Suddenly a barrage of loud shots ring out, as the car is being penetrated by a hail of gunfire. Before Charles can even react a bullet lodges itself in his left arm, as he tries to duck for cover. "GET DOWN!" Dezi yells as she ducks for cover. The group doesn't even have time to return fire. It's all going so fast, you can't even see where the gunfire is coming from. Viral and Panda duck down for cover as the car is taking heavy damage. "GET US OUT OF HERE!" Viral shouts. Charles barely able to move his left arm pushes the car in reverse and tries to back up the car as fast as possible. Window glass is shattering, and bullets whiz by his ears. Somehow he is able to back the car up, and manages to get the car out of the line of fire. Charles quickly turns the car around and tries to get out of there as fast as possible, afraid that the Duesenberg might be in pursuit. However the Cadillac has taken heavy damage, and therefor the engine isn't functioning properly. "Is everyone okay?!" Dezi shouts, still trying to catch her breath, but seemingly unharmed. "I'm hit in my left arm, but i'll survive. We gotta get the hell out of here." Charles said. "I think a bullet grazed my right shoulder, but I think i'm okay." Viral said. "I'm okay too, no damage here. I can't believe we made it out of there." Panda added with a surprised look on his face. "We're not out of the woods yet." Charles said, who was still trying to get the group to safety. "We have to find Brant. We need bigger guns for this one" Dezi said. "Amen to that." Viral added. Charles was luckily able to drive the car, or what was left of it anyway, back to HQ to report to Boss Brant. Brant was expecting the group to return, but not in the state they were in. "What the hell happened to you guys?" The Boss asked. "We were ambushed over by the abandoned warehouse by Singer and Robertson. It's a miracle we even made it out alive." Charles said, still trying to catch his breath. "Obviously Tyler Durden didn't come unprepared. He had probably planned this attack for a while. These guys are clearly organized and well trained. Something the South Side wasn't prepared for." Dezi added. "We weren't able to track down Flash, but we have to hurry if we want to see him back alive." Viral said with a concerned look. "Alright i'll report back to Don Daniella. You guys get yourself fixed up first. Charles are you alright?" Brant asked as he looked at Charles's bleeding left arm. "I'll survive, but at this point i'm more worried about my baby. Damn bastards shot up my car, and I wasn't even able to fire a single shot." Charles said looking agitated. "Don't worry about your car, get yourself fixed up first." Brant said. "Yes Boss, but these bastards are going to pay. Ruined my fucking day." Charles said mumbling as he walked upstairs to bandage his arm. "They'll be taken care of." Brant said with determination. "Alright you three, report back to Don Daniella. This shit isn't over yet, not by a long shot. We need all the firepower we can get right now. Gear up! There is a shit storm of trouble ahead."* |

First word: Ahead. Last word: Tedious. If this is the last post then the last word is: Thoughtful. "How could we allow those shitty hands to get so far ahead of us?" Brant thought to himself as he watched his unit leave after returning from their mission unsuccessfully. He quickly shrugged at the thought and rushed to the crew's garage. Along the way he pointed out Kate, who had been organizing troop movements throughout the city. "Kate, I need you to handle these little kamikazes on our doorstep. They don't have any of their leaders out there, so it should be easy to pick them off." Brant yelled, as he speed walked towards the car. Kate nodded her head in agreement and moved out to protect the forts. When he finally reached the Chrysler Thunderbolt Concept, he glided his hand up the hood to the windshield. "Baby, you may not make it through today, but we're gonna give them a show, I promise you that" he said as he let loose a lazy sigh and got into the drivers seat. The car was a prototype and had not been slated to come out until the 40s, but Brant managed to get his hands on the fastest machinery in existence. Brant begun tearing through the streets with lightning speed in search of the Duesenberg that Marla and Rob had last been seen in. Bodies and shell casings littered the streets, a few of the dead's heads popping underneath the weight of the Thunderbolt. As he turned the corner onto Englewood, he noticed the car. The excitement in Brant's face was clearly visible at this point, he had longed for the opportunity to let these durds taste the steel of his blade. The throttle hit the floor of the car and the acceleration pushed Brant back into his seat. It seemed like he was going to catch them off guard, finally. As he approached, the Duesenberg stopped, just for a moment, and Brant knew this was the perfect time to strike. Reaching around for something heavy, he pulled out a shipment of coke, at least 35 units worth, from his backseat. He unbuckled his seatbelt and placed the drugs right against the gas pedal, holding it down for maximum velocity. With only a few seconds remaining, Brant gave himself one more breath in order to make sure this was lined up properly. Satisfied or not, he was out of time. He jumped out of the car, keeping his elbows out in front of him to minimize damage. Anyone watching would hear the loud grunts and sound of his steel sword clanking off the floor. When Brant finished tumbling he had just enough time to look at the Duesenberg and watch as his Thunderbolt went head first into their passenger side door. The force of the impact was so fierce and loud, the sound pierced through the air, drowning out the sounds of gunfire and agonizing screams let loose by innocent civilians being caught in the crossfire. As a rather unexpected result, the cars, basically conjoined at this point, go spinning into a lemonade stand. Not half a second later, a huge explosion occurred and both cars went up in flames. "HOLY SHIT!" Brant exclaimed as he got up off the pavement. He was wounded but the scuffs were not giving him the slightest issue; he assumed it was due to the adrenaline rush coming from watching lemonade turn into some sort of C4. He laughed maniacally, looking around to see if anyone else had seen what just happened. "Of fucking course, no one is ever here when I do cool shit." He grumbled as he made his way towards the burning cars. The smell of burning flesh infused with steel really leaves a horrid stench in the air, but Brant paid it no mind as his eyes were focused on the fat bastard that seemed to land a few feet away from the explosion. He stood over Robert Paulson, giving him a slight smirk as he watched him toss and turn in pain. "Those some pretty bad burns you got there buddy" Brant said sarcastically. Robert gave nothing but more hollering, "FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU AND FUCK DANIELLA! I HO" Robert's words were cut short as Brant leaned over and covered his mouth. "I swear to fucking god, if the next words out your mouth aren't the location of your base, I'm gonna chop off your dick and put it in Rubix's doggy bowl" He says, staring intensely directly into the eyes of Robert. Rob's eyes widened as he nodded his head in agreement. Brant's hands slid off his mouth and slowly made their way down his body. "IT’S OVER ON THE CORNER OF 79th AND VINNCENNES". Brant's hands came off of his body and he stands up with a smile on his face. "See now was that so hard?" he says moments before finally grabbing his blade by its hilt. "Now, this time," Brant says as he lifts the sword over his head, "stay dead!" are the last words Rob hears as the metal sliced through his neck. The head rolls away, somewhat comically. Brant took a look inside the burning Duesenberg Chrysler hybrid he just invented but could not find Marla or any other remains at that. Brant begun to walk away from the the fire still going on behind him, cleaning his sword as he decided his next move. Out of nowhere he sees Bitanga running down the street, returning fire towards a group of Tyler's disciples close on his tail. In a hurry, Brant sheathed his sword and grabbed a Tommy Gun off of one of the numerous corpses laying around the street. He shouted, "Bitanga! Drop to the floor!" and without hesitation the command is followed. A full clip from the gun lets loose, slaying all the pursuers. "God damn, I'm feeling like the mother fucking chosen one today." Brant said before running towards Bitanga. "Thank you so much boss, but I think I had it handled man. I was gonna lure them to the..." Bitanga's eyes finally get out of the tunnel vision induced by fire fights and he sees the flaming cars. "Well never mind then." Brant placed his hand on Bitanga's shoulder, as if he was preparing to say something deep. "Man, that shit was amazing, you should have seen it!” he exclaimed. "Now, I need you to do whatever you can to secure the streets leading into 79th and Vinncennes, that’s where Tyler should be." Bitanga nodded his head and ran off in that direction. Brant starts back on the track towards the HQ, to finish the fight back at the base and rally his troops to move on towards the Durden HQ he’d just learned the location of. He hoped that by the time he arrive, Marla will have been found and taken care of. The rest of Brant's life might turn out to be quite tedious* in comparison to the last 10 minutes, as he knew he would never be able to reach that level of excitement again. |

First word: Tedious. Last word: Murder. If this is the last post then the last word is: Thoughtful. Tedious was never going to be a description of the way the day had started for him. As the city burnt, he had slept off a supply run and only woke to the ring of the phone explaining what was happening. Grabbing his Mauser C96, which he had from his time in the army, he knew this was a chance to catch the bosses eye. He looked around his room for something that would not link him to the family; looking at the porters uniform from The Drake Hotel, which had been his first steps when landing here, he knew no one would link him to crime in that. Lining up the stock to the back of his gun, he used his belt to strap it to his arm as he took a bag by the handles hiding, the guns existence. He knew he had to get to the HQ, but with the fortifications in place and a street war going on he knew it was going to be a mission on its own. Running to his local customers he picked up word of mouth on updates as he tried to learn the situation in each part of the district and how so many bodies were arriving. As he wandered further he realized Tyler had hired anyone just to have bodies on the streets in the hope of flushing out the district. Slowly, he realized the only way was too let them chase him into the traps and hope he was smarter than they were in the hunt for blood. The orange and yellow flames flickered on the streets as buildings burnt around him and the shadows like ghosts lay a daunting figure ahead. His heart was racing as he let out short bursts just to slow them down; he jumped a trip wire, mortar and fellow south side gangster as they tried to hold the line, falling back at stages in an arc. Breathless, lungs burning from smoke and running, he coughed, as his heart beat faster, the adrenaline overtaking the fear as his heart beat out of his chest in hopes of self preservation. As the wheels screamed behind him, he hit the ground, and that's what had brought him to Brant. A short adrenaline filled ride; he grinned cheekily as he dusted himself off. Listening to Brant, he groaned to himself thinking he had just come here and now was time to fight back through those he had brought straight into this trap. Passing over a brief not, he took a breath as he looked over. "No more reinforcements coming from Delaware via the Airport, our union boys have shut down the flights and people disembarking for now. Some of the local police payed off to stop the out of town plates, to make it a little easier for us getting through" Clenching his chest a little he sighed. The car slowly chugged as if on its last burst before being scrapped. It only got worse, as he sat under the tree in Auburn Park looking on to 79th and Vincennes, it was worse than we thought and would take either a siege or a precision strike to get in their. Walking up to the phone he knew he had two roles, one report on the numbers and two run a diversion. Picking up the phone, he called through to report back, they had numbers, they were armed and were consolidating their position. As he looked at the car he realized it was time to send it in to the corner stone of their strong hold. He started her up, placed the tool box on the pedal as it slowly started and uncapped the petrol canisters as he fired upon it. He watched the screaming faces open fire on the car as it plowed towards them. Firing at the two petrol cans on the back he watched the fire burn bright, as the car exploded into the grocery store leaving charred flesh on the ground as the harrowing screams brought no sympathy. This was war at the end of the day, not murder*. |

First word: Murder. Last word: Label. If this is the last post then the last word is: Thoughtful. Peperami's ears whistled amidst the streets of explosions, fires and murder. His vision was hazy and clouded as he began to come round from his unconsciousness. Attempting to lift his heavy head, his neck ached, his shoulders burning. As he struggled to make sense of the recent happenings, he brushed his right hand over his face. Slowly managing to sit himself up, he looked around the immediate area. With the sun beginning to set, the once-beautiful streets of South Side now lay riddled with bodies and shops uncontrollably ablaze. Shop alarms echoed through the streets and cars lay abandoned among the turmoil. Peperami spotted his Smith and Wesson just a few feet from where his body was slumped. Leaning over, he made his way to his knees before gripping his revolver tightly. Looking around the area, he'd pieced together the immediate moments before consciousness left his body. Petrol bombs were exciting toys until some dopey bastard stands too close to the engulfing area. Still new to this way of life, Peperami was a bit overwhelmed by all of the recent action. He knew there'd be plenty of bloodshed and adrenaline in this walk of life but fighting off a rival crew of mobsters so soon into his new-found career was not at all what he expected - and in his own backyard, too. However, not afraid of a challenge, Peperami found his feet before stumbling back towards the desolate streets and peering around for a plan of action. Popping open the cylinder on his hand-held heater, he snapped it shut before heading back into the excitement. He'd noticed a group of suits starting to congregate just a few roads down the block. Hobbling down the street, his heels dragged but his head became clearer as he cut his way through the clouds of smoke and piles of rubble. He slid into Mick's 'Arms, Armour and Ammunition' on the way, stocking up on .357s before he headed back into the war zone. His suit had clearly seen better days, but he straightened his tie as best he could in the mirroring window. Having found full strength in his legs by this point, he quickly approached the group that had crowded. Stood among the mass was a face he recognized - Solar. He'd seen plenty of Solar's face around the district, even in his short time here. Hurrying towards her, he rushed over the formalities, "Solar! Are you okay?" Peperami's body spun full-circle as his eyes gazed upon the state of his home district. Just 24 hours ago, he could be found staggering drunkenly through the streets. Today, however, he could be seen painfully hobbling through the havoc. "Solar.. We need to get you out of here. Did they catch that Robert bastard, yet? What about Marla, what's the word on her?" Peperami scratched his head, beginning to panic a little. Attempting to regather his wits before he continued, he calmed himself slightly, "Okay.. Okay.. So, we need a motor and then we need to get out there and look for them bastards. Stay here.. I'll be right back!" Peperami scurried off through the streets as quick as his injuries would allow him. At the opening of a wide alleyway nearby, he found a beat-up Morris 8 parked up. Doors wide open, windows missing, the opportunistic looters had clearly made good of this disaster - for themselves, at least. Peperami dives inside the motor and begins to fiddle with the gauges. Moments later, the engine fires to life, attempting a roar but only managing a slight pop. He throws his foot into the throttle and shoots off towards Solar with great haste - at least, as much as the small metal box would allow. The tires screeched as the car slid up alongside Solar. Shouting out of the matchbox, he called for her to join him. "So.. What's the plan, Solar? We gotta go get these bastards. If we don't get on top of this soon, we'll be labeled the embarrassment of Chicago."* |

First word: Label. Last word: Tangy. If this is the last post then the last word is: Thoughtful. Solar looks at Peperami and smirks at him, "Hun, if you would have given me a chance to speak... You would know that we would never get that kind of label." She hiccups, "Marla is in the bar, we were having a great chat, playing darts and drinking like fish." She looks back in the bar and sees Marla ordering another drink and heading back into the back room. "Just stay out of sight so that Marla doesn't see you and recognize you, since I was on vacation, she doesn't even know who I am." Peperami nods and leaves in a hurry as Solar turns back to head into the bar.
Solar pats the gun on her thigh hidden under the skirt and says quietly, "Alright baby, we have got some work to do. You haven't let me down yet and you're not going to now." She walks into the building again and sits at the bar, feeling a bit adventurous she looks at the menu. She usually just orders a glass of whiskey on the rocks, but today is a special day. She looks at the menu and ponders between a Bacardi Sunrise and a Pink Lady. She has no idea what either one is composed of but she decides to go for the Pink Lady since that one was just a little more expensive, sitting at sixty cents and the Bacardi Sunrise was only fifty cents. More expensive means better quality drink right? She calls over the bartender and places her order. She looks into the back room to make sure Marla was still in there and she sure was. While thinking about her plan of attack the bartender coughs trying to get her attention as her drink was ready. She sets down a five dollar bill, "Keep the change hun and if you hear anything, ignore it okay? I have some business to take care of." The bartender nods at her without saying a word.
Solar heads into the back room, closes the door behind her, lights up a cigarette and offers one to Marla. Marla takes it and tries to light her match but fails. Solar giggles a little then feels a little pity for Marla and lights her cigarette for her. "Had a couple while I was getting some air?" Marla looks around innocently, "Who me? Never!" Marla's face turns bright red, apparently she's a terrible liar. Solar looks at her suspiciously, "Are you sure Marla? Your face is beet red! I think you're not telling me the whole truth." Marla laughs and says, "Two... I was thirsty." The two laugh hysterically and Solar sets her drink on the side table and walks over to the pool table, "You want to play a game of pool hun? It's been years since I've played!" Marla agrees happily and starts racking the balls.
Solar calls 8 ball in the corner pocket and then proceeds to sink it. "I would say good game Marla but you didn't get a single ball in the pocket!" Solar walks over to Marla with hand outstretched to shake it, as soon as Marla shakes her hand Solar quickly flips the pool cue and smacks her hard with the thick end of the stick and knocks Marla flat on her ass. Marla looks dazed and confused looking up at Solar, "What the fuck! You cunt!" Solar smiles sweetly and slams it down on her head again, "Oh my poor, sweet Marla, you didn't even recognize me. I'm Solar, right hand to Godmother Mouseycop." Marla's face falls as she realizes her fate, "For Fucks Sake." Solar slams down the pool cue on her head so hard that it snaps the pool cue in two and ends up knocking Marla out cold. Solar grabs Marla's wallet and takes the cash out of it and counts it, "$523 is all you had on you? You poor bitch." Solar lifts her skirt, takes her gun out of the holder and points the barrel at Marla's temple, right as she does Marla comes to and takes a swipe at Solar. Marla manages to scratch Solar on the face as Solar releases the safety and then pulls trigger as a bullet explodes right through Marla's skull killing her instantly.
Solar holsters her gun again and walks over to the side table and grabs her Pink lady from the table and walks into the main room of the bar with a little blood trickling down her face from the scratch received from Marla. Luckily the bar was empty besides the bartender. She sets down the 523 dollars on the counter for the bartender and asks for a napkin. The bartender hands her one and looks down at the stack of cash and his eyes widen. Solar takes the napkin from the bartender and says "Thanks hun!" She wipes the blood off her cheek and chugs the Pink Lady, "Ooh, tangy!" |

First word: Tangy. Last word: Unable. If this is the last post then the last word is: Thoughtful. Of all the tangy tastes in the world, defeat was definitely not something the Godmother of South Side had ever tasted. And she sure was determined as hell to make sure today would taste of sweet victory. This was her district, her home that she had built up from the ground, and she would be DAMNED if she was going to allow fucking Tyler Durden to try and take that away from her. Which was why as soon as the call came in from her beloved Captain Daniella, she rounded her troops up immediately. If there was one thing South Side was damn good at, it was being ready for war, and mobilizing everything quickly. The tall dark haired woman with the gaze of a hawk had been through plenty of wars, she’d seen Tyler’s raids before, and this one would be no different. Getting herself ready for a personal war, there was no stopping this Godmother once she was on a war path, especially when her home was in danger. One did not simply piss this woman off, and get to live to tell the tale of it. No, one would normally find themselves buried six feet under, or taking a swim with cement shoes, or whatever form of slow, painful death she could think of that day. It all changed with her mood of that day. This day in particular, there would be no slow, painful deaths. They would die without mercy, no sick satisfaction of torturing an enemy until they begged for mercy this day, not with such a large scale attack coming at her beloved district. Long legs carried her swiftly along the tiled halls of her Academy; its occupants running around as word had spread like fire about Tyler’s incoming attack. Barricades were being set up, the front gate was being reinforced to the point it would probably take quite a large amount of dynamite to bust through it. She was barking orders to everyone around her, making sure everything that needed to get done, was getting done. Setting up the Barricades around the Academy, evacuating the citizens to a safe bunker, and making sure her men were armed to the teeth, and prepared for an all out war. It wasn’t long before the sound of gun fire could be heard echoing around the streets, explosions going off here and there. A sigh escaped from between the woman’s lips as she continued moving through the hallways of the Academy, turning to one of her associates and ordering them to get her rifle. A wicked curve appeared on her red stained lips, a glint of danger in her eyes as she took the gun in her hands. It had been some time since she last used this, and now was the time to be the ghost upon the battlefield once more. Climbing the stairs up into the Bell Tower of the Academy, Mousey set herself up quickly, shifting a bit as she started working as best as she could, picking a target and cutting them down. Not having exactly the best range, she had to be extremely careful to not accidentally shoot one of her own men. By this time though, she was so used to this gun and it’s quirks she could navigate easily enough about its setbacks. Most of the time anyway. The sound of feet running up steps had the brown hair fury set down the gun, and whip out her knife, almost cutting the throat of one of her own men, who had caught her by surprise. Taking in a deep breath she looked at him, her eyes narrowed slightly. “This better be fucking important. What is it?” The man was still staring wide eyed at her, it was known that when war happened she got quite temperamental and strictly business, but he had only just now gotten a taste of what it was like. Almost as her words had just sank into his mind, the Made Man shook his head before straightening up. “It’s Flash… Tyler’s got him."
Those five words caused a spark in the chocolate brown eyes of the godmother of South Side. She could feel her own anger boiling up like a storm. Her voice came out quick, lashing out like a whip made of nails and thorns. “He WHAT! Are you saying. Tyler fucking Durden has kidnapped the Consigliere of The Chicago Academy.” A narrowing of her eyes as she grabbed the man by his tie, yanking him down so she could stare him in his face. “Where were his guards! Get a unit to get him back. Now! Should he die, it’ll be your head that rolls should you fail. Got it!” It wasn’t very often she got angry, as no one normally was so bold as to attack her family so blatantly, nor were the risk as high as they were right now. She had no idea where her Right Hand was, the woman was on vacation last she had heard, and now her trusted Left Hand was in the hands of the man so brazen as to challenge her rule. Her mind already thinking of the different ways she would love to torture this attacker. The moment her grip on the Capo’s tie loosened, the man scampered to gather who he could for his new mission. With word of the current news, Mousey gathered her rifle once more, and headed down the stairs, an aura of pure fury radiating from her in waves. Once fearless men were seeming to scamper out of the woman’s way as she marched her way through the halls, calling out for her most trusted informant. “Update. Now.” All but visibly shaking, the man gulped before giving the woman an update, hoping to calm her anger, but unfortunately for him it no such thing but keep the fire going. “Well ma’am. We are starting to get the edge on them... Word is Robert is dead, by Brant’s hand. Solar was spotted in a bar near where Robert was killed… drinking with Marla no less… I don’t know what she’s doing.” A short laugh slipped from Mousey’s lips as she shook her head. “That sneaky bitch is going to kill Marla before the woman even knows what the fuck hit her. Good… what else?” The man seemed to hesitate as they continued to head to where all of the action was. Mousey handing off her sniper since she would be closer range, getting a hold of a couple of guns instead, along with her throwing knives and her actual knife. She had grown up on the streets, and learned how to use each weapon upon her body, but this was the rough life of a Mafioso. By the time they were almost outside, the smoke from the burning buildings around had penetrated through the large wooden doors. The last time Mousey had smelled this much of anything burning was when there was a regime change in Chicago… oddly enough, Mousey wondered what the Chairman Bonkers would think of when she told him about this tale. Probably wouldn’t believe it unless he came to visit South Side probably… he was a strange one at that. Forcing her mind to focus, Mousey took a deep breath before shoving open the two wooden doors that lead to the once beautiful courtyard of the Academy. Now there were pools of blood everywhere, bodies strewn about with bullets in them. Most of the bodies were that of Tyler’s so-called ‘gang’, but every now and then you’d see the rare South Side victim. This caused the godmother to frown as she continued marching forward before stopping in her tracks. She didn't think the man would actually be so bold as to show up at the Academy, but there across the courtyard was the head of this chaos. Tyler Durden. He was a man who was well built, probably from all the years of fighting in his little underground group. He was certainly taller than her, too. Meaning she would have to try to finish this quickly. The only advantage she had… was she wasn’t cocky. Cocky was something Tyler Durden was known to be, often heard bragging about different things he’d accomplished. What caught her eye however, was the man being dragged behind Tyler. The very man who was the Consigliere to her family, the man who currently looked as if he was on the verge of death. She could feel her anger boiling more now. How DARE someone torture her own trusted Consigliere, how dare someone threaten her family like this, and treat her with such utter disrespect. This could not be tolerated, not one bit. “Tyler. You’ll fucking pay for this, you arrogant fuck.” Her words spat out like the poison of a black mamba. She was livid, especially now that her dear Flash was looking on the verge of death. She didn’t miss the smirk on Tyler’s face as he dropped Flash, the soft thud of his body hitting the ground before Tyler moved forward, seeming almost to forget where he was, which was nothing new with him. “I’ve finally brought the mouse out of her hiding hole. I’ve come to take your District, and then all of Chicago!” He grinned widely as he took out a gun, and pointed it at Flash’s head before looking back at Mousey. “Tell your boys to stand down, or this one gets his head blown off.” Another grin, God how she couldn’t wait to beat that smirk off his fucking face. Her fists were clenched as she almost visibly shook. “Stand Down! Tyler... this is between you and me, and it ends here.“ Her voice echoing among the stone walls that made up the exterior of The Academy. She watched Tyler extremely closely, shifting her feet a bit before allowing her hand to twitch slightly. At least it would have looked like her hand twitched, when really it was a signal. A signal to a person in hiding whom been handing her ever trustful Sniper Rifle to shoot the gun out of Tyler’s hand. The sound of the gun going off cause her right ear to ring slightly, but the fact that Tyler was now distracted for a moment was the moment she needed to sprint forward and dive towards Tyler, tackling him to the ground where the pair then wrestled each other. Their bodies rolling on the slick grass due to the blood that was everywhere. Soon enough they were both covered in blood, and mousey was losing against her struggle with Tyler. He was larger, stronger and overall better at this kind of fighting. That’s not to say Mousey didn’t have some tricks up her sleeve. Using her knee to beat the hell out of some of Tyler’s ribs before getting a chance to yank out her knife, stabbing it into his side, only to feel the powerful punch of Tyler’s left hook against her cheek, followed by a right hook. The hits were strong, but it let her hands to counter him as well, especially with her grip on her knife still. Yanking out the knife she slashed it at his arms, using the moment to catch him off guard, and hopefully get revenge for her beloved district. It was Tyler’s fault it was currently burning, and after all the work she’d put into this part of Chicago to build it into something great, she would be damned to let it fall into his hands. Rolling around again, the pair seemed to be fighting over control of the knife now, making everyone around them completely nervous. Tyler’s henchmen were cheering him on, whilst Mousey’s family were rooting for her to kill him, not to mention that they didn’t want to see their godmother die in front of them. “I wonder how it’ll feel, to see you fall by my hands in front of all of your family. Any last words you bitch?” There it was, it might not have looked like much, but Mousey could certainly feel it, with a knife close to her neck, and probably moments from ending her long life, she could feel the slightly give in Tyler’s weight against the knife. Using that moment, she glared up at him before shoving everything she had in her to turn the knife around, and plunge it into Tyler’s heart. “Yeah. This is my fucking District.” She saw his eyes widened in shock before feeling most of his weight start to fall on her. He was certainly a heavy son of a bitch, but at least now he was dead. The sound of her family cheering echoed all around before the men and women of South Side started going after what was left of Tyler’s crew, chasing them out of the compound, and probably out of their lives forever. Now that the chaos was over, they could all start rebuilding, first things first though were taking care of the injured, and getting rid of all the dead bodies. If they had too they would just burn all of them. To make a beacon of sorts, that South Side had been victorious. A sign to anyone that even though they might not seem like it all of the time, South Side was a force to reckon with, and they were always prepared for anything. Sure they had been caught off guard, and given just about no notice, but they had done it. They’d started off looking like there was no hope, only to rally as one huge family, and slay the beast. Mousey couldn’t be any prouder of those who worked under her. The very same people who she had risked her life alongside, and fought with to protect the place they called home. The only thing left to really do now was clean up and rebuild. The injured being moved into a bunker, the dead bodies being piled into the back of trucks and construction vehicles before quite a large burning took place, right at the heart of The Academy. Smiling, Mousey turned to look at those around her, knowing they all had each other’s back. This was a group of whom she was proud, and it was the thoughtful* actions of everyone today that was the reason they had come out on top. |
